Tbh Erod has been one of the best players in the league this season in terms of all-round play.

There is no possible scenario where a zucker for hall trade works.
Bruins don’t want zucker
Bruins want hall
Hall wants to be in boston
Hall doesn’t want to be in Pittsburgh.
This is very simple.</div></div>
Thanks for the feedback. I understand BOS may not want to trade Hall but I think the value is fair and they would benefit from the pieces they’re getting, so that’s why I proposed it.

Thanks for the feedback. Tbh, I think everyone suffers from recency bias, there’s too much of the what have you done for me lately mentality.

McGinn is playing on Pittsburgh's 4th line and is not a top 6 forward. Matheson's contract doesn't make sense for the Leafs to take back if their objective is to clear cap.</div></div>
McGinn is a solid 2 way player who forechecks hard and can give you 40 points, possibly more with the right linemates. Matheson has a long contract but the Leafs need a 2RD right now and he’s exactly that!

IDK what Marner is worth but I feel I’m giving up too much for Lafreniere. It is a lot to sacrifice 2 proven players for a physical complimentary piece, but the Pens need grit badly and Laf has some upside.

My opinion on Marner is not that he isn’t good, but he needs a change of scenery. And you don’t think McGinn or Matheson are good return pieces? A top 6 F and a top 4 D with term?

After Winning The Cup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JackSC87</b></div><div>Leafs wouldn't go for that, I agree that Marner is probably the first to go if there is another playoff implosion but they would never accept that trade, a decent forward, an aging big contract defenseman and a 2nd rounder is not nearly enough quality for Marner. Lafreniere definitely hasn't lived up to expectations but he also hasn't been awful, so that trade isn't necessarily unfair but I doubt New York would be eager to give up on him so quickly. But yes I do think that the Boston trade is very lopsided in Pittsburgh's favour. A couple of those contracts are very questionable too, i.e. Letang, Rust, Rodrigues.</div></div>
Thanks for the insight. My understanding of the Marner situation from Leafs Twitter is that he is a must trade at all costs at the end of the season. Basically an addition by subtraction type situation. So TOR would have to pull the trigger even if they don’t get much back. And I think my offer isn’t bad, Matheson has been an excellent 2-3 guy for PIT so he’d be a dealbreaker.
I think I’ve given up more than enough for Lafreniere, though I understand why NYR will be hesitant to trade him. I just think they’re better off trading him for win-now pieces.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CMcAvoy73</b></div><div>Credible reports made it seem like Hall really used his full NMC to get to boston. Thanks for the insight. TBH, I feel like a lot of people don't like Hall and a lot of big name media people were talking about how he'd have a detrimental impact to his team before he went to BOS. So I guess with this narrative it was easy to believe what Leaf fans suggested.

Credible reporting stated the opposite. Leafs fans were bitter that they couldn’t get hall and wound up giving up more for foligno. Duh.</div></div>
Yeah I didn't consider that, maybe a lot of TOR fans were salty that they got Foligno who stunk instead of Hall.

Saw this on another forum site
The issue with the Laf pick wasn’t only that NYR already had a logjam at LW, but rather that he wasn’t skilled or talented enough to go in the first round which was well known for QMJHL viewers before the draft. He was never a guy who could dance around opponents or go end to end, most of his production came from outworking the opposition physically to give himself space. He plays his best in the dirty areas & net front, these players usually need a few seasons to get used to the skill and intensity of the NHL. So it was just a brutal pick all around.

Hall at his worst is better than zucker at his best. Zucker and Coyle haven’t played together for a long long time. They’re both completely different players.
The bruins didn’t break up any lines to get hall going. The moved things around to try to balance their lineup. It worked. Really well.
Bruins don’t want zucker under any circumstances, ever.
Bruins want hall, they just traded for him and signed him.
Hall has no trade protection. He wants to be in Boston, badly.
Not. Gonna. Happen.</div></div>
Thanks for the insight. Tbh the narrative here in Toronto was that no one was interested in Hall at the deadline, and BUF begged BOS to take him. That’s why his trade return was so low. I just wonder if Hall’s played out his welcome in BOS cuz he no longer has an elite C to feed him the puck.

I just think BOS has had to make a lot of accommodations to get Hall to play at an elite level, like they broke up the perfection line. So that’s why I wonder if it’s more worth it for them to acquire Zucker who knows how to play with Coyle.

You would have to add if you want an established player. I just think he’s not a fit with NYR, he doesn’t have enough skills to play a role outside of power forward. So I think they should trade him sooner than later.

Robot or too many shots to the head?
Zucker at 5m with term has zero trade value. You’d have to pay someone to take him. Retain half you can get a 3rd maybe a 2nd. You could put Riikolo on waivers, better players have cleared.
I don’t care if Coyle and Zucker were lovers. Boston would not touch that with a ten foot pole. They don’t need another wing.
Hall is worth more than a cap dump and waiver trash.
Hall has always wanted to play in Boston and wanted the NMC. He’s not waiving it.
Either you are arguing points you know are wrong just to be a dick. Or you are a bot.</div></div>
I don’t think Zucker is a cap dump like you’re implying. He’s just been really unlucky the past 2 seasons, he started 20/21 with Geno who was terrible and his results suffered. When he started to rejuvenate he got injured. This season he started well and got injured. I think swapping him for Hall who hasn’t really fit alongside Coyle would be considerable for BOS.
