I liked Timmons, just never healthy. when w Avs he was ranked real high in prospect pool but never panned out, AZ he was injured both seasons, and seems to start hot w TML but fell out of favor. Hope he gets shot and does well somewhere but think lucky to get a late round pick for him (AZ was about to waive him). As for Murray, TML is stuck unless they buy out, whos got that cap space (rebuilders) and they gonna want picks (multiple) to take that contract.

I would only sit McCabe because Giordano had 24 points with a -/+ of +27 but McCabe is still solid

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MurraysGloveSide</b></div><div>Kressler alone is nowhere near enough to dump the Murray Contract. Arizona knowing the Leaf's cap situation probably demands a 2nd+. </div></div>
I don't even think it's about knowing the Leafs are painted into a corner. I don't think Arizons want the salary that comes with the contract, even if it was a 2nd+. They already have two decent goaltenders on decent contracts. The only team that can buy out Murray now is the Leafs, because they waited until after the first buyout window, and the second window only works on guys you had at the TDL. So you can't throw out a 2nd and say to another team, "He's your problem now. Just buy him out."
Someone has to pay him $6 million in real dollars in addition to eating the cap. Pretty sure it won't be Arizona. I don't think the Leafs want to give up what it would take to offload him, so they just need to bite the bullet and buy him out. Or trade someone else to make cap room and sit on him for a year without the cap penalty in 24-25.
Either way it's ugly, and teams will all tell you "Not my problem". Chicago is one of the few teams with deep pockets and cap space, but they are going to want to get paid well for the inconvenience.

At this point Kressler alone does not return a 4th, forget another pick and that cap dump called Murray that will likely take at least a 2nd to move. And Timmins is not getting you anything close to a 3rd. There is some serious over valuing here.

Kressler alone is nowhere near enough to dump the Murray Contract. Arizona knowing the Leaf's cap situation probably demands a 2nd+. The Timmins deal is realisitic although I wish we had a spot for him in the lineup because he has decent upside. I don't think we should give up on Robertson just yet.

Matt Murray is owed 8m dollars. Leafs are gonna have to pay a steep price to dump that contract, and you won't be getting 4th rd picks back. An undrafted prospect doesn't offset the 8M+

Winnipeg isn't going to overpay to help Toronto out with their cap. It will cost Toronto if they want cap relief.

Haha AZ is going to give a 2nd and 3rd for a G they don’t need (with a horrible contract) and a D they gave you for nothing last season, even by TML standards this is beyond ridiculous

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BlastyRocks</b></div><div>Agreed but there is that little issue of $1.3M of additional Cap to fit him in!</div></div>
For sure, and that's why I'm saying that it would need to involve trading one of Tanev/Hanifin to make sense. I would argue that he was Toronto's 2nd best D since they signed him, and they've been a very good team for a while. Personally, I don't know if Brodie wants to come back here, but I would certainly love to have him here, despite the occasional gaffes.

I would accept in a heartbeat. Brodie is a clear upgrade on Zadorov. The only thing that gives me pause is that we already have 3 RD in Andersson, Tanev, and Weegar(can play both sides). That said this trade looks like an over-payment for Z, so I will be looking at what other deals can be made. If we could trade Hanifin/Tanev for a good package this trade would make a ton of sense.
Weegar - Andersson
Kylington - Tanev
Stetcher - Brodie
Now that's solid all around. With the option of Brodie/Kylington switching places. It really makes the Flames transition game go up a notch in my book.

for TML to include the dump of Murray the rest of the proposal needs to be way sweeter than that.

Besides, I saw a report a while ago saying that your team was going to try and switch to win now mode (which, lol).</div></div>
Or you could propose a trade which actually makes sense to you which the other team could realistically accept, rather than tearing others down.

Me and everyone else on this thread it seems.
Thank you for being so patient with us poor fools who clearly don't understand what it's like to have Mitch Marner play for the team you support and therefore could not possibly understand how to evaluate a trade for him! We really don't deserve your magnanimity...
By all rights, the Jackets should probably be offering a minority ownership in the team just to have the right to trade for Marner!
