And that "poverty franchise" has made it past the first round the same number of times the leafs have in the last 10 years.</div></div>
No need to get your panties all knotted up buddy😂. I did not realize that people would take a joke post so seriously. The point of this post was that I’m sick of the pens, who on paper should be a much better team, losing. None of this was meant to be take seriously. I am not sure what the hell the leafs have to do with this because I never once said anything about the leafs here. The blue jackets are a terrible franchise who have nothing to show for all of the years that they have been a team. Yes they have had a few great players and a few of their teams have been very solid but they have never been consistently good enough to be taken seriously. Columbus is where players go to end there career.

Calm down I know it must be hard to have a poverty franchise but this post was not meant to be taken seriously so don’t worry nobody is coming to steal the blue jackets Russians. Also since when are the blue jackets the pens rivals. The blue jackets have not ever had a good enough team to have a rivalry 😂

No offence but the flames 4th line is atrocious. Adding all around good young depth guys would really benefit this team. And the flames problem is not totally scoring, it is overpaid players

And they're not much younger. We already don't have enough roster spots for our own players and neither guy is much of an upgrade on what we already have if at all.</div></div>
I get where you are coming from but logistically this would be a beneficial for both teams. All I think that could be added here is a second going to the flames

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bobrick</b></div><div>Ottawa declines that. The difference between Joseph and Barnashev isn't much and Jospeh makes about 2 mil less.</div></div>
I get where you are coming from but I don’t think you are looking at it correctly. Joseph is a solid 3rd line player who can produce and sometimes can even be a bit gritty which is an amazing trait. Barbashev is a very good top 6 forward and has proven again and again that he can produce at an elite level plus he can pick up speed too. These players are both very close in age but barbashev is by far the better player. I think this trade would 100% benefit both teams greatly. As for the draft picks, I believe that would be necessary for a deal like this because there is no way these to could be traded one for one. One final thing that I think adds to barbashev is that he has proven that he can perform incredibly in the playoffs which is what truly sets him apart from Joseph.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shaun80</b></div><div>So calgary gives you our top line winger for 2 fourth liners and retains salary?</div></div>
I can see this being a realistic deal to be honest yes kuzmenko is a good top 6 winger but he has shown some inconsistency early in his career. He is not that young and on a expiring deal. A guy like kuzmenko strikes me as the type of guy who is gonna want about 6-7.5 million dollars on a 6-8 year deal and I just don’t think he is worth that. The two assets going to Calgary are not just 4th liners. These guys are very good assets. They are are both entering their primes and no they are not massive point producers but they are the type of guys who teams look for to win championships. Just solid all around players. The retained salary is not a massive deal because it’s not a whole lot and it’s only for 1 season. I could see the knights adding at most a second rounder or like two fourths. This is just my opinion

Jeez. For one pens would probably decline not because it isn’t enough but because it is Sidney Crosby and he is staying in Pittsburgh. For two that’s a crazy amount of picks. This trade does not work

Goalies simply don’t get great returns sadly.</div></div>
What if the pens add a 2nd, a 3rd and a mid prospect

Also doubt bruins will get rid of swayman, more likely theyd get rid of ullmark if either has to go. As for other moves, i like hanafin, if they pens play extremely well over the next couple weeks i could see them trying to trade for them but theyd have to go on a streak, and also resign him. Think karlsson is fine and dont think there’s another team in the unique position like the pens to take the contract even if it is retained. Also doubt Yager will play in the NHL next season, and if he does id imagine he will play wing.</div></div> I see where you are coming from completely but jarry has actually been playing very good this season and has shown that he deserves to be the starter so I don’t think that is overpay when you really think about it

Why wouldn’t they. They need goaltending and that is not massive overpay for your starting goalie for the next 4-7 years. The 4th is not much, the 1st will be a late 1st round pick so less value and Mercer’s RFA rights are the biggest factor in the return for the pens. Mercer will probably peak at a 40- 50 point guy which is great value but the devils are a very young talented team and I don’t think they would be able to keep Mercer anyway in the long run with all the young talent they have who will need big paydays so it would be better to get a good return while you can.

Question for Pens Fans
It is really hard to say. Jarry has been playing good, nedeljkovic is playing way better than anyone expected and Blomqvist has looked like a future superstar so I would say they run with jarry and Ned for most of next while also getting Blomqvist to play a few games then run with jarry and Blomqvist, then after 1 or 2 seasons with Blomqvist backing up he probably becomes the starter and jarry is moved for a prospect and a couple picks

You don’t understand hockey enough. Guentzel is an elite goal scorer who could be the difference between a team winning the cup or not, Mikheyev is a good middle six forward
