Not good for Vancouver. There is no guarantee Portillo makes the NHL and an even slimmer chance he becomes the goalie Demko is. Floridas pick is a late first which has little value in this rather weak draft class

Goalies dont have that much value to start and Demko isnt even a top 10 goalie in the league. Ill give you debatably 10th best. You also have to factor in Bloom, a potentially high 2nd in a deeper draft and getting rid of 6 mill in cap

I would swim across the brink of the Falls to kiss Kevyn if he pulled Weegar from Florida. Substantial offer there too. I'd even be willing to add another high value piece like Rosen.

Finding a goalie that replaces Demko's value at only 5m for 4 more years is impossible though. Myers isn't a full cap dump either. He is overpaid at 6m but 4m is about the value he brings to the team.

Saying Demko isn’t a top 10 goalie is an absurd statement. He’s arguably top 5, easily top 10

1. Say he is 10th, getting him for 4 more years for only 5m for a top 10 goalie is insane value. 2. The OP stated that this was if Vancouver did a rebuild, why would we need to dump 6m from Myers who has been a good top 4 RD for us this season if we are rebuilding/retooling when his contract expires in 2 years? Canucks don't see Myers as a cap dump.

Oh boy, if there is ONE position where watching the games tells you more than charts/stats, its Goalie. Telling VAN fans that Demko isn't as good as we think he is actually wild. We watch him every game understand just how good he is. Understand that you're wrong, admit it, move on. Thats the healthy thing to do.

Yes, top 10 in save % on one of the worst defenses, the man is carrying the Canucks, he was a NHL star of the month this season and has had more saves in the nhl top 10 saves of the week top 3 than most goalies have had in the top 10. We had Markstrom in our net 2 years ago and he went to a team with a good defence and is now a Vezina candidate, and Demko has been playing better than Markstrom was for us.

At 5v5 this season, Demko is 3rd in sv% and 3rd in GSAA.

Demko’s numbers this year have been cratered by the Canucks abysmal penalty kill. Ask yourself an honest question, what’s more indicative of demkos play? 3rd best 5v5 starting goalie or 20th best PK goalie?

If you honestly think that Demko isn’t a top 10, let alone top 5 goalie in the league, you’re not paying attention

This isn't even an argument. This is a Sabres fan trying to tell VAN fans that the goalie they watch every other night isn't as good as they think... it was an odd statement to make by someone who does NOT watch that goalie play regularly (or at all).

Pretty sure hes just a troll cause there is no way a hockey fan wouldn't think Demko isn't top 10 no matter what team he supports.

If you don’t think he’s top 10 please name 10 better than him. And just know none of the goalies you do name will have more goals saved above expected at 5v5 this year. And only one could have a higher save % at 5v5. But yeah he’s definitely not top 10 🙄
