Pick Swapping with MTL and SEA
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bmurch</b></div><div>Yea that's all true, if this trade were to happen it would need to be after the 13 picks are revealed to see who is available at 14, because if Reinbacher somehow drops that far or if Yager drops, I can see Montreal doing it as we have a lot of decent prospects but are lacking high quality prospects which we need more of.</div></div>
The only thing I see different is that Montreal would rather take the cap dump in Granlund instead of giving up the Florida 1st and Habs 2nd. That contract here is bought out with a 1.8M cap hit in the following 3 seasons after 2024. The Pens much rather have the cap flexibility and Montreal has the cap space to weaponize

Draft pick swap
No, Arizona needs more high end talent not less.

Draft pick swap
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pensman69</b></div><div>ARI declines and according to my draft chart I’m looking at that’s an overpay heavy in MTL favor.
5 OA - 8.2
6 OA - 7.6
12 OA - 5.5
8.2 to 13.1. Yea… that’s pretty one sided…</div></div>
Where is this chart from? Is it the same chart every year or is it customised to the depth of the draft. Because with such a strong draft I don't think those values make sense tbh. And I agree this draft is top5 heavy.

A trade we arent talking about
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Campabee</b></div><div>I keep saying this but here it goes again
Most experts and charts have our combined picks being worth the following
33 + 62 = 20
26 + 62 = 17
26 + 33 = 10
why would Montreal move picks 26 + 33 which has a value of 10th for pick 17? They would not!</div></div>
Not just that but in this particular year where teams have certain players in the first round with a 20 place rankings difference, it makes even less sense to overpay to move up. If anything teams should be paying to move down. This year will be all about how many darts you have to aim at the board. Covid completely screwed up player development.

Kings 2022
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ritzy</b></div><div>Seems as though the asking price for MTL defenseman across the board these days is a first and prospect.
And you've asked for retention? Crazy talk.</div></div>
Your team would've been in the 2nd round with edmundson in the lineup, and blah blah blah, we were all crazy before chiarot lehkonen kulak and toffoli got traded

This is reality Habs fans
Anderson isn’t actually good obviously and he should be worth a 3rd like you said, but theoretical value =/= perceived trade value by NHL GMs. Hughes said that he declined some Anderson trades since he got the GM job, including some at the deadline. That means that there is clearly interest for Anderson across the league and I doubt those GMs were offering a 3rd round pick, as if they really want him they must think he’s good, hence must be offering decent value to get him. He’s probably going to get like a first in value and other fans around the league are gonna be baffled.
It’s just like the Chiarot trade. People on this site kept telling Habs fans that Chiarot won’t get a 1st at the deadline and he ended up getting one. Many Habs fans on here making Anderson trades on AGMs don’t think Anderson is good enough to warrant a first, but they simply think that, in this market, he’ll prob fetch a good return that will surprise many. While many Anderson trades on here are a bit crazy obviously (he’s not getting you a top 10 pick lol), it’s not crazy to claim he’ll get much more than a 3rd, especially since he was acquired for Domi (who was a good 2C back then) + a 3rd after an injury-riddled off year.
