Pens would not make this deal. Rust has way more value than Greenway and Brodin.

Palat trade
I like the idea of the Palat trade but not sure you would need to give up Jost. I think the 2nd and a prospect gets it done or close to it. Tampa will need the cap space and there are only so many teams to deal with.

Maybe NJ wants to have another busy offseason? Idk but it won't be a "normal" offseason so maybe TB's rfa's will sign Labanc type deals to help the Lightning figure out their cap crunch, anything is possible I guess.
That was Yzerman handing out those NMC'S and NTC’S like candy but he's one of the best GM's in the league apparently.. Lol</div></div>
Stevie is one hell of a GM but damn its going to suck if you have to lose Sergachev because of guys like Johnson palat gourde and killorn. They arent bad by any means but they are not a top 2-3 d man.
It could be an interesting year. Cant wait to see what happens.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MisstheWhalers</b></div><div>No worries and sorry if I came across dickish.. lol.. yeah they aren't in a great spot especially with Johnson and Gourde, if they can convince Palat to waive they could move him without having to give assets away, he's a decent player but Gourde and Johnson I'm not convinced anyone would want them without being compensated well to take them but like I said Tampa always seems to figure out their cap issues so they'll probably figure it out this time too.
If Palat waives and Killorn is traded and Cernak, Sergachev and Cirelli take bridge deals would that fit?
But who are the teams that would want or could use Palat and Killorn and have the cap space for them?
Edmonton needs wingers but they have very little cap space, maybe Buffalo but they're likely on those twos no trade lists, idk I'm sure Tampa will figure it out but it's gonna be tough, I can see why Sergachev could possibly be traded.</div></div>
Haha all good.
The teams that need those guys are bottom feeders and ur right. Guys wont want to go there. Detroit Buffalo Edmonton not a bottom feeder but its cold as **** in the winter and why leave Tampa to go there? So you very well could be right. Its going to be tough making that all work. But again who the heck was handing out NTC like they were candy? And if you are giving them out they should have signed better deals imo.

Just moving Killorn doesn't free up enough cap space, Tampa always figures out their cap issues though so I'm sure they'll figure it out to keep Cirelli, Sergachev and Cernak though if they were to trade one I think Sergachev is likely the one traded.</div></div>
Oh **** ur right. They have full no clauses for a few more years. Oooof those are some bad deals handed out.

Moving Sergachev alone wouldn't save them enough cap space anyways. They need to move out at least 15 mil.

Palat can be traded to 20 different teams. Gourde to 22 teams. Johnson 20 teams. Killorn 16 teams. How do you not know this?

Sergachev will easily get 5-6 per year. Cirelli will get 5 plus. Cernak is a solid d man. Hes easily getting 3 mil.

Tampa would be dumb to take that deal. Keep Sergachev. If i am Tampa i move our Gourde Johnson Palat . Any 3 of them if not all 4 to save cap and keep Cirelli Sergachev and who ever else they need.

I agree with this as well. Jared i think will be a solid player for the Pens for awhile. I would not move him at all. And his new cap hit should be 3 mil or less. Thats pretty solid for a guy who has the potential to be a 20-20 guy on our 3rd line. Just give him some wingers to play with.

2020-21 Update
I find it crazy how people value Murray. I think the return for him will be pretty solid. We don't have to give him away by any means. And there will be about 5-6 teams that will want a young goalie. A 2nd and some b level prospects are not going to get it done.

Maybe ur right i thought i read it was going down. Hell even if it stays where it is thats fine with me. Pens are in pretty decent shape cap wise. Some other teams not so much. Tampa will be one of the teams that will be affected the most. They are going to lose 2 if not 3 guys.
I forgot about the expansion draft ****. Pens will be in trouble regardless of what they do. We are going to lose 1 solid player unfortunately.

I would personally rather have Jarry over Nylander. If we move a goalie we need a d man in return. I think someone like Hronek from the Wings makes the most sense. Wings also need a goalie. Murray to the wings seems like a fit for both parties. Pens also need the cap savings. Murray is going to get 6 plus from someone and it wont be Pit. Plus the cap is going down so Pit needs every little bit they can.

The cap is also going down the fans have to remember that. I would bet it goes down to around 79 mil. Jarry wont get 4 mil i dont think either. Unless it was longterm 6 plus years.

Thoughts
Murray will get more than a 2nd and a 4th. 25 year old goalie whos an RFA has 2 cups. Pens wont be giving him away for that. Quite a few teams need goalies. Detroit makes the most sense. They are rebuilding and will want someone young to build with. Lehner & Holtby are both UFA goalies but why would you want to go there? They are going to want to play with a decent team not a team rebuilding for 3-4 years. Murray makes the most sense.
