Gustavsson, Daccord, Sogard, Hogberg, Mandolese. So many choices. Worst case trade a B- prospect and a 2nd rounder for Georgiev

Easily Filip Gustavsson could be the Sens goalie (in like 2-3 years)

I want to see Ylonen on American Ice before we trade him. There's a reason he was drafted 35th overall last year.
We aren't trading Tatar for a 1st and also giving you Leskinen. Tatar is worth more than that alone.

I was pushing for a deal based around Ratcliffe for Shaw early in the summer. Woulda made a lot of sense.

Wings should take byfield over alexis, even if first overall, he slides in right behind Larkin as #2 center.

who is your take for most surprising team this year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BrandonMcD11</b></div><div>I would be silly to say the Leafs miss the playoffs with that sort of FWD firepower.
I could also see some regression from the FWDs as I think the league will have a lot less scoring this year.
Not a lot of NHL quality depth and after Reilly and Barrie...not much there on the back end.
I'm gonna go wildcard team. Another 1st round exit.</div></div>
Rielly Barrie and <strong>Muzzin</strong>
Will be interesting to see how Rielly and Ceci play together tomorrow on what should be a more finalized roster. To me ceci could go either way.
Sandin looks very good and then it’s just a matter of pairing him up with someone till Dermott gets back.
I think the worst case scenario is ceci on a bottom pair with Marincin and a top four of muzzin/ Barrie Rielly/Dermott.
Matthews back with Nylander will be a huge boost on that line. The Tavares line may regress this year. Not saying they won’t be good but last year was pretty amazing.
The bottom 6 is still a work in progress but that will be tinkered with.
The competition in the Atlantic will be insane. I could certainly see them taking 5 spots in the playoffs.

Lottery winner
Honestly, I don't think Detroit is bad enough this year to win the lottery. They have some really nice young pieces that should see extended NHL time this year. Will they still be a lottery team? Yes, but I wouldn't be surprised if they finished 8th or 9th worst in the league, as opposed to landing a potential top-3 pick. They are trending in the right direction, which is good for the franchise, but bad for the Lafreniere hopes.

"Wilson, Tom
WSH
Danault, Phillip
Ylönen, Jesse [Reserve List]
2020 2nd round pick (MTL)"
No, but thanks.
Wilson and Danault are both great defensive forwards, and they were on pace for the same number of points last year. Wilson is a year younger, with three more years of term, and is a bunch tougher, whether or not that's more valuable than Danault being good at faceoffs. I don't know much about Ylonen, but if he and a 2nd were enough for three years of either Wilson or Danault, we'd probably hear about him all the time on here.
I do think a two-year rental on Danault fits the Caps' remaining window before Ovechkin hits UFA, and they might be interested in trying him out at 2C or 3C. But not at the cost of their 1R. Obviously with him hitting UFA the same year as Ovechkin, the team is going to prioritize its greatest player of all time, so they would have to look at Danault as probably just a two year rental, but those can still bring decent value.

He isn't even being offered 8M at the moment from the reports we've been hearing...... That's the thing. Tampa is offering between 6-7M on a 3 year deal. Probably not front loaded like a MTL OS would be either.
Plus we'd have to not discount the fact that Montreal, like Toronto would an easy place to market yourself to make plenty of extra cash if he wanted to offset the tax difference. The one thing MTL can't offset is the weather.... There's no beating around the bush, winter's here ******* suck.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jetman</b></div><div>Point will make more post tax earnings at 9M in Tampa then 10.5M in MTL....Thats why he wont do it.</div></div>
We're all in understanding that TB cannot sign point to 9M right? They'd have to trade a major piece in order to make room and the season is starting in two weeks. He's being offered in the range of 6-7M at 3 years.
Not sure why you're all saying he'd decline this for sure..... he's either accepting this offer sheet because its more than he'll make in Tampa the next 3 years at least or taking the discount in Tampa because he wants to stay there. I simply believe he wants to stay with Tampa but there's no rush to accept an offer he probably feels is low but he will most likely sign it eventually. Tampa cannot give point what he wants without trading a 3-4M player... so its one or the other.

so he's ahead of Mathews ,Schiefele , Kucherov , Stamkos , Gaudreau , Kane and Drisatl coming off a 50 goal season ?
i mean top 15 top players i buy
but comparing him to Generational stars seems like as much of a reach a Habs including Domi in the conversation
FLA likely keeps him but deals we think will never happen define todays cap strapped NHL and thanks to NHL players salary being subject to Escrow the chances of the Salary going up again in the next 3 years are slim as it just means more money is held from the players pay.FLA is a welfare team that's had the league subsidizing its operation costs for the better part of 17 years now because FLA doesnt make money and if it wasnt in a place without State Taxation players would have agreed to stop going there a long time ago .
They need players like Domi who are so involved off ice to put butts in seats
otherwise they're just always going to be that regular season team who never makes a playoff no matter how many elite players they have
