honestly if it was a deal involving pageau and pulock now thats a deal. Pageau takes on a 2c role and Pulock with Morissey would be deadly. Jets would need to send a 3rd back to even it out but could be worth.
or
Beauvillier + Pulock + low pick.</div></div>
If you wanted a winger Eberle/Bailey would be the one the isles part with. I wouldn't move Beau or Pageau. isles have a lack of scoring touch and I like these two, they can put the puck in the net

Genuine prediction
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Isles777</b></div><div>I think the scheme is a part of the problem as well. Toews and barzal are among the best in the league at entering the zone. Nelson and beau also good excel at zone entries. The main problem is the lack of shooting talent, which is why bellows should have never been sent down. What do you think mike Hoffman does? He doesn't move around much, he just stays in one spot and waits for someone to set him up.
If the isles were desperate about improving their powerplay in February , they would have went with:
PP1: Toews-pulock-barzal-beauvillier-lee. Pulock in the ovi spot, beau across from him. Gives them 2 solid one timer options.
PP2: Dobson-eberle-bellows-nelson-bailey. Run the powerplay through bellows.</div></div>
I think in a year or two that PP2 would be sick when eberle is hot. Pulock does need to be a solidified ovi spot guy because his stick work gets shaky but boy does he clap a puck well

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Isles777</b></div><div>The isles PP was ranked 24th - if torey krug was the PP QB it wouldn't be much better. The lack of shooting talent is why the isles powerplay isn't good.</div></div>
The lack of ability to get in the offensive zone, stay in the offensive zone, connect passes in the offensive zone, and after overcoming all that getting a decent chance in the offensive zone was the issue. Then once they got a decent chance their shooting talent is subpar besides Nelson and beau

Genuine prediction
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Isles777</b></div><div>Staple is always wrong when it comes to contract projections lol. Toews gets around 20 min a game, PP1 QB, that’s worth more than 2.5, even with his poor playoff performance.
Friedman mentioned Detroit is interested in Andy Greene , if they offer him more than 1 mill, he’s gone. Hopefully he wants to stay local.
If Parise trade is going to happen, It wouldn’t be until later in the offseason IMO. I think Leddy gets traded soon and toews gets signed first.</div></div>
Only thing idk if being the PP1 QB of one of the worst, if not the worst, PP in the league benefits his contract situation.

Adding Bobby Buckets
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Isles777</b></div><div>Gostisbehere is overpaid and he was a healthy scratch during the playoffs.
A lot of isles fans are overreacting to toews bad playoff performance. Despite that, he’s still our best two way defenseman. He’s by far the best at generating offense and he’s well above average defensively.
I can see him getting 3 mill x 2 , 4 mill x 4, or 4.5-5 mill long term.</div></div>
I just worry that the isles are going to be paying him 4.5M to be the third best LD on the team. He could get PP minutes but it isn't like we produce on the PP at all so that value doesn't matter all that much

I would disagree. I think Gostisbehere plays better against better teams. But regardless, the point is that players like him, kelfbom, Reilly, Werenski, Gardner, McAvoy get paid 4-5M all of which have more experience and have proven to be better than Toews. Can't pay a guy who is going to be a bottom 2D on the team 4.5 per without proving he's worth it. Unless it was a longer term deal (4+) then I would say he could get 4per max.

Adding Bobby Buckets
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>newballcoach</b></div><div>I would think they'd want to move as many of those bad contracts as possible. But so are others so there are definitely going to be teams stuck with bad money. There aren't easy to buy out contracts on the Isles either (except for maybe Hickey if you don't want to play him).
The only downside to this is that it will be tough to add to the roster for those two years. With Pelech, Beauvilier and Sorokin coming up RFA's before that you either need more bridge deals (too many are not a good idea) or needing to move one. Tough but flat cap land is trouble for all.</div></div>
Yea that's a good point. I think maybe 3 years would be better on the bridge deals then next offseason move Ladd/Boychuk with a 2nd or 3rd + B prospect. Just to save the few firsts we have

Adding Bobby Buckets
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>newballcoach</b></div><div>Although 2 years is a strange amount of time for a bridge deal, I could see that working with the current cap situation. It gets Boychuk and Hickey off the books and by that time the cap might be increasing as well. I could see giving Toews a bit more, but going 2 years with Barzal and Toews may be the smartest.
I think the Kings trade is realistic because although Leddy does have value, get out from Komorov is important. LA has room and doesn't want to part with higher draft picks. If you're willing to essentially give away an asset, this would work (Lou doesn't like to do that though).</div></div>
The two years is for the exact reason you explained. I think cap wise the Kings trade is the best case. If I were GM I would love that trade. But if they want to move the Ladd/Boychuk contracts I can see trade just being Leddy, then maybe Bailey goes. A lot of moving parts

Getting creative
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Joshhaggstrom</b></div><div>So I looked at that when putting the trade together. With Nelson at 1C, Barzal or Nelson at 2C, and then either Cizikas or Pageau at 3C, they do have loads of options but it would mean that you either have Pageau play 4C who is earning 5M or Cizikas who is making 3.35M. Given that Lou has to resign Barzal and currently only has 8.9M in cap I would expect Lou to move a contract and thats before you take into account that he will need to resign Pulock and Toews. Now I don't know much about the two D but I'm pretty sure that Barzal is gonna demand a cap of anywhere from 6-9M which means they don't bring back Brassard, Martin and Kuhnhackl opening up three roster spots two of which played a lot this year and more than likely the need to fill the PK. I think the biggest reason why this trade is even an option, Barry Trotz who had beagle as player in Wsh when they won the cup and know what he can do to help a team. But honestly it just seems like a prefect fit and would allow Lou to move out contracts and open up space</div></div>
good thoughts. If the isles move cizikas this offseason they may take on beagle. Barzy will prob get 8.5, pulock 5.25 and Toews 3. With Leddy moved which is their best option that puts them at just able to resign the RFAs let alone bring any UFAs back. They'll be cheap, 1-2M, but the isles may end up getting rid of assets which they can regain by selling zeeker for a 3rd or 4th in addition to the leddy deal, then leaving time and space on the 4th line and PK.
