Lobby: certainly at first glance this trade is in Edmonton's favour! This year alone, JVR adds to the Edmonton mix, while Strome , now at best a bottom 6 player, has no real fit for the Leafs. The first, if not protected, is an asset for an expiring contract that can't be overlooked. Giving up 2 actual LW's in the deal, I doubt that Toronto would actually want to give the 3rd back though.

Leivo and Strome are about even though I like Strome better. Leafs would prefer more help immediately than a maybe high 20s pick for JVR. Leivo, JVR for Strome and maybe Bear and Caggiula.

1. Lol Strome is an everyday player on every team in the NHL, Leivo is fringe on most. Why would Toronto prefer a Leivo level winger for Leivo? And why would they rather have Ethan bear than a first round pick

lobbydangles: cause a first rounder which might be in mid to late 20s, doesn't help the Leafs now and even in the near future. As a said, if the Leafs were to trade JVR, it should be for immediate help not futures.

im sorry but you're way off base. if you think ethan bear is immediate help ur mistaken. if you think the reason to trade JVR is to get immediate help ur mistaken. the reason u move JVR is to accumulate assets for a guy u cant resign, and have the talent in the system to replace (Kapanen, Grundstrom, Bracco, Altonen etc). Ethan Bear was a 5th round pick 2 years ago i dont see why u want him over a 1st round pick lmfao. He's an AHLer atm not immediate help
