Its a late 1st. Like i said probably a bit of an overpayment but its a deadline deal, Buch is a versatile ppg top line winger with a good contract. I guess Nemec could be swapped for Seasmus, want a good RD prospect coming back. Im def not as high on Nemec as Nj seemed to be so yeah they probably dont trade him and i dont mind a change to this. I dont mind hearing other ideas, like i said i could be way off.

Ehh idk if id go that far. Probably Schenn, Buch maybe slightly, unsure on Kyrou so i asked less or more. Krug i have no clue what he could actually fetch so maybe there. Saad probably, not super familiar with the prospect. Bortz and Barbie seems close. Sens and Philly trade kind of make sense to me. Not sure on Parayko, maybe edmonton is just hard to balance because of the cap reasons. I could be way wrong too though i guess. Just throwing crap at the wall at this point haha also operating from the position alot of these are deadline moves for some of the teams making a playoff push.

STL Blues - Kyrou and Krug to Jersey
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PuckShmuck87</b></div><div>Easy. I have a preference for winning. You can build a winning team around an elite defenseman. The Blues have nothing that resembles such a player. But, elite wingers with an aversion to puck possession, physical contact, forechecking and backchecking, not so much. If Kyrou would demonstrate that he's remotely coachable, I might think twice about this, but his game hasn't changed.</div></div>
Theres alot here i understand... but this aint it. Kyrou could fetch a haul somewhere if youre looking to find a harder working player, you could get that. I get hes wildly inconsistent in that regard but that can be drilled into him and theres been flashs of him being a more complete player throught the season. The strength and determination could still come but that level of speed and skill is hard to come by. Hes YOUNG still.

I think the Blues should do this but unfortunately i dont think they would. They should be in fire sale mode imo and hope for a 3-5 year turnaround but "retrench" doesnt sound like trading Parayko.

If Blues were sure he'd extend theyd probably give 2 1st (not theirs) and Bolduc. Im just not sure they should lol i personally think this team needs a drastic overhaul and a retool even with Meier doesnt get them far anytime soon unless some miracle happens

Blues TDL - Next Trade
Edmonton still needs to add a 1st. I like the prospect but Paryko fetches a similar one and a 1st from most teams. Ceci is just a meh replacement while we look for another and makes the cap work. Puljujarvi basically just a cap move for them to make it work. We're addressing two needs for them for a playoff push in the weak west and only getting one really appealing piece here and a project they're probably happy to move.

Yup. Even though he's had a down season he's still by far the best defensive player on the team and plays the hardest minutes and matchups. We have no replacement for him. I could see a trade to vancouver, maybe even involving Boeser but this isnt it. Plus it seems Boeser is set on Minnesota

Yeah i like Krug or Leddy to Philly for Provy or Sanheim but we'd have to add. Not 1st but other picks and prospects. Like one i think that makes sense is Leddy + mid picks and a decent young nhl forward player/prospect with some upside. Saves them some cap, gives them some pieces and gives them a new look. They should rebuild but theyll want to retool like us.

JVR PART 3
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sk540</b></div><div>Not saying the prices are fair, but TK to Minnesota makes a lot of sense for their cap hit issues.
Additionally, St Louis could use a minutes eating dman like Provy who can play against other teams top 2 lines. He has lost his scoring touch this year but he has put up points more times than not in his career. I think it's mostly due to Torts system and his usage.
I would say if you took away the 2024 2nd and 2025 1st, added a '24 mid round pick (3rd), and a prospect, would be fair TK.
For Provy, maybe two '23 firsts are a bit high, but he is under control for several years, is only 26, and has a very fair AAV. St Louis has also said they are looking for a quick rebuild and targeting players who are 25-27. I would say 1 of the '23 first, and '24 1st, a prospect, and maybe a salary to take back.</div></div>
Holy! Provy is not worth that much! He has two years left at 6.75 not several years. His cap hit is about right but its not like he's a steal at 6.75. Thered have to be money going back the other way then MAYBE they get A 1st (one of the later ones.) Or some middle picks and B/C prospects.

100 % Blues make that deal. Outside of Bolduc, Snuggie and Neighbours you could get 2 1st and 2 of any other prospect i assume... maybe not Hofer.

Destorying draft capital to retool
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AC14</b></div><div>Sooo what do we do in 2-3 years when our defense is all expired and our ELC army is needing substantial raises lol</div></div>
I mean we're gonna lose stuff or maybe flip it when it comes time, but id rather deal with that than run the defense as is. I did note Buch and/or Provy would likely become cap casualties (we'll have to see where the caps at then and how everybody performs). Youd hope we have a decent option to replace one of them if needed either in house, another trade, free agency. And the elc's are really dependent on when they come up, how well they play, theyd still be under team control so thats almost a hypothetical i couldnt answer. Also drafting really well in the later rounds which the Blues have been decent with helps everything lol

Oh yeah haha forsurr i think any situation where that 1st is dealt has to atleast have top 5 protection on it. If 2024 is moved you cant do that right? You have to have a 1st in the nexy draft? And yes Blues D has a bunch of capable guys just the wrong make up and needs be addressed urgently

I actually like what could be put togethwr for the 4th line and the bottom D pair. The main contention id have is the 3rd line not being Nhl ready. Its really just there to show a glimpse of the future but what would/could be in place there while they get some seasoning isnt great. I did note adding some other cheap depth too but likeoy nothing that would make the 3rd line really great in the mean time. There is almost 3.5 in space left though so maybe could find a solid 3rd liner in free agency for a couple seasons

I thought so too outside of everyone on the 3rd line probably not being ready to make the jump quite yet. Neighbours realistic ceiling is more so just a solid 3rd liner who could jump up when needed like Barbashev.

It was Kevin Weekes who mentioned a 1st or a 2nd + prospect. He may fetch that, maybe not idk how highly some gms may value him. I do highly doubt the Leafs would pay that though. I do think if a team isnt willing to slightly overpay for him, blues should really just try to resign him.

(Read that wrong at first, think a bit slower up the middle is more passable than on the wing.) Same goes for ROR especially coming off a broken foot. I know he'd had a down first half the season but alot of that is on the situations hes played and defense/goaltending just not showing up and guys just not converting. I still think he will be the most impactful deadline acquisition for whoever grabs him.
