Lines from Day 3 of Camp
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsFan77</b></div><div>I'm surprised that KK is above Suzuki but I don't think it matters to much right now.</div></div>
the top 3 lines could be considered mid to low 1st lines or really high 2nd lines. the fourth and fifth lines would be many teams 3rd lines. What a great issue to have IMO.

Well there hasn’t really been an opportunity for a team to pay that ask. Deal during the season wasn’t going to happen because he wouldn’t have qualified to play in any playoffs so that leaves majority of teams out of the mix. Teams outside playoff picture won’t offer a first until they see where it lands in the draft. If a trade was to happen it’s an offseason move.

Stop. We don’t have cap space for Fast this year, and especially in the future. And Alzner adds an extra $3.6 million.

Mete got a huge overpayment for starters. He'll barely crack the Habs' top 6 let alone top 4 next year. And Domi is inconsistent, so 6 mil might be an overpayment as well. Let's focus on locking up the talent we have right now :)

Domi trade choose and why
#1 choice would be Mantha. He is a hometown kid and has the size the Habs crave. I am OK giving up Struble as long as Mantha takes 3+ years in his next deal.
#2 choice would be Ehlers, and I think your return is fair. That's a good trade. However, the Habs can't really take Ehlers until they have a plan for Drouin and/or Tatar. Habs would still need to find another (ideally more talented) Armia-type player.
#3 is Brodin, and that cost isn't too high. The wildcard is just how good will Romanov be and how soon will he reach that level?
I'm not excited by the others. Kane is great, but too old and $$$$. Anderson, if healthy, is great, but I don't want to be the team waiting for him to be released from the infirmary.

Here’s the problem, he’s a genius.
Every time there is something large to add he does it.
We need centres, he picks kk and trades for Suzuki ✅
We need to move on from Pacioretty, he acquires Tatar who is a fan favourite/solid player and suzuki✅
We need a locker room/ attitude change, he trade chucky for domi✅
Last draft we need a sniper, he drafts cole caufield ✅
We need a backup to take pressure off of price, gets allen✅
Our lhd prospects sucked, then he gets Romanov, norlinder,Harris,✅
He keeps extending his time and reputation by getting the major criticisms done. We haven’t been successful but a couple of years price has been hurt, last year missed by two points and this year beat Pitts and was in every game against Philadelphia.
HES A GENIUS

3-way Deal
Mantha has never broken the 50 point ceiling (injury or not). Det fans here are overvaluing him. The above trade isn't enough of a return, no, but it's not far off.
Domi and the 17th Overall is pretty fair IMO.
But Det won't trade him anyways.
Personally, I don't think Mantha wants to wait much longer to be in the playoffs. He'll soon be 26 yrs old and has 0 playoff experience.

Also for Montreal, would you try Vlasic or Matheson as a left dman ?</div></div>
Gourde I'd sign to like 2.75M for 1 year, and Wennberg about 2M for 1 year
And maybe I'd try Matheson, but definitely not Vlasic. If I'm going for Matheson I'm going to give him $2.5M for 1 year

I do think Moore's contract is a bit high (and 3 more years) for an often injured/getting older dman and that's why I think he is a potential CBO. Maybe some team will offer a 6th or 7th pick for him, true. I might be wrong, that's why I asked for your opinion cause your a Bruins fan and I'm not.</div></div>
Yeee,
Yeah a team that needs to round out their top 6 d would absolutely give up a 6th or 7th, its just a matter of who.
Also check out one of my ACGMs that I believe is titled "Dont need to trade Moore" or something like that. They dont, they can wait till next year, and maybe even get a 4th or 5th out of him when the Market changes again.

Exactly even with a flat cap, moving anyone off the roster is going to bring back a fair return.

There will be interest in Johnsson and it will be a much better return than a 6th. Especially if there is a CBO in the off season, if that happens, a team like Edmonton or New York Islanders or many other teams with more than 1 really bad contract on the books will look at Johnsson as a way to get rid of another bad contract and upgrade a position. The Islanders could move Boychuck and something rather sizeable as far as a pick or prospect for Johnsson and then TO can just buyout Boychuck. Or Andrew Ladd if Islander fans lose their mind about it. The Islanders need space to sign Barzal and their defence and eventually Dobson and others, their long term cap situation is easily the worst in the league and getting rid of one or 3 of their bad contracts is going to be paramount if they want to prevent cap Armageddon.</div></div>

There are a lot of teams that would benefit from him and have the space to add him. This whole, he's a camp dump because of flat cap ideal is not accurate I believe.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>If Kesler is gonna be a lifer on LTIR, there is no reason for Ducks to CBO him. Actually under the CBA, teams can't buyout a player on LTIR.
Leafs need to shed cap (like a lotta teams), so Johnsson would be my choice as a CBO since the Leafs have a winger replacement. But Johnsson is tradeable with no cap returned, even if the return to the Leafs is modest.</div></div>
Likely they could trade him to a team with a CBO for additional assets and save that team money. Like Edmonton for Neal and a couple of picks one being a 2nd or a prospect. Then Edmonton could buy out Russel and really shed cap space.

I cant see LA buying out Brown. There would probably be a mob of LA fans with pitchforks and torches coming at Rob Blake all over LA if he did that. I really can only see one person and that is Jeff Carter but he is currently rehabbing from his core muscle surgery he had a couple weeks ago(aka Sidney Crosby injury this season) Also there probably would have been one more person if Blake never made the Campbell & cliffy to Leafs. I would add Quick but not anymore.

He's worth a lot more than a 6th rounder. He's a good player on a good contract. There are guys who don't produce much more than him, are older and people think they have more value than Johnsson. "But his knee injury" McDavid and Human both just came off knee injuries and they both had terrific seasons. But Johnsson won't because that makes the argument for him being worthless seem a little more reasonable. It doesn't Johnsson has values.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ConnorMcHellebucyk</b></div><div>Johnsson could make a serious case.
In almost all Agms I see with Toronto, he’s being traded off.</div></div>
Because he's the most replaceable player on the Leafs who makes more than a million. It's not because he isn't valuable. He's a very good player on a team friendly deal. He's exactly the type of player Edmonton should want. Fast, young, capable of playing in the NHL and on a team friendly deal. TO's problem is they have too many good player and it means someone is going to have to go. TO has more solid lefty options than righties so trading Kapanen doesn't make as much sense. Personally I think Johnsson is better than Kapanen, he has more skill and more tools in the shed but we have Mikheyev, Robertson, Engval, Barbarov etc that can all play in the bottom or mid 6. This is why Johnsson gets traded all the time. Not because he isn't worth having but because it's a cap world and the Leafs have many players worth keeping around. If the Cap went up by 2-3 million this summer, this wouldn't be the case.
