Push for the Playoffs

This is a Sabres fan trying to tell VAN fans that the goalie they watch every other night isn't as good as they think... it was an odd statement to make by someone who does NOT watch that goalie play regularly (or at all).</div></div>
Pretty sure hes just a troll cause there is no way a hockey fan wouldn't think Demko isn't top 10 no matter what team he supports.

Sorry Vancouver fans, hes not as good as you think</div></div>
Yes, top 10 in save % on one of the worst defenses, the man is carrying the Canucks, he was a NHL star of the month this season and has had more saves in the nhl top 10 saves of the week top 3 than most goalies have had in the top 10. We had Markstrom in our net 2 years ago and he went to a team with a good defence and is now a Vezina candidate, and Demko has been playing better than Markstrom was for us.

Push for the Playoffs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shibbal18</b></div><div>Goalies dont have that much value to start and Demko isnt even a top 10 goalie in the league. Ill give you debatably 10th best. You also have to factor in Bloom, a potentially high 2nd in a deeper draft and getting rid of 6 mill in cap</div></div>
1. Say he is 10th, getting him for 4 more years for only 5m for a top 10 goalie is insane value. 2. The OP stated that this was if Vancouver did a rebuild, why would we need to dump 6m from Myers who has been a good top 4 RD for us this season if we are rebuilding/retooling when his contract expires in 2 years? Canucks don't see Myers as a cap dump.
You think 4 2nd's get you a top 10 goalie who is young and signed for 4x5?

Boeser
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Juiceman</b></div><div>Not really. Pettersson>>>>Dobson and I’m not willing to debate this. Is Dobson amazing? Yes absolutely. Would he be the perfect pairing with Quinn Hughes? Yes absolutely. Would he cost a kings ransom to pry out of New York? Yes absolutely. That still doesn’t mean the Canucks would ever go this way. Boeser though he’s having a down year has established himself as a top line winger throughout his career. In his career, he’s been scoring at a 30 goal pace over 82 games. Rathbone is our top prospect and honestly one of the top d men prospects that is almost NHL ready. As a rookie in the AHL, he has one of the highest PPG averages for a d man. He’s most likely our 2LD behind Hughes once OEL starts declining. That first round pick is like going to be an early to mid pick depending on how the Canucks go about this offseason. I think there are different options the Canucks can look for</div></div>
Funny thing is he isn't just one of the highest ppg D in the AHL for rookies, he is the highest ppg D in the entire AHL with above 18 games played.

Boeser
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>not the right deal for Dobson. First, he's probably as untouchable as any Islander (save maybe Sorokin) at this point - he's a 22 year old RHD scoring . He's a legit two-way threat who's actually outscored Brock Boeser this year (42 pts vs 38 for Brock) and would immediately slide in as RD1 next to Quinn Hughes, so I get why Vancouver would want him.
But this return isn't good. Boeser is a few years older and already making $5.875M this season and due for an RFA raise this summer. He's definitely at a lower value than he would have been a year ago after his least productive season in the NHL, which makes for a riskier proposition on that contract.
The rest of the trade doesn't get anywhere near what you'd need to make up in the difference in value between Dobson & Boeser. I'd rather take Josh Bailey's 2x$5M left on his deal than Poolman's 3x$2.5M - at least Bailey can be somewhat productive offensively. Rathbone is actually older than Dobson and hasn't forced his way past a team running out guys like Travis Dermott, Brad Hunt, & Kyle Burroughs on the bottom pair, so it's hard to get *too* excited about him. DiPietro looks like an OK goalie prospect, but I don't know if the Islanders are emotionally ready for another DiPietro between the pipes. Throwing in Bellows & a 4th and having the only pick coming back be a 1st is the last nail in the coffin for me on this deal - not enough meat on the bone to get Dobson, not nearly enough at all.</div></div>
The part about Rathbone, the only reason he hasn't come in is due to OEL and Quin on the left so we don't need him getting limited minutes on the main team when he can be the guy on the AHL team, and considering Rathbone is top 10 in points by AHL defenseman while playing 30 games compared to 60, he has the highest p/pg for all D in the AG, if it weren't for that dangerous hit a couple months back he would most likely be leading the AHL in D-man scoring. He is also considered a top 50 prospect.
