If someone offered AA 2.5 mil per year for 2 years Wings could not have matched it. Would only cost a 2nd round pick to who ever offered that. You are right it is to late now. But thats why i would be all over a trade for him. Holland isnt exactly a good GM anymore. His best days are clearly behind him.

If AA wanted to sign with the dreadful Wings he would have by now. Hes holding out hoping Holland the awful GM that he is trades him away. If a GM had some balls and sent him an offer sheet the Wings would have been screwed and would have been forced to let him walk or trade someone away to make some cap space for him.

It would take a lot more then Bozak and a 3rd rounder to get Olli. Bozak is over 30 and is a UFA after this year. Makes ZERO sense to do that

I tried to trade for AA but it wouldnt let me. If the Pens offered a 2nd a 3rd for AA i would think the Wings would take that deal. They are over the cap and need the space. AA obviously does not want to sign with them. He would be a good fit on our 3rd line next to Phil and Hagelin with all of that speed those 3 have they would be very hard to stop. To me he seems like the perfect fit for the Pens.

Pens Hawks Trade
Sheary is going to get way more then that. I would guess around the 3-3.5 mil per year. I would love to have Hjalmarsson cause i think the Pens need a better d man for their top 4. But its going to cost more then that to get him.

How did we get Drouin? And no way would i ever offer Alzner 6 mil per year. Schultz prob gets 4.5 per year.

You are problably right in not going much more then 4 mil at a 3rd line position. Hopefully the Pens can get one of those 2 guys. I dont see anyone available FA wise that can play there. Unless they are getting someone via trade those are the two i target.
I would be ok if Franson or Del zotto signed at a reasonable contract. I wouldnt pay to much for either of them though. Franson 2 mil would be the highest i would go. And Del Zotto around 3 mil.
Hagelin i would move if we need the cap space. If we keep guys like Sheary, Dumolin, Schultz, a 3rd line center and a 4/5 d man over Hagelin. Hopefully Rutherford can get those guys signed to some nice contracts.

You could be right about Hanzal taking more but at the same time hes played on a bad team his whole career one would think he might want to try winning for a change but at the same time still get paid a pretty nice contract. But money usually does talk. Finding a solid 3rd line center is very important. Because at some point hes going to play on our 2nd or 1st line when Malkin and or Crosby go down. So they need someone that can fill in.
The Pens have made a lot of d men look bad at times haha. I would agree having 5 good d men may be going over board but again Letang will get hurt its bound to happen. If we had cole playing as our 5th d pair and playing 15-16 mins a game i would say we are looking pretty damn good. I would rather spend some money on our d then anywhere else just as insurance.
As For Hagelin i think we could find a team to take him. Someone like the Oilers he would be able to keep up with Mcdavid and or Drasaitl or even the Leafs i could see needing him Hes a really good penalty killer something thats important to a lot of teams. Even if the Pens had to retain a little cap to move him say around 750 k i would say do it.

Instead of Bonino i might look at a guy like Martin Hanzal. Has a little more offensive upside. Hes bigger and his two way game would be just as good as bonino if not better. I might even throw a little more money at Hanzal just to get him. I wouldnt go to high but something like 4.2 mil per year for 4-5 years.
I still think the Pens need to add one more top 4 d man. Someone that can play in all situations. I would love to see the Pens add Orlov. Yes hes an RFA but if they threw an offer at him of something like 4.5-4.8 im not sure if the Caps could match that with their cap issues. It would also cost us a 1st and a 3rd something i think we could afford to get a legit top 4 d man. They would have to trade Hagelin to make it work cap wise but i think a team would take him off of our hands.

Fix our biggest problems
Bura signs for 3 mil per year Kuzneztov 6 Orlov 4.5 thats 13.5 on that low end. If they bring back Oshie its going to cost them at least 6 mil. So thats 19.5 mil for those 4 guys. If they dont bring him back they are going to have to hope they can find someone suitable to replace his numbers. Thats not going to be easy to find.

Caps have 22 mil to spend. They either need to sign or replace Oshie. If they sign him they wont be able to keep Orlov Bura, and Kuznetzov. I figure they can keep 3 of those 4. If im the Pens i offer sheet Orlov. Offer him around 5 mil. That would cost us a 1st rounder and a 3rd rounder.
Caps need to sign 11 players in total. They are in trouble cap wise.

The Pens would have to offer sheet Orlov but if they were to it would cost them a 1st and a 3rd to get Orlov. In my opinion hes worth that. Plus the Caps are then missing a top 4 d man. I dont think they would be able to match that price.
I have Rust moved to the Ducks because i couldnt figure out how to move him to Vegas.
Pens would have to move Hagelin and Fleury but the prices i have them going for i think is fair.
Something i think the Pens need to do is Add a top 4 d man. Thats a very nice top 6 to have too. Its deep everyone can skate and move the puck which would fit right into Sullivans system.
Having Hanzal as a 3rd line center would be great. Hes great in his own end has size and is pretty good in faceoffs. He would be a perfect fit as a 3rd line center. Add in Gagner who could easily play a top 9 role.

Fleury still has some value it wont be much. I would assume a 2nd and maybe a prospect.
I hope the Pens can trade Hagelin. I think the Oilers would be a good fit for him with his speed. Maybe even the Leafs in a top 9 role with one of those teams. The return wouldnt be much but it would be more of a cap dump.
If im Rutherford i offer sheet a d man. And i think the d man im going after if im Jim is Orlov. If they were to offer him 4-5 years at around 4. 8 mil per year it would be tough for the Caps to match that. It would then cost the Pens a 1st and a 3rd round picks something the Pens have both of this year. Orlove could easily fit in with our top 4. They really need to fix their defence this offseason.

Secondly. If we were trading Matt Murray and Maatta i would hope the return would be better then Trouba Adam Lowry and a 2nd rounder. Winnipeg wins this trade all day.

2017-18 Roster
Ya no way im touching Shattenkirk. And Schultz and Bonino are going to get more then that. Schultz will get at least 4.5 mil. Bonino i would guess 4 mil. The d man i would be after would be is Orlov. He can skate and can easily play in our top 4. He is a RFA but the Caps wont be able to sign him. So either try trading for him or send an offer sheet over.

I would like to see the Pens add another solid d man to their team. Someone who can skate and handle the puck. Orlov is a RFA but you could offer sheet him for 4 mil. The Caps more then likely wont and cant match it. You would have to pay a 1st and a 3rd something i think is fair to give up for a 25 year old d man who could easily play in your top 4 and run the 2nd power play if needed. That give you a very good top 4 defence with Letang Schutlz Dumolin and Orlov and then a bottom pairing of Cole and Maatta. Who has a better d then that?
The forwards would be pretty young with Sprong Guentzel Rowney Wilson Rust but overall i think they are pretty good. Moving Fleury for 2 2nds i think is more then fair for both teams plus saves cap. Hagelin i believe would be a good fit on the Oilers with their speed game.
The pens still have lots of cap to work with or if im off on my calculations you could give more to Dumolin Sheary Schultz Orlov or who ever it may be.
Vegas could take Maata or Hagelin this way as well. If thats the case the Pens still have 4 mil to play with. EIther way they are sitting pretty.
Ok and go.
