The Off Season

Would Philly consider Dumba and Staal for Frost and a 1st? Also, how is Phillipe Myers developing?</div></div>
I think Matt Niskanen is really underrated on here. He is definitely going to be declining, but he's the best right handed defenseman we have as of right now. I'd like to have him for next year. I don't think the Flyers want Dumba or Staal, for next year at least. We're pretty much full in every position. Phillipe Myers has been developing pretty good. His offense has slowed down and he isn't as good as I thought he was, but he's going to be a great top-4 dman.

Flyers definitely decline. Niskanen > Dumba. Staal and Hartman don't get you Frost and a first round pick.
Also, why buy out Dubnyk? You have 10mil in cap space and it just loses money for next year.

They might be. I've watched them play in the NHL and they definitely have some work to do. I'd just let them develop in the AHL until we get injuries.

Probably not any roster players. I'd like some C+ forward prospects or any right handed defenseman prospect than has NHL potential. If that's too much then I'd be alright with two 2nd round picks.

Flyers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sooonk</b></div><div>I see a move for Johnny as an all in move for the Flyers to go for the cup over the next 2 years. I think it’s just an off year for Johnny. He’s been really good for the back half of the year and will add more scoring to the lineup. These top 2 lines in Philly would be filthy.</div></div>
I think it can be debatable for whether Johnny is the right piece for the Flyers. Our definite, solid top-six forwards right now are Giroux, Couturier, Voracek, Konecny, Hayes, and maybe van Riemsdyk. I personally don't want to trade van Riemsdyk or Hagg, but since they are traded here, let's just say they do get traded. That leaves us with five top-six forwards, which means we have an open spot on our second line, preferably a left winger. Gaudreau would be a nice addition, but I don't want to kill the development of some our younger guys either. I'm confident that Lindblom will return by next season and he's been awesome in our top-six, both offensively and defensively. He was leading the team in goals before he diagnosed with cancer after all. If he isn't back, then Laughton can fill that role. I understand the "win-now" mentality, but if things are clicking for us right now, then I won't want a change-up. I'd like to see how things play out next year before we go after Gaudreau. I don't want to pay that high of a price if it won't have as much of an impact.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChuckyCheese</b></div><div>Are you insane? You gotta get your head checked bud. Might have early onset Corona. This trade is not even near worth value for Flames to deal Gaudreau. Let alone a 1st and Frost being an overpayment hahahaha. Insane man, go give your head a shake.</div></div>
And here's another Flames fan massively overvaluing Johnny Gaudreau :tearsofjoy It's pathetic that everyone thinks he's still a 100 point guy. He performed as well as he did last year because everyone else on his team had career years. He's on pace for 68 points this year, which is fine, but he's only going to be declining. JG turns 27 this summer, the usual age for players to exit their prime. I agree that Frost + 1st probably isn't sufficient, but I can't understand how the Flames don't take that in the case that they are willing to deal Gaudreau. As a Flyers fan myself, I don't want to give up a good prospect or Patrick for somebody who has two years left on his contract and is somebody who we don't even need. I don't know what you think the price is, but he's not going to Philly.

Flyers would rather keep Konecny and Myers for cap reasons. They have 2 or 3 contracts that could age poorly and they need contract steals.

