I love Crouse but Kovalenko takes that spot already. MacK fought Dumba, so not sure if he's a good fit in the locker room. For the playoffs, I'd prefer more beef. I honestly wouldn't mind Chiarot, especially to give Manson some help in the physicality dept.

I'd love to add Crouse, but this has been the problem with getting another high value player. The Avs' most valuable assets are on D, but they're in a situation now in which getting much better on offense means a big hole on D. Especially in the Yotes' case, there isn't much more the Avs can give them that they'd really value. They certainly don't need more draft picks.
I agree that Avs need some solid 4th line guys to come on board, either as FAs or guys coming up through the system. The only other option is to try to moderately improve on someone like LOC if they thought there was a decent player swap out there where they're confident the guy they get back would bring greater production.

I would like crouse just to fill in the body presence that we lost in landy, i think we've addressed the scoring but the body for playoffs could really help out. I also think if dumba was in our system he would improve as well. Minny plays such a boring style of hockey dumba isn't built for it, where i think we'd be downgrading from girard to him, i don't think the gap would be as big as some people think.

Completing the third and depths
Kovalenko is probably one more year away, but they are definitely keeping one of the top 6 spots warm for him after this year. Whoever we sign for the last forward spot needs to be someone we can slot into the top 6 in a pinch if Drouin just doesn't have it this year. That being said, I think Pius Suter fits that mold to a degree. Wouldn't mind seeing him on our team.

Solid cheap center with term costs more than what’s here. Sharks don’t have cap trouble and will be bad anyway so Vlasic doesn’t matter. Couture and EK are playing fine

well, you're missing 3 players for a legal team here so you're going to have to make some concessions, and that's a fairly easy one

I don't foresee the panthers moving from reinhart tbh. I'd wait out this bad cap year if i were them.
I dont really see any reason to bring Sturm back. He's good, but meyers probably fills that position fine with an offseason of work - every team is going to facing this cap crunch and 4th lines are going to, in general, be suffering for it

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bradshaw97</b></div><div>Yea I agree, with the cap supposedly going up multiple millions 24-25 I could see that much room left while also leaving enough the following year for Mikko but honestly it sounds grim forLandy ever being what he was.</div></div>
Yeah he won't be worth the 7 mil he's making if he comes back at all, major surgeries two years removed from hockey, not looking good. i think the ideal scenario is he waits till playoffs one year comes back when it doesn't effect the cap and then probily calls it a career when he knows he can't do it anymore. One more cup and call it before he has issues just walking in 10 years.

If factor wanted to do a 2 year deal i'd take that but i wouldn't go trading away newhook then, i think he'd be a great mentor for him and he can step into that position in a year and move oreilly down to 3C if he's ready.
As for girard crouse swap i'm pretty impartial, i think we do need a physical presence with landy on the shelf, but with trading girard away you would have to make sure atleast 15 mil is available next year if landy comes back and to resign toews.

Besides the value, it would be shocking to see LA move Vilardi after all that he's gone through with the organization and after his breakout season this year.
Can't see LA doing this, but it's certainly something different to think about.</div></div>
i would argue that everyone one outside of kings fan would say toews and roy are not in the same league. (other fan base if you disagree say something!)

Columbus does need a 2nd pair LHD but they aren’t trading Jenner (who is their 1c) for one that is also a rental and will be a UFA at the end of next season.
Columbus isn’t in a spot to be paying a premium for rentals.

Toews is good enough and CBJ could really use him, so COL could drop the 4th and still get Jenner, Foudy, and more from CBJ. If not, COL shouldn't do it.

Newhook and Byram likely get more. Drouin is "meh". I like Miles Wood. I do like the ROR signing for one year rather than trading someone right now but I still hate the idea of Toews walking to UFA. I know some people are optimistic he'll take a discount in exchange for term and stick around but I wouldn't count on it.
