Thats a horrible Philly offer. Its laughable that you try to justify it
Three rather average/below average players, making over 7mil, all 27 yrs old or older, a midlevel prospect for Giroux AND 4mil in retention AND a 3rd?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AustonMatthews3443</b></div><div>I'm pretty sure Marner started off the year in the middle of the ice on the PP but then was moved back to the halfwall after only a few games. That's how I remember it, I very well could be wrong though. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing Marner in the bumper on PP1 bcuz let's be honest he's never going to get taken off PP1. With two shooting threats on the half wall in Nylander and Matthews, Marner's creativity and playmaking in the middle could be very useful in a tight area that the bumper spot on the PP plays in. The only shooting he would do would be point blank one timers from the low slot when the net front guy sneaks out to the near post and receives a pass and one touches it to the guy in the bumper, which Marner can handle, he's not really a shooting threat on the halfwall at all, but he is from the low slot. Being able to create offence from the bumper on the PP is super effective as it forces a tighter PK formation, which means more space for the shooters on the halfwall.</div></div>
I agree, there is no chance Marner comes off PP1. Most likely they load it back up. But it’s hard to not look at the success they are having right now, like even when they don’t score they look super dangerous. But that’s why I’m just an ACGM

Anyone that says the goalie should stay in the net is an absolute buffoon. The impact a goaltender can make playing the puck is immense especially with a goaltender that excels at it (Ben Bishop, Martin Brodeur). This will also out weigh the one or two dang its throughout the year.

Nah just trade him to Arizona for Future Considerations is necessary.
Nobody wants to go to Arizona and they need to reach the cap floor so perfect for both sides.

Keefe and Dubas both like Holl. He won't be waived.
But he's certainly had a tough start to the season. The more Liljegren plays ahead of him, the better the chances Holl can be the one moved to free up some capspace.
Move Holl, grab a Schenn type to be 7th dman, and let Liljegren try out that 2nd pair RHD spot for awhile.

I would not have any of the 4 considering we have seen a resurgence in Tavares and Stamkos.
Despite both being over 30 they both have been doing pretty darn well on the score sheet.

i find these rather pointless.
if Detroit had the 1st pick in that draft they take Laf, not Raymond.
if Anaheim had the 2nd pick in that draft they take Kakko, not Zegras.
how do you know Svechkov is going to be any better or worse than Othmann?
sure, hindsight is nice, but this could be done for every team drafting in front of the next.

I know a few ppl who have played against NHLers when they were young, but never in Junior. I played against Wahlstrom is a spring hockey tournament when I was 14 in Boston. I also played on a spring hockey team with Noah Dobson when I was 11, and you could tell they could make it but when you play with someone in Junior you know they’re gonna make it and you can enjoy the experience of watching them play more as you understand how special they are, that’s sick man.</div></div>
Thankfully I was the backup goalie and he was on the best team in the league by a country mile so I only had to endure his skill once. All of the other games I got to watch from the bench.:tearsofjoy

I can only image how good these guys really are. As a goalie I played against Makar in the AJHL in 2016-2017 when he had 75pts in 50ish games as a dman. Guy was phenomenal. Played against him and now he's in the NHL and I'm talking about him on CapFriendly lmao.

I think both are a no-brainer, it's pretty hard to hit a guy when you're skating and he's at ice level, you have to pretty much dive to reach them and that shows intent to injure

Engvall getting traded or sent to the Marlies still doesn’t create enough cap space for a 22 man roster. The thing to keep in mind is the holiday roster freeze comes into effect Dec 19. The Leafs would have to send down one of Liljegren/Sandin to get both guys off LTIR.
That makes Dec 19 the deadline to make a trade if they want to keep both guys on the roster for the western road trip and the 2 games after Christmas.
IMO one of Ritchie / Dermott / Holl will be traded

If Kerfoot slows down or Mikheyev doesn't play well then I would look to make a move up front. I think the absolute #1 priority is right shot top 4 dman. Either to play next to Muzzin, or play Brodie with Muzzin and have a guy to play with Reilly.</div></div>
Right now, absolutely. But at the TDL I really hope they add another offensive weapon for the top 6
