Description

let's say Buffalo have the #4 overall pick in the 2018 entry draft, Dahlin, Svechnikov and Boqvist have been taken and up is Filip Zadina
now would you trade that pick to the NYR for our McDonagh with agreed extension along with NYR own 1st round pick (#15-20)
Reason for this trade is for NYR to get younger, shed cap and having a potential top Czech duo in Zadina-Chytil. Meanwhile Buffalo gets a great #1 D-man to play along Ristolainen

With mcd going to Buffalo, I don't think you have to give up a first rounder. Mcdonagh is worth #4 overall (given he signs an extension. Also may add on buffalos end-- he could be worth way more than a first come the trade deadline next year

McDonagh is not worth the 4th overall pick straight up that is absolute insanity. The trade here is closer. I could go either way on it

No Spanky. Sure you could trade McDonagh for a prospect and a # 1 next TDL. But the pick would be from a contender (who made the trade) so the pick would be in the 20s, not # 4 as indicated in this trade. Not saying the Rangers should make the trade as posted.
