Watching Levi in those juniors just had me feeling he was NOT a one hit wonder. He just looked so strong; and <strong>didn't </strong>look like someone playing out of their mind that was burning bright and gonna fizzle out.
Can't wait to see what he can do in Rochester.

That's if he asks for a trade, sure. If he becomes available at 50% retention I think the package would be worth retaining. There are a bunch of competitive teams with shaky goaltending, Colorado being one of them.
And a trade request does not seem out of this world either, rumours are that he's delaying his comeback because of his unvaccinated wife and the super strict Québec measures.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AustonMatthews3443</b></div><div>Agreed, playing on such a terrible team can be draining though and can really effect individuals motivation, could be what's happening with Chychrun. Ghostibhere got a lot of hate, was healthy scratched, etc. for a couple years before coming to Arizona. With the yotes he was given a fresh start and is probabaly thankful that he's in a spot that he can turn his career around again and is relishing the oppurtunity. I know that's alot of "what if's" and theoretical stuff which has no proof but at the same time, they are likely in two different head spaces.</div></div>
That’s a good point - it’s still a huge risk to trade significant assets for Chychrun considering how bad his numbers have been this season , plus he’s injury prone. Being available is important. He’s being talked about like he’s some game changing cale makar type D, but he’s just a reliable top pair Two way D.

I disagree. Sandin has been an elite play driver this season and the early returns show he can be just as good as Chychrun. People have been making excuses for Chychrun's play this season because he's on the coyotes, but Ghost has been playing very well. There's no guarantee he has a top pair impact this year if he gets traded.

Offensively yes, but defensively Sandin has the advantage and if he continues on his current development man is he gonna be a solid top pair 2-way defender

yeah regardless of beliefs on COVID, the IIHF is a joke and they basically planned to cancel the tournament with how dumb they set things up.
And regardless of beliefs (I am vaxxed for example etc) - cancelling the entire tournament over 4 cases is actually comical. Actually laughable, and if you're that worried maybe actually set up restrictions and guidelines and bubbles etc - instead they fumbled everything.
Ruining the best tourney of the year.

Actually cringe that they’re cancelling the tournament, pretty stupid.
They are worried about it so much that they cancel it; but they didn’t put any protocols or good guidelines in place while they were so worried. So they set themselves up for failure.
Even then, 4 cases isn’t worth shutting down..

The funny thing is that I actually probably agree with your political take on COVID (I'm libertarian/conservative), I just think it's too risky to keep the WJC going

Agreed, Omicron is 70x more transmissible than Delta, which in turn was 2x as transmissible as the original strain of COVID. Do the math, that means Omicron is 140X (!!!) more transmissible than the original COVID. Even though the vast majority of people who get it are fine (I.E. are either asymptomatic or have a mild cold), IIHF still should've known that the chances of the players getting it (and thus having to shut down the WJC) drastically increased without having any precautions in place (I.E. staying in public hotels, having fans in the building, no bubbles). Take a look at what's going on around the league right now-more than 200 players have gotten COVID in the last 2 weeks alone. Did they honestly think nobody was going to get it at the World Juniors if they didn't have some kind of safety net?

I watched Desnoyers when he was with the Moncton Wildcats and then when I went off to school in Halifax he got traded there so I've watched him in person upwards of 30 times and while he's a good Q player he's just not a WJC player. They already have their identity/checking line in Neighbors-Greig-Sourdif, Desnoyers is a good role player but he just doesn't have the high end skill required to make team Canada imo.
While I will say on paper Lappierre not making it is a shock, I have a buddy who plays on the Titan and said he hasn't really been that great since he returned to the Q. I also have a buddy who refs in the Q and he tells me Lappiere is a pr*ck and walks around the rink in all his caps gear and doesn't really seem to care all that much. How much truth these statements hold, I'm not sure but that could be a reason he got cut. I would've taken Roy, Dean, Evangelista, etc. over Desnoyers though.</div></div>
I also have a buddy who plays for the Titan, or well is drafted by them (was called up a couple of weeks ago from the Moncton Flyers).
Also I know this might sound a little bit bias, but Wyatt Johnston would’ve also been a very good pick, he seemed to fit in well in the NHL during the preseason.

Even if it's true, this gives a serious handicap for Slovakia now, as they must win the game in regulation while the Swiss can be content with OT loss...they'd still be through.
Unless Slovakia beats Russia...then this changes the game.

5. Juraj Slafkovsky - Lacks foot speed, poor off puck, good offensively with the puck
6. Filip Mesar - Barely noticed him, seemed out of position a lot, good foot speed
Didn’t see Wright, Jiricek or Yurov</div></div>
Lambert was incredible. Best player on the ice for either team in that game. Just makes things happen.

If you honestly think Spezza wasn't trying to knee Pionk in the head I don't know what to say to you. He was looking at Pionk from a mile away. It's about as obvoius an example of intent to injure as they come.
By the way, Spezza's one of my favourite players, and I appreciate he had the guts to stand up to Pionk to protect Sandin, but it absolutely was intentional, and he deserved to be suspended for 4 games.

It is very obvious Spezza intentionally dropped his knee on Pionk's head when he was laying on the ice, the league is a joke for reducing Spezza's suspension.
