I personally wouldn't do this as Juolevi has a higher ceiling.

MANY canucks fans wanna give up on this kid but defence take a long time to develope (just like power forwards).

Duncan Keith took 4 years I believe and Subban took 3.

I think people forget he's only 19 years old. His production last year didn't dip in the ohl either as marner tkachuk and dvorak weren't there. I think when he got the same amount of points it showed well Because it said he could put up points even without those elite players in the ohl.

Just give him time.

Im not sure this is giving up on him. Dumba is a pretty good dman also. This is more about if a team would want get a more ready player now instead of a player that might need time to develop.

Juolevi has a higher ceiling for what reason exactly, because he was drafted higher than Dumba was but in different years? Both guys scored pretty evenly in there junior years. Both guys were drafted very high. For all we know Juolevi may end up being just as good Dumba but not necessarily better either.

I have a feeling this misnomer that a "player has a higher ceiling" is getting silly. How does one even quantify a player having a higher ceiling over another other than from visual reference? (Based on two players having similar backgrounds and talents)

I truly think any time someone says this player has a higher ceiling, is simply them saying they haven't seen what that player can do at the NHL level yet so therefore there is a chance it may be higher than the player whose already played in the NHL and thus gives you a visual reference to base off.

Once again, this would have to come down to Vancouver wanting to speed up their rebuild which in mind would be a mistake. they are slowly building that powerhouse but they are not there yet so might as well stick with the current plan.

This team is rebuilding right? Why not stick with the guy that's 4 years younger? If they turn out into roughly the same player then that's fine. you get 4 more years of control.
