I like the idea of signing Bonino. Zajac is our only solid center right now. While Zacha may improve soon and begin playing more at center than as a wing, and McLeod may be making the jump to the show, and (oh my god i really ******* hope this happens) we get lucky & draft Hischier, I like signing Bonino. He's consistent and in my opinion, better at the position than Henrique. That being said, he'll probably ask for more money.

Believe me I am all for getting both Oshie and Shattenkirk. That would help speed up this rebuild and give us a much better chance at being a contender in the next 1-2 seasons. It would also show Taylor Hall that we are serious about giving him a chance to win in the playoffs (I know it's a little early to worry about that but after enduring Parise abandoning us and Kovalchuk making us Kovalf**ked I think I have a right). But I have my doubts we will get either. If I have to choose which between the two to pursue more aggressively, I'm all in for Shattenkirk, given the abysmal state that the once proud defense of the New Jersey Devils has come to.

I really like signing Parenteau and Kinkaid back. Parenteau was one of the few Devils on the bottom six that I liked and he also seemed to enjoy being on this team. With Wedgewood being out in Albany for an extended time due to injury, and not wanting to push Blackwood before he's ready for the NHL, Kinkaid is a fine backup. He also likes this team and the direction that it's heading.

With the Kovalchuk trade, unless the Hurricanes go out and pursue another top six forward like Duchene and decide to get Kovalchuk to provide veteran experience to the young team, I can't really see Carolina as being one of the teams that will really want him. I like the return here but I just don't see it. I've seen alot of Habs fans talking more about making a push for Kovy, which make sense given the fact that they're in win now mode and Radulov seamlessly transitioned back into being a good player in the NHL. Even though most of them don't post what I would consider a fair return for him (best possible return I've seen was Galchenyuk), if Kovalchuk wants to do a sign and trade, I really believe Montreal will try to pursue him.
