3 goals and an assist yesterday is why Heinen is ready to make the jump before anyone else....

Lets pump the brakes a bit, he did it again the Devils prospects. I think its helped him inch towards a NHL spot, but lets see how he plays again everyday NHL players. A few guys played really well yesterday including DeBrusk & Bjork (neither in your line-up) and even Studnicka had a fantastic game. It'll be a good battle in camp to see who earns these open slots.

Yeah, he played well against his peers, but what did the Devils ice? They beat them 9-1 or something like that. Pumping the brakes is an understatement lol

The open spots will definitely be up for grabs for Bjork, Heinen, Debrusk, and Cehlarik, Maybe Gabrielle as a darkhorse but he feels like a guy who'd be better suited breaking him in on the 4th line, and there aren't really any spots up for grabs there; at least that's the feel.

Without Pasta sign this is what I see for open spots....

Marchand - Bergeron - Backes
XXX - Krejci - XXX
XXX - Spooner - XXX
XXX - XXX - XXX

Chara - Carlo
Krug - McAvoy
XXX - Killer/McQuaid

Rask
XXX

Now some of these XXX's can get filled in/moved around (i.e. Backes to 3rd line), but I see this forward group being wide open and no one is really safe. I'm even hesitant to put Spooner in there, but he can't play win so unless someone has a breakout camp at center (like can't not keep him up on the B's breakout) then he's (Spooner) pretty much a lock.
