That's true, can't disregard the fact that someone might just toss a bag of money at the guy. Can't blame him for saying yes. I wouldn't do it, but maybe there is a GM desperate enough to make a splash.

Gardiner and Myers I think will also both get paid. Should be somewhere in the mid-to-high 6 range for Myers, maybe a little less on Gardiner's camp. Will see though, just hoping wings sniff some luck in the draft to be honest LOL.

Thanks for the review &amp; comment. As much as I'd love Karlsson, I don't realistically see it happening without absolutely blowing the budget to get him. He's not quite the same Karlsson from prior to the Achilles injury and I'm just not sure investing 12M plus into him is the way to go for this team.

Agreed, Byram may not pan out to be the guy, but I think you have to draft him and focus on building a night in and night out top 4 D that's very difficult to compete against.

Regardless, the more I mess around with scenarios, the more I like where the future can be for the wings in another 2-3 years of drafting, developing and signing the correct talent via FA.

The Myers signing would be great for our future on defense though, as long as we can move Daley and/or Big E like you suggested.</div></div>

I’m with you in that I really hope we can land 1-3 and grab another top tier talent. But this was my scenario if we fall in the draft and don’t get that legitimate scoring threat.

I think the key thought here was that if they can land a Myers and add scoring (could be Duchene, Skinner, Hayes) or wait until the following year to add that scoring. They will still have the cap space to pursue another D man in 2020 via free agency and hopefully hit a stud in the draft in the next 2 years.

Ultimately, I think in 2 more years the cap space is there and if they draft well this team will have a lot of young talent and opportunity to address weaknesses via free agency.
