Yeah your a complete idiot. You obviously have NO idea WTF you're talking about. I'd sooner take advice from a rock. LMAO
Let's put this in terms your brain cell can understand. Tampa is already $2 to $7 mil over the salary cap (when they are cheating) AND have a major contract (Brayden Point) to get signed by next year. Which means they actually want to re-sign them now since the longer it takes the more they end up paying and for longer terms. Furthermore they have a stack of minor league players pushing for spots. That means Foote (4th D-man at best) and Ross (3rd liner) are ODD men out. On top of all that Robertson is worth both of the anyways and high potential to become a 1st or 2nd line LW. So yes, 2 contracts that are easily replaced with what is in the minors for the less or same amount, for longer, PLUS a LW with far more upside for less than either for the next 3-years.
That all means this deal makes huge sense for both teams.

TOR is giving up too much in the TBL trade. Robertson is worth foote+colton alone imo, since he could be a second liner if he wasnt injured so much
whitecloud's value is much higher than that, considering he signed such a good value extension recently. gotta at least add a first
Kase = Appleton, Mikheyev + 4th = McCann, Engvall = Fleury. not toooo far off in value</div></div>

TB is drowning in Salary Cap issues AND it will only get worse next year. Foote and Ross are WAY expendable to open up cap space.

They are currently $5.2 mil over the cap with another $6.8 sitting on IR (disgraceful cheating team). That means they have just 6 days to shed roughly $6 mil in salary. Robertson is a far better asset than either Ross or Foote and he give the team time as far as cap space. The rest is doing Tampa Bay a favour. The Draft picks are overkill and not even necessary.
Oh and by the way ... Tampa cheated last year with the Salary Cap. Any Tampa Bay fans should be embarrassed. If they aren't then they have no integrity.

Really? They are currently over the cap. Plus another $4.8 mil is sitting on IR. Then they have no less then 8 contract increases (not including (Whitecloud AND McNabb) coming up at the end of the year.Even with this deal they end up being in a position where they will have to move more salary off their books to the tune of $10 mil or more. Where they find the fairy dust to "figure out" that kind of math must be the same place you find whatever you're smoking.
This trade gives them a decent trade to begin with (just the players involved), time and cap space. Not to mention the draft pick gravy.

So again. NO they don't. Tampa has massive cap issues so they don't have much choice but to start moving active salary for prospects. Colton is 25 and projects as a 3rd liner. Foote projects as a 2nd pairing D. Robertson projects as a top six winger and is only 20yrs old. This trade for Tampa allows them to make the deal without loosing face AND even getting over-paid for it.

No. They don't. I can see why they wouldn't IF they didn't have cap issues. AND moving two players that will be looking for an increase in salary next year is a good way to solve that issue.

I mention this because I feel like 3 years from NOW is when Ottawa will be at their strongest with guys like Sanderson, JBD, Greig, Boucher ++ becoming part of the established core.
I also think Connor Brown, if Ottawa does not extend him, would get a very nice return at the trade deadline in the final year of his contract so unless there's a real overpayment happening there's no need for Ottawa to move such a valuable player who can anchor a less experienced line.</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Joronto</b></div><div>Interesting new players but an disimprovement cap and pick wise. Nothing left for the deadline. You have to resign Rielly and or Campbell. Conor Brown is great and I like him very much and would love to see him back in TOR - but this CAPtured Leafs team can not afford a 4th line player with a 3.6 M caphit. I miss Spezza and Simmonds and I would not trade Robertson: he will have a bright future and is one of the wildcards. Like Kase.</div></div>
Actually if you double check there is about $2.2 mil in cap space total when you consider there are 2 extra defence-men on the roster as shown (which I did just to show depth and adaptability)
While I agree that playing Brown on the 4th line at $3mil is a waste of money. Brown is easily a 3rd liner. He is on the 4th line due to Appleton and Batherson having higher potential. He is also a much better option then Kase who is an injury magnet and I do NOT see that changing. Come the trade deadline Brown could be a tasty piece of trade bait again if it comes down to it. Freeing up another $3 mil in cap space.
Spezza and Simmons are both still with the team. They can be plugged in when/where needed as well as help some of the younger players on the Marlies as they move up and down in the system.
Yes, Robertson will more than likely become a good to great player. But Colton Ross and Cal Foote are both promising players that are more NHL-ready and we want to win NOW.

The Lightning are $6mil over the cap. To add to that is the outrage from around the league on what they pulled in the playoffs. The NHL is keeping a stern eye on them and they MUST get under cap. Picking up players that will be cost effective for a while plus a draft pick is a wise move on their part. They also are not giving up much in the grand scheme of things in this trade. So I firmly disagree

So As far your proposal goes: Marcus Foligno is not available to be traded. He's too important to wild. He's also beloved by wild GM , & signed a 3 year contract extension starting with next season's beginning.
So all of this is to say Marcus foligno is going nowhere, ; Too Valued by Wild. If he was available to be traded which he's not, the value or lack there of you put doesn't even come close considering 1 player is basically just a body, & another one is 3rd / 4th line who barely plays,</div></div>
You seem to be singaly focused on the Folingo trade. No one is untouchable. Folingo, likkke his brother, would be thrilled to play in TO.
That said, lets look at the trade. Mikheyev is not a 3rd/4th line scratch as you have declared. He played the whole season and usually on the 2nd line. Minnesota needs to get younger. Mikheyev is 3yrs younger and fills in most of the gap. In some places, like skating, better. That said I did edit the deal.
