Off season without trading any assets this season

Pick any vet that will take league minimum. Its kind of telling that when the needed help on the blueline that Zboril wasn't called up. The Bruins appear to have more confidence in career AHLer Parker Wotherspoon than they do Zboril right now.

Bs side
Poitras is staying with the club and they're seeing if Zacha can be a permanent 2C, which so far he looks like. Putting another center in there might jam up the growth of those players. Based on that I just don't see them making a trade until at least the deadline if they look like a real threat to go deep and management says screw it. That doesn't really work with Edmonton's time-frame, which is why I think Hertl is more likely to end up in Boston. They loaded up on cheap short-term deals this past offseason so they could combat the overages from Bergy and Krej and play out the season. Success this year feels like a bonus. I think they hold Ullmark and continue to benefit from arguably the best tandem in the league, then see what FA centers are available in the Summer with 25+ million to throw around. At that point, they start fielding offers from teams needing a goalie, and they would probably be happy getting futures for Ullmark.

Great defensively, decent on draws, good all around offensive threat. Real good shot

Nylander would be there as well but I really don’t see him making it to market unless he has his heart set on it

Packaging Hall Ullmark and Griz
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ecupirate07</b></div><div>well i cant help the offers from other fans. Yes, ideally we use Boston's need to clear cap space to remain competitive to lower the cost as much as possible. Hall isnt a necessity in the deal for us. To me, he is just a throw in to the deal to clear more space for a guy who did meet his contract this year (because of injuries). If boston holds him in high regard because of one 7 game series, the canes will likely not be interested. Getting Forbort on the cheap in a deal with Ullmark is fine but also not a necessity . Ullmark would be only of value to the canes here. The rest are cap dumps we take in order for us to not pay an arm and a leg for ullmark.</div></div>
There's probably 3 first of value in here from Boston
Gryz 2nd, hall 50% 1st, ullmark 1st+2nd are reasonable prices on all of these
I predict boston to take a haircut on ONE of these players (not hall 50% retained but hall at full price), but Boston doesn't need to clear all of them, and so you'd be paying full price on these.

Not a problem. Understandable about Scheifele. He can be very lazy. I personally like all of those forwards, especially Hartman, Nelson, and Schmaltz. Just trying to help people out since I see a lot of bruins fans trying to trade for Nugent-Hopkins!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AgentWebster</b></div><div>I hear what you’re saying, but again, if that GM is worth anything, he would find a way to move other pieces to make the trade happen if everyone agrees with the trade.</div></div>
So you think Sweeney could take on another 7m in cap with their issues to make a good trade right now? It’s not that simple.
Debrusk/Lysell for RNH/Savoie might be something that would work for both teams and only 1 NMC to deal with.
Regardless, in the end you are getting a #2 center that is better off at wing, is it worth it?

Alrighty.. so, Nick Schmaltz, Ryan Hartman, Christian Dvorak, Ryan Johansen, Brock Nelson, Jean Gabriel Pageau, Kevin Hayes, Logan Couture, Yanni Gourde, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Mark Scheifele. All of those guys are better center men than Nugent-Hopkins. Nugent-Hopkins is strictly a winger in my opinion. He’s not good at all as a center man, and definitely shouldn’t be someone’s 1C.

FYI Braden Holtby is done, He's probably going to retire. So he wont even be an option next summer.
LOL thinking that Ullmark would waive his full NTC for Seattle.</div></div>
Ullmark's NTC is a M-NTC after the 22-23 season.

Rumors are rumors. You can't base your entire perspective on them. The Lindholm just happened. Doesn't make much sense to rebuild after giving up a 1st, two 2nds, and a prospect for a player in their prime and then lock him up for eight seasons.

You are trying to justify they are top 6 based on both of their best 48 game even strength stretches of their careers! Laughable! Even if they are bonafied top 6 players, it still does not make them high end pieces which is the whole point!</div></div>
I’m trying to justify them being top six based on how they performed when they were top six. If only we had other instances of these guys being top six. Oh wait, we do -
Haula - 29 goals, 55 points
Debrusk - 27 goals, 42 points, 68 games.
The argument is that when they play top six, they’re good top six players. Is that complicated or something?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>The_Rocket</b></div><div>Yeah, and miller had 50 even strength points. So he is clearly several tiers above haula who is a middle 6 forward.
Also, Garland had 48 EV points, so miller is not the only one who outperformed them. Pettersson had 31 as well, which is his worst even strength point production of his career. So Pettersson at his worst is comparable to debrusk at his best. Ditto haula.
You really have to massage the numbers to convince me debrusk or haula would be top 3 forwards in the Canucks.
Debrusk I would say is better than haula, and even though he obviously struggles with consistency issues. Some times it looks like debrusk is a top line player who can score 30 goals, sometimes he plays like a 3rd liner. It’s very possible, if not likely, that he plays at a 3rd/2nd line level in Vancouver if Van were to trade for him.
End of the day, neither are high end. Neither of them finished in the top 100 for 5v5 scoring. Neither of them are useful power play pieces. Neither of them were consistently used as 1st line players.
It does not make sense for vancouver to move on from miller for a collection of middle of the line up players. It’s a great way for vancouver to find themselves to be a repeat bubble team every year and never take a full step.</div></div>
You missed a lot of what i said here.
First, I’ll emphasize “once they were put in the top six,” and “48 games.”
It was over a period of time, in which, one player on the canucks had more EV points. It was miller, who had 39. Garland had 28. So ya, when they were top six guys…they were top six guys.
Notice, i did not say they were first line studs that can put up 99 points. I just said they were top six guys…because that is literally what they were.

Well, that’s what they were. Once both were put in the top six, here’s what they produced at 5 on 5:
Haula - 48 games, 32 EV points, 16 EV goals.
Debrusk - 31 EV points, 20 EV goals.
For reference, the only guy that exceeded that on the canucks was Miller.

They can get a high end future back. If you think they’re getting a high end roster piece, i would refer you to all other rental trades in the past 20 years.

1. No it isn’t.
2. I’d like to hear why you think haula is a cap dump with that kind of production. Its an interesting theory, so there must be something behind it.
