MLSE 17-18

Created by: Canadian_Rednek
Team: 2017-18 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 7, 2017
Published: Oct. 14, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
No major moves ship McElhinney to Pitt for a pick to free up room for Pickard and Sparks.
Then trade for Gudbranson from Van to improve the defence and he is a UFA who probably won't resign in Vancouver so they should be willing to trade him and get some young assets in return.

Redneck: I think that Spark's lustre has sadly taken a hit, but I have no problem with moving Mch, and utilizing Pickard. But I don't even see Gudbranson as an upgrade over what we currently have on roster, let alone want to give up something for him. Hell. . . .I'd sign Polak to a contract (for nothing) before I'd make that move. You may not see 2 decent prospects and a late pick as giving up much. . . . .but in this case you quite possibly are getting back less. . . .wayyyyyyyy less!

i've seen gudbranson enough to know he bottom 6 defenceman. leafs fans seems to think that everybody else bottom pairing are better than their own. what is this thinking that pickard or sparks is better than mcelilenny. mcelinnery can be sent waived at no cap hit if he claimed. so there is room if the Leafs think one of the other two are better. pickard hasn't even played this year.