X27 Fantasy Roster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>X27</b></div><div>It's a "FANTASY" team.
Flyers have an abundance of right D-men and little on the left side, so yes their needs on defense are the same as the Leafs, just opposite sides. Kapenen is an upgrade on right wing to the 2nd line as Konecny can switch back to the left side and if they need more, Jeremy Bracco is available to sweeten the deal. It means the Leafs will have to give up more to get slightly less, but it addresses their needs.
Leafs have an abundance of talent that will never prosper due to a logjam in all forward positions.... Kapenen is too good to be on the 3rd line. Johnson is a solid 2nd liner and Bracco can't even get into the line-up to showcase his talent. They are becoming wasted assets. use them to build defense.</div></div>
I'm not sure what you mean by "FANTASY" team, because that would apply to every ACGM. I'm not complaining because that's what ACGM is for. But whatever, if you like trying things just for fun then go ahead.
Aside from that, all of your statements for the Flyers are completely wrong. Flyers are loaded with left-handed defensemen and are in need of good, young right-handed defensemen. Provorov goes on the top pairing on the left side, then Sanheim, and then Hagg/Gostisbehere. Not to mention we have Cam York and Yegor Zamula who will be NHL ready next season or the season after. For our right-handed defense pairings, Niskanen is on our first pairing, then Myers, and then Braun. Myers is important to us because he's our only young and promising right-handed defenseman. Niskanen and Braun have been great for us, but they aren't staying here long term. Niskanen isn't being moving next year and Braun could very likely resign with us if he's cheap. I'm not sure what happens the year after, but we could be in trouble. Sanheim may be capable of playing the right side, but either way we're not moving Myers unless we're getting back Liljegren, along with a few other assets in the deal.
As for our forwards, we don't need or want Kapanen and we're certainly not moving Frost. He has a pretty good chance of being better than Kapanen. We're already loaded with top-six forwards and adding Kapanen will just make more of the mess. That includes and is probably not limited to Giroux, Couturier, Voracek, Hayes, Konecny, and Lindblom. I expect Lindblom to return next season and if he doesn't then Laughton can be up there. Yes, he's better than Kapanen as of right now. Laughton is a about as good as Kapanen offensively, he can play center, and is good at faceoffs. We also have a ton of young guys who are projected to be in the top-six. Many of them are playing great and they are not getting their opportunity because of everyone else playing great. Our forward log-jam is worse than yours.
To be honest if there is anything that I want for the Flyers right now, it would be a dynamic forward and right-handed defensemen prospects.

Gostisbehere trade idea
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wqrrior</b></div><div>so ghost for a 6th vs ghost for a first all because of a 20 point difference?
as a flyers fan myself i can say that those conditions are senseless and very bad for the flyers. I would much rather he be swapped for another player in need of a reboot.</div></div>
You might be misunderstanding the conditions by the way you said it. Here's an easier way of putting it:
<strong>If Gostisbehere reaches 40 points or more:</strong>
Flyers receive: <em>1st round pick, 6th round pick</em>
Golden Knights receive: <em>Gostisbehere</em>
<strong>If Gostisbehere reaches 21 to 39 points:</strong>
Flyers receive: <em>2nd round pick, 6th round pick</em>
Golden Knights receive: <em>Gostisbehere</em>
<strong>If Gostisbehere reaches 20 points or less:</strong>
Flyers receive: <em>2nd round pick, 6th round pick</em>
Golden Knights receive: <em>Gostisbehere, 2nd round pick</em>
If Gostisbehere has yet another poor year, he is probably going to be treated the way Karl Alzner is right now. Remember, Ghost is an offensive defenseman and he's supposed to bring offense to the team. He's not bad at defending for an offensive defenseman, but he's only worth his contract if he can put up the numbers. If he can't bounce back with a new team, then he has hardly any value. That 2nd round pick in the third scenario listed is compensation for Gostisbehere having a poor year.
I would much rather swap him for a player in his situation too. However, I don't think there is a player out there that is in a need of a reboot that the Flyers would need. Athanasiou could have been a great option, but looks like he's finding his way in Edmonton.
<strong>EDIT:</strong> Just figured out what you meant. After looking it over again, there is probably a better way of doing it. I'd still like to try to move Gostisbehere with managing some of the conditions though.

Hell he hasn't scored over 50 pts in any season till now. Johnny has never scored less than 60 since he came into the league and has been over 78 pts in the last three seasons straight.
Everyone is ragging on JG this year for having such a down year and even now he is only 4 pts behind Koceny.
I get not wanting to make the trade because of age and cap but don't for a second try to say that its because Koceny is better than JG!</div></div>
Konecny is better than Gaudreau as of right now. Gaudreau's 99 points last year came from everyone else having career years. Konecny is having a career year while some players on the Flyers aren't performing to their best.
Konecny turns 23 in March, when most players start to enter their prime. Gaudreau turns 27 this summer, when most players start to decline. We're not looking to change up only to get a player that will be worse in the next three years.

The two picks are good value for a team that is looking to rebuild from the ground up</div></div>
But you need more quality. Palmieri plays really good for a bad team and he has two years left on his contract. You'll need at least a first round pick and better prospects. Zboril isn't treated with much value at this point.
