Doubt WPG wants Dach or that he would be traded before he even plays a game for MTL.

Agreed. Primeau has a decent ceiling, but Nashville can't afford to pass up on the sky-high potential that Askarov has. Only way I could see them ever potentially moving him is if it's for a major upgrade to the lineup.

That might be the case, but with Drouin being a rental he isn’t likely to be in Columbus when they are truly a competitive team, at least Texier is still an RFA after next season. I’d say you could probably get Texier for Calgary’s 1st if you really wanted him.

competitive yet still retool
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BrandonMcD11</b></div><div>Yeah Byron mightve not been the right player. Maybe Drouin for Greenway swap?</div></div>
Greenway is cheaper and under team control for 3 years at a reasonable rate. Wild can’t swap and take on almost double the cap hit for next year. Fiala or Dumba for futures or elc impact players is what they need.

Thread:
competitive yet still retool
Greenway is signed for 3x$3M - an affordable middle-6 guy on a team that can't really afford to bring in any cap. So Byron is a no-go for Minnesota; so is Drouin, Hoffman, or any other middle-6 guy that Montreal currently has signed. I can really only see them moving him for a middle-6 guy on an ELC, and Montreal's got nothing that fits that.

Greenway doesn’t seem like the right body to clear for MIN. Fiala or Dumba are most realistic. That being said, sending cap back their way doesn’t make sense, especially in this deal where they’re downgrading talent.

Price is likely done, not looking good so far at all.
No way MIN trade Greenway for Byron, they just signed him so chances are they want to keep him.
Petry more likely than not will be moved.

Honestly i dont see anything very inticing on the Leafs that we would be able to get for Domi. Id be interested in Nylander but would obviously need to give Domi+. Not sure. Im glad i dont have to make these sort of decisions.</div></div>
I appreciate the feedback. I wasn't sure if you guys would be willing to take a package of Kerfoot, Johnsson n Dermott plus a 2nd or something. I figured I was probably out to lunch and based on what you and <a href="/users/leafs101" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@leafs101</a> said I was. You don't know unless you ask and I appreciate both of your honest replies. Cheers and good luck next year.

Y'all are nuts if you don't think Colorado seriously considers this. All those assets for a guy that's never played a game in the NHL? That's ridiculously overpriced and Sakic should be fired for not taking it. & Beregvin would be fires for offering it. As good as people think Byram might be, he's still just a prospect. There's nothing saying Colorado wouldn't get a guy just as good with any of the 3 picks given up, plus they'd have all those other good players already.

You aren’t going to get what you want and you’ll be stuck with him and Monahan. No one is emptying out top prospects for them, especially Monahan

I've said a bunch of times today that I think Columbus and Montreal could get together on a Domi for Anderson and (Savard or Murray goes here) type of deal. Not saying that's exactly the package, but there's a fit on both sides.

I dont see it. Kessell isnt a Rod Brind'Amour type player. Heck he has be highly sheltered the last 5 years having a 60+% ozone start. We dont typically roll that way. We want everyone to play as much of a 200 foot game as possible. Hence why Skinner didnt stick around.

You don't often see a team this young be this good in the AHL. All their top scorers are 1997's or younger (Lead by Norris at 50 points as an 19 years-old!!)
In their last 10 games, they are 9-1-0.
Unbelievable.

yup hes been on fire. Norris and a top 5 pick for Karlsson plus a bunch of other really good pieces. Im sorry but I dont think we lost that trade at all. I think we did as good as Colorado did on that Duchene trade and probably even better.
