Van Declines change 3rd to a 1st and maybe..... stecher is 25 years old.. baer can score 20 goals.. when healthy.. why would the canucks trade stecher and baer, and take an extra year of lucic, a kid who just had two major surgeries, and a third. makes no sense from VAN standpoint

I think this will be the summer for the offer sheets.... think about it. Canucks force the leafs hand and force them to make a tough decision.. if they match for Kap, it puts them tight to the Cap, they have to sign Mitch, and will most likely lose Jake Gardnier in FA. so I think the Canucks should offer sheet Kap, because I think the leafs wouldn't match for the price, they would most likely use that cap space to upgrade their defence. Canucks have cap space now hopefully they use it wisely

Not Really.. were helping them get to the cap floor and were getting rid of dead weight.... players like spooner and louie and sutter are just wasting spots for younger players

Agreed man!! This team works so hard, relentless forecheck, batting 60 mins. Winning in contagious and right now the young guns are flowing well. I hate to say it but i think its a good thing that we have all these injuries. it allows the young kids to step up and play in roles they normally would not. i love watching this team. Travis green is running a well system. and we are getting solid goaltending! division in weak to start season we will see how it plays out throughout the season. if canucks stay hot and get healthy... they could sneak in playoffs!

I mean yes its going to be another rough year in Vancouver. that being said its hard not to get excited for these young kids coming up through the system. This franchise was a joke when Jim Benning took over for the team in 2013-14 summer. Gillis drafted so poorly in the years he was with us. hence thats why it has been such a slow rebuild. Jim has added Hughes, Jouelvi, Gaudette, Petterson, Demko, Dahlen, Stecher, Pouliot, ect.. and others yes he has made some mistakes in the draft (not taking Thachuck, Ehlers/Nylander) but has had some steals also Boesser, Demko etc... Hopefully they can unload some contracts like MDZ, Edler, Gagner, Nielson at Deadline for Picks. I like the direction we are headed in. In the preseason veteran jobs will be on the line, as rookies are on the rise, and hungry to crack the NHL. will be interesting to see what the final roster looks like come October 1st!
