If Ottawa Wins the Next Two NHL Entry Drafts
On a side note, I actually hope Ottawa becomes a legitimate cup contender, I hope they win a cup very soon (but not before Calgary and Winnipeg lol)

OTT
2022 3rd round pick (WPG)
2024 4th round pick (VAN)
2024 5th round pick (VAN)
VAN
White, Colin
Tierney, Chris
Brown, Connor
Zub, Artem
This is horrible for Ottawa. Would be on par with Dorion pissing away assets for nothing though

dont think van and seattle will be lottery teams as they can both be a playoff team if they hit their stride, but as of right now its not looking pretty

Maybe we can get Savoie, Lambert, Geekie or Kemell if we are lucky this year. And then trade our 2023 1st for someone good. That’s our best case

GM Pierre Dorion is a Legend If Ottawa Wins The Draft Lottery Twice
Ottawa is not a bad team by any means. You guys could EASILY push for a playoff spot in the Atlantic, albeit unlikely. In any other division (other than the metro), Ottawa is a playoff team. True underdogs

While I think you are overestimating value for most of your prospect, I like the idea behind the exercise.

Some of these comparisons were weird, some were too generous and some were not bad.
These 3 guys don't need to be compared as they have played 198+ games in the NHL already
Chabot, Thomas ---> Thomas Chabot
Tkachuk, Brady ---> Brady Tkachuk
White, Colin ---> Colin White
As for the rest, some of these were adjusted. I could think longer for some of them but they're all decent comparisons at least. Doesn't mean all these guys will be as good as the guys they are compared with. For example Greig's game could be comparable to Marchand but chances he reaches his level are extremely small.
Brown, Logan ---> poor man's Spezza
Brännström, Erik ---> Tobias Enstrom
Abramov, Vitaly ---> Evgeni Dadonov
Søgaard, Mads ---> Pekka Rinne
Greig, Ridly ---> poor man's Marchand
Pinto, Shane ---> David Backes
Stützle, Tim ---> poor man's Patrick Kane
Gustavsson, Filip ---> never thought about it
Batherson, Drake ---> Bobby Ryan (healthy)
Norris, Joshua ---> Ryan Kesler
Boucher, Tyler ---> poor man's Tom Wilson
Formenton, Alex ---> Chris Kreider
Sanderson, Jake ---> Jaccob Slavin
Järventie, Roby ---> Roope Hintz
Kleven, Tyler ---> Anton Volchenkov
Sokolov, Egor ---> poor man's Mark Stone
Meriläinen, Leevi ---> never thought about it
Bernard-Docker, Jacob ---> Chris Phillips

Sokolov for Vlasic?
You do realize that one is a stay-at-home defenceman and the other is a scoring winger.

Abramov won;t get anywhere near Tarasenko's career, and he's not even the same type of player.

Stutzle or Byfield?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>leafs_and_devils</b></div><div>byfield for sure. byfield has top 5 center upside. stutzle is good but he will never be anything close to byfield.
that said, for a team on the verge of competing, stutzle is the choice - he's nhl ready, is going to be pretty impactful almost right away as we've seen, and will boost a team from a playoff team to a cup team.
for a rebuilding team, byfield. patience is key. byfield is a project, but if developed correctly - and he's a serious talent so it won't be hard to develop him right - he can become a top 5 or at least top 10 center.</div></div>
Exactly this, Byfield can be amazing but the Kings aren't going to rush him. He will need to prove everything, first that he can take over Vilardi as the 3C, and eventually show he is both defensively and offensively better than Kopitar and Danault before he ready for that 1C. By that time though Stutzle will already be established, so it depends on how quick you want results. If the question is who will have the most points in three seasons, it's Stutzle, if it's who is the better player in three seasons, I think it will be Byfield.
