Except for a shift or 2. You know the players or the coaching staff will make sure it happens at least once.

unless a bad contract goes back or a prospect comes in, i would rather they stay away from the Turris, Russell and the Manning dumps people keep trying to make that don't benefit Detroit.
this is the best year for them to bottom out and hopefully pick in the top 2. they should be finishing around the same as last with the line up.
Development is crucial this year for some of them. Turris blocks that going forward with Flipper and Neilson already there.
Alexis Lafrenière played well with Veleno for Canada. If they get him for instance, and Zadina or Svech works out, that would be a great line.
and they need a few right handed wingers. lol</div></div>

that was just to put an offer on this page for an example. Detroit isn't doing anything else this off-season imo.
i would imagine a bridge deal for him at this point... but Boston would match.. and on to the next team to pressure into a move. throw an offer at Werenski and get Colombus to sign him up. Toss an offer a Marner and get them sweating. lol. The idea is to NOT sign them but to give us fans some excitement.</div></div>
honestly I dont think boston would match, they'll take that what 3rd or 4th overall pick and and early third rounder. With 2 first rounders they can move backes and still have detroits first and cash

i like carlo but he isn't worth the contract and the cost in picks in way too high. If he had any offense at all maybe but he doesn't.

krug is a second pair at best guy who puts up numbers and he will be great on the pp but he routinely gets spun around and is terrible in his own zone. I just dont love his game. Hes a tough one because his offense is so elite, great vision.

Gardiner = Larry Murphy. Murphy was "awful" in Toronto, and the fans ran him out of town. He comes to DET, wins 2 cups, plays great. He killed penalties, started in the D zone, and still scored about .5 PPG for his DET career.

2 long years from now
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DarthCharger</b></div><div>i agree. I don't want a Toronto situation 2-3 years in where everyone want $10 mill as soon as they compete. Right now, no one deserves to be paid more than Larkin unless they show they are better. It will take huge seasons for Mantha and AA to ask anywhere near him. Defense is a little different until they clear the vets. They are all gonna need contracts in a couple years.</div></div>
Agree with much you said, except for one thing. It's not such a bad thing if you have a bunch of players "deserving of 10m. (or whatever). That means you have talented players and if it means going over the cap you might have trade some expensive for futures. Not the worse at all. It's better than being a poor team where you have to overpay UFAs to come and play for your team.
Think the Leafs overpaid for Matthews and Nylander but besides that the the Leafs look cap OK...though we'll see what Marner brings. Hoping the Aho contract kinda set the bar for the reamaining RFAs.

Werenski isn't a UFA for till summer of 2023 I believe. You see how so many teams are against the cap right now. Agree with aedoran above.....save your cap and spend it wisely. Maybe next summer Wings can sign Trouba as UFA.....a guy who wants to play in Detroit all things being equal.

I like it! Not sure I'd split up Bertuzzi - Larkin - Mantha. Mantha is a goal scorer and so is Zadina. 2 guys you want to shoot more than they pass not sure you want them on the same line.
I think the Wings are doing the right thing by not making big trades or signing expensive UFA's but OMG it is very boring.

slow ride take it easy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DarthCharger</b></div><div>I think it's one of those things where a player with less talent but works harder and makes the others better. if that makes sense. My worry is that he gets paid to be a top guy but then gets pushed down to 3rd line in the next few years with new prospects and then looks overpaid.</div></div>
I do like Bertuzzi skill wise he's like Tom Wilson. He won't rush the puck end to end but is skilled enough to play with the top line. Bertuzzi like Homer and Dino Ciccarelli around the net he has great hands and a knack for putting the puck in the net. No matter what line he is still plays with 3rd line/checking line energy like he always has something to prove. I don't think he should traded but I do think he should be traded before AA and Mantha. Plus he is very humble. I shared season tickets with a friend for a couple of seasons and the seats behind us were given to players and Tyler was there a lot.

The fact that Larkin and Werenski are best friends. The Wings probably move Mantha and AA before Bertuzzi. Doesn't make sense to me but they love Bertuzzi.
I do like the first 2 trades Carolina uniting brothers is always a fan favorite and Detroit is still pretty high on Hicketts becoming a solid defenseman. Now with Pope since Zadina, Veleno, Hirose and Kuffner have been added you don't hear much about him.

"We suck lol". Maybe so, but it's better than spending wildly on bad UFA signings. Wings have cap and next year they have some big expiring contracts. Maybe next July 1st will bring more excitement to Wings fans.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DarthCharger</b></div><div>dude. just like the first post I did. It's for fun. No one thinks Stamkos is getting traded. the whole point of this website is to do these. lol
Everyone knows they need help on the backend. There are no Dmen to go for this year anyways.
As I said last time. Teams NEVER empty a pipeline. Look what Kessel got traded for after 2 big years with Pitts.
And to not want a consistent player like Stamkos is ridiculous.
I've seen your teams you make. You think wasting a space on Flippula at 35years old is a good idea. Or we will somehow make an offer for Kyle Conner,
But I didn't go on your post and tell you to stop.
just don't comment if you don't like it. pretty simple dude.</div></div>

Not a chance they trade stamkos with his team friendly contract and them still being a top tier team in the NHL, they aren't gonna trade him away for young players and picks.
