<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy316</b></div><div>Like with LAK last summer MTL will be forced to offload 2-3 D or risk losing them on Waivers for nothing.
Harris requires Waivers
-Struble has 20 games left of Waiver Exempt days
-Guhle has 46 games left of Waiver Exempt days
-Xhekaj has 65 games left of Waiver Exempt days
-Barron has 73 games or 1 season left of Waiver Exempt days

Thats before you factor in Hutson, Reinbacher ,Mailloux or Engstrom
Its unsustainable even with Savard and Kovacevic being pending UFA's after next season
You either have to sell early on Veterans giving up quite a lot in a summer deal vs a TDL
Or you have to trade 1-2 of your four 20-23 years old LD and RD listed above

If we left Struble in the AHL it woulda made things a little better, but we didnt.
Sending Barron down helped but only in assuring that both he and Struble didnt become Waiver Exempt next October around the same time
Either way its why LAK moved Durzi, Grans and Walker but still lost Bjornfot their former 1st rounder from the Muzzin trade for nothing on Waivers.

The downside to 5 rookie D last year is this right here as it pushed up timelines so now they conflict with what MTL had laid out contractually with the roster they built.
But with Hutson overproducing in NCAA, Reinbacher settling in Laval who has 8 wins in 10 games since he arrived or Engstrom in his deep SHL run as a top 4 D
MTL's depth issues are about to get more complicated as we have more Pro D in camp next year then we have AHL and NHL roster spots to play them even if both teams ran 7 D</div></div>

Thx for this information i didnt know that
