I think it's a non-issue. I don't put much stock in some of the more "TMZ" style storylines those talking heads can sometimes cling to. Like I said, Sutter is just a really odd dude. He obviously understands the game at a very high level, but his communication style is just so strange. Granted we only see the press version and not the locker room Sutter, but he doesn't strike me as a guy that changes his behavior much behind closed doors. I mean can you imagine having someone like him as your boss with that communication style? It'd be a nightmare.

Shakeup 5
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BoeserSZNMNBoy</b></div><div>Hope you take this as constructive argument, & not attack, or rude from me: if so I apologize
Sean Monahan: he's not worth that offer. One, he just had a 2nd major hip surgery. Second, flames want him out because he basically put up a wall. Monahan, & John G contributed to negative Season for them even with their new coach
I remember sean Monahan hitting a certain milestone this season, & Daryl suter openly saying in media he didn't give a damn
Also his issues with hiring of Daryl Suter hiring needs to be investigated
For travis K, he's not worth that much value either. He's expansive also, & wild shouldn't be trading for player's whose cap are that when wild need to resign fiala, Joel Eriksson Ek, Kaprizov, Kaapo kahkonen, & Nico sturm along with putting a roster together</div></div>
No worries at all - I'm not taking anything you said as rude. I appreciate any feedback that has thought or substance, whether I agree or not. It's the lazy, unhelpful answers that I find annoying.
You gave me a lot to unpack, but starting with Monahan, I think he's worth it. His cost is reasonable, and his upside is pretty significant. MIN has depth, so he wouldn't be expected to be THE guy, but he'd also be put in a situation where he can succeed - i.e not stuck playing with garbage. Culturally, I think he'd like the quieter market and could really buy into what Guerin is building. I'm not aware of any off-ice or coaching issues with Monahan, but I'll take your word on that. I'd just remark that I find it almost appalling more players don't have conflict with Suter. I don't think I've seen a single interview where he comes of as a normal person - he's almost deliberately weird and awkward, so to me that's a total non-issue.
Regarding TK, he's a great player. I have no doubt in my mind that he gets 50 points playing with Fiala. But more importantly, he'd help Fiala achieve his full potential.
Finally, on the subject on contracts, in this model, I actually do have Ek, Fiala and Kap all resigned. I just barely came in under the cap, but signing those 3 was priority number 1. In this model, there is concern over signing Boldy and Rossi, but I didn't project out the full numbers that far.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Aero_Astro_Guy</b></div><div>I like the idea to clinch Lind and Juolevi + a 2nd</div></div>
Juolevi would be stuck on the 3rd pair for years. Might as well just have O'Rourke fill that roll in 2 years for within. Lind hasn't done much of note. Both are waiver fodder next year if they get beat out by someone.
MN needs to shift into win now mode, not bank more futures for dead cap.

If I'm not mistaken, I think he's saying OTT would retain some of Z's salary. I think this is probably as good of a deal as MIN can expect for Dumba. I don't care if it's a weird draft year, a 10/11th OA pick is very nice.

Overreaction to the Tampa series
I'd be hesitant, but willing, to move Fiala for a <em>legitimate</em> first line center but Teravainen plays wing. Seems like a mostly lateral move to me.

Monahan and Schmaltz to MIN

1) Vancouver
2)Dallas
3) Buffalo
4)New Jersey
5) Carolina
6) COLORADO
Just teams I can think of that had massive COVID outbreaks. “ it’s not that difficult to follow the safety guidelines and stay healthy” yeah seems effortless lol. I honestly wonder if people actually think before they talk. Not that difficult and having multiple teams shutdown for COVID cases aren’t the same thing guy.
Can’t say the same thing for Kuzy? Do you know if he’s sober or not? Are you just assuming that bc that’s the easy narrative? Seems intelligent but I expected that from the way this conversation started lol
Doesn’t matter how many people got COVID? It’s a extremely contagious virus. Lol 33.2m people got it and you are talking like it’s uncommon and reckless to have gotten it lol. He could have got it from the grocery store or from his wife. You have no clue.</div></div>
Just because other young multi-millionaires also got covid does not absolve Kuznetsov from responsibility for his actions. “What about him” is a stupid response when we’re discussing Kuzy’s decisions. He blatantly disregarded covid guidelines and was caught and suspended as a result, so it’s not like he was innocent and happened to get it at the store or whatever. He was not doing his best to ensure he didn’t get it, and wasn’t even following the simplest of rules to ensure the health and safety of himself and good teammates. And then he got it again later. He hasn’t earned the benefit of the doubt. We don’t know if Kuzy’s sober or not, but that incident certainly shows a pattern of decision making that supports this narrative regarding his recent decisions in showing a lack of growth/maturity. At the end of the day he’s an adult and a professional getting paid a lot of money to stay healthy and play a sport, and he couldn’t do the bare minimum to ensure that happened.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DogDayCaps2</b></div><div>Oh like when he did coke 3 years ago or him getting COVID LIKE 33.2m other people in America? “Severe character issues” is severely dramatic lol. Yeah I’ll take the guy who scores at a 70 point pace when healthy all day.
Robin L was a massive alcoholic does he have character issues?</div></div>
1. If you think that’s the only time he did coke you’re delusional lol, that’s just the only time he was caught because he was stupid enough to let it get recorded.
2. It doesn’t matter how many other people got covid? 3. Lehner went to rehab and was at least 2 years sober, assuming it’s over 3 years now but he hasn’t exactly updated (not that he has to). Can’t say the same for Kuznetsov.

Kuzy to MN
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KVS1</b></div><div>1st line centers don't go on the market very often. When the Caps won the cup he led the playoffs in scoring. He has scored 80 points in a season. He is a top 15-20 Center. Not one C of the Wild is a top 30. He is a great skater and passer, just what Super K needs to become a top ten player. Schultz is no slacker. Can run a power play. Did in Pitt. Second group with Caps only because of Carlson. Boldy has proven nothing. Prospect but may become nothing. Plus MN gets a second pick to play with. Both teams take risk. You are going to lose Dumba one way or another, either to Seattle or a trade. This makes a lot of sense for both teams.</div></div>
Means exactly nothing. Kuzy's not a 1C, he's a high-end 2C with severe character issues. He's not worth a Top 50 prospect of Boldy's caliber. Disagree with me all you want. We don't want Kuznetsov.

He could also turn Kaprizov into a coke head with an attitude problem. There's a reason Washington is willing to trade him. Too big of a risk for us so no thanks.

i dont know if minnesota would give up boldy or rossi unless it was for eichel. Kuznetsov disappeared this season and has been getting into to trouble due to not following covid protocal and also all the cocaine issues that he has been dealing with i dont think he will have as much value as he once did. maybe kuznetsov for dumba straight up but idk kuznetsov has a real bad rep now on and off the ice and i cant see minnesota who is just needing one more center to make a serious run would want a locker room cancer coming in and stirring up a storm. I cant see minnesota trading for a center over the age of 26 aswell as they have a young forward core (fiala, kaprizov, greenway, JEE, Rossi, Boldy)
