Realistic Semi-Rebuild (Interested to hear what people think)

Created by: dconn
Team: 2017-18 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 27, 2017
Published: Oct. 27, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Assuming the lottery goes MTLs way, I don't see any of these deals being terribly far fetched. Sure some deals may take "a little more" but I figure im not too far off. Getting Dhalin, will have every habs fan forgetting about Subban & Sergachev in no time. I think that early on there may be some growing pains, but the prospect cupboard will no longer look empty. And the potential of a quick, semi-rebuild, should create legit contenders in a matter of years instead of a decade.

The Roster is what I see for the 2018-19 season

Sorry bud, your really far off on a quite a few of these. Although I agree with the sentiment here. Its time for this team to rebuild/retool.

A bottom 6 scrub+A bottom paring Dman+2nd round pick for Nyquist, I understand he's not setting the world on fire here. But i'm pretty sure Detroit can do better then Carr+Davidson+2nd round pick for Nyquist.

I agree that the Nyquist Deal would likely need more, but not if it was an off season deal (e.g. only 1yr until UFA)... especially if Holland knows he's on his way out of town anyway.
Neal should be in heavy demand if his season continues on the same pace, but I suppose any UFA signing is possible if the money is right.
I don't mind the Plek and Mitchell deals since Streit was worth a 4th rounder last year, but likely no conditions on the 3rd for Plek.
Based on his deal, I think Florida has big hopes for Matheson. Probably would take lindgren + a 2nd to pry him away (but it would be nice)

Overall I think that lots of this could get done with only small adjustments here and there.

Other than maybe the Matheson deal, I think the rest is pretty close for 15min of effort. Based on his contract, and what i assumed would be more or less a one year rental, I think Nyquist has less value than Chucky and i'd imagine that if Chuck were traded today, that would be the going rate.

Also, this is basically the roster make-up for 2018-19 season (which i should have explained)
