Offseason plan
As an oilerfan, we would rrade Yamampto and Ceci lonh before Fogele who isnt a capdump. He has some really good games. If ypu want a capdump you get Jack Campbell from us. If you send away Veljmeka to us, you get a 1st. If you only take Campbell, you can get a 2nd and a 3rd. Campbell will play ok.

Oilers are in a **** situation. All draftpicks are gone (Holland throwing out 2ds and 3rds out of the window in AA and Kulikov trade. good job moron, now you´re stuck in ****).
And Kassians contract HAS to go. It just has. Buyout or whatever.
Oilers should just sign a gapfill for one year. I chosed James Reimer, hes at lest decent.
THe RW, ****. THere you are in trouble. I chosed Gurianov AND Namestnikov, as I thought they have a fit here.
But there is also as you picked. , and such. I dont belive in Dylan Strome, who plays like a 5"9 while being a big man.

NJ wont gladly throw away their 1A goalie for a 3rd rounder, sweet dreams.
And Kane wont evensign here, and not at all for just 5$. He has depth, and will just sign where he gets most total money.
Hs price starts at 6,5m$ with that playoff.
Im 55% sure that Puljujärvi will get traded.
Love that Gurianov signing _ IF Dallas would agree, cause they have spent A LOT of time tod evelope him, he will be expensive...

my Kraken ideal line-up
Thinking very close to alike, Gourde will be on IR, so I put Twyrnaski (or what his name is) as a add. I dontwant Wennberg be a first line C, I put McCann there. Schwartz- MCCann - Eberle, Järnkrok(later Gourde) - Wennberg - Donskoi, Tanev - Johansson- Appleton, Geekie - Blackwell- Bastian. You could do argument for a switch with Johansson to the 4th line to start with, to load up an powerful 3rd line with Blackwell/Geekie instead.
Or a second line all swede - Järnkrok - Wennberg - Johansson. But no one of them are physically intimidating or even close to being good on body players. Järnkrok being the roughest of them three.

What a strange team. Why not keep good players like Josh Arcibald, with that low cost?? Clearly you dont have much insight in Edmontons team. I would also keep Haas who has a lot of potential, Nygård and Khaira. And Ennis. No this was bad.

No one, including Tippet doesn´t know how the lines will be.
My guess is (as good as anyone´s guess) that Kassian will be playing on the top unit. RNH and Neal plays with Chiasson, a big checking forward who also can shoot and cycle. Gagner seems to have the coach trust as a creative player, but I think Jurco is even sharper, and third now is Nygård (I thought he would be 1 st to be tried) RNH prefers to play with Khaira, but I dont think he cut it as a top 6.IF he does, that would be very nice for Oilers.
IF RNH gets hes wish and play with Khaira:
Draisaitl McDavid Kassian
Khaira RNH Neal
Nygård Sheahan Chiasson
Jurco Gagner Archibald
Granlund as the 13th
Cave as the 14th
Haas to the AHL
SOooo many wingers now!!! Ni more complain about wingers...

Jurco RNH Neal
Nygård Sheahan Gagner
Khaira Haas Chiasson

Actually good. I dont think kronwall want to sign here. Manning has negative value, you need to add a sweetener. So you could just keep him this year. Same thing with Gagner - > Lucic + Puljujärvi + Gagner retained + 2nd round pick ´20, 3rd pick ´21, 2nd pick 22, 3rd pick ´22´for James Neal + Frolik.

So Edmonton signs thse players because of lack of money by bad management, and then signs Gardiner for 7 years. for 6,8 M$ each... I´m sorry, but your acknowledgement is thrown out of the window.
Ok by trading away Larsson they have J.Persson and Lagesson in the pipeline, but what about DO NOT sign Gardiner, and spend that money on two NHL wingers instead, if you ant to sign Ennis, sign him for less money, re-sign Chiasson, trade Puljujärvi for a 3C like Haula, add apick if neccesary. Wait for Benson, Marody, Gambardella to mature. That´s more... IQ-ness.

Maybe Lucic + Khaira for Eriksson + another outsorted player in vancouver, ex. GOldobin is a fair trade.

My way of doing Hollands job
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wqrrior</b></div><div>There is no way Washington doesn't match that. I like the attempt at the Haula trade.</div></div>
Probably. Burakowsky is a swing, but yes, all teams in this leauge value their prospects highly. A problem with a Puljujärvi trade, is that good GMs probably stay away from a good return for this player. The highest need for the team otherwise is a 3 center. Haula fits this team very good. A veteran center who can take defensive responsibiltys, and can have a little offense as well. Problem is, most teams hold on to all great to good centers. And as everyone know Holland values culture, veteranship, hiearki of experinced players, and attitude. So I thiink he quaifies most of the UFA/RFA players that has been with the team. And hold on to Russel and Sekera,, as they are good experienced players, and good for the team. WHy not keep Benning, I dont get most of peoples hate on him. He had growing pains, but I think he he is going to be fine. The D looks strong.
Holland has put out the word that he likes two good goalies, and thats a great idea. I dont know if Stollarz is the man, but I addes him as a roosterplayer.

2 Years
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>This is not my post, but I thought I'd address your questions / comments just for fun.
Agree with all of the above.
Agree, but it's possible Marody could be that guy. He's 52, 19-39-58 +30 in the AHL this year as a 22-year-old, he could easily translate to an NHL 3C in 2 years. I think the consensus opinion is that his skating needs to improve over the summer and he'll be an NHL regular next fall, so since this mock is two years out I don't think it's an unrealistic expectation.
The NHL depth chart isn't great today, but the pipeline is pretty full at RW.
- Puljujarvi has been playing injured, so we'll see what happens next fall, but he's a supremely talented young man and just 20 years old still.
- Yamamoto is also just 20, and while injuries and NHL time have cut into his development this year, he's still scoring above the level of most of his peer group. With a full year of development next year he will be ready to make an impact at the NHL level by 2020-21 for sure.
- Maksimov, a 19-year-old currently in the OHL, scored 63, 40-39-79 +38 this year even though he took on a more defensive role this year. He volunteered to play on the PK this year and did very well, he plays a complete 200-foot game and still scores 40 goals. NHLE: 82, 17-16-33. By 2020-21 he'll be a keeper.
- Kassian may not be a 1st line talent, but his skillset fits well there, just like Maroon's did and Tom Wilson in Washington. The great thing about Kass is he can play up and down the lineup and compliment the talent. The mock above has him on the 4th line so I'm not sure why you're making this comment?
- Draisaitl is at RW above, and he's a top-10 player in the league right now.
That's potentially a pretty solid set of wingers.
There's talk about it going up to $83 - 83.5M next year, so $85M is a conservative estimate for 2020-21.</div></div>
Well, if Marody is all that, that´s great! But the problem is, you can´t have a just "waiting year", becuase the talents need to taste NHL quality of the rooster, and compete.
They need a 3C and a LW winger on two years, and a RW on one year NOW.
But if the cap goes up to 85m$, that solves a lot of problems...
BUt probably should buy out Russel, or trade Sekera in one year, when Caleb Jones, Lagesson. Bear and Bouchard is in competing for spots for real.
That LW today,... horrible.

You don´t need to buyout Sekera, he is good in his own right, would fetch something. Buffalo fans still like him.
If you buy out Sekera, you could buyout Russel as well is you got him as a 7th defencemen for 4m$. I like that you adressed the LW. BUt they need a 3C BADLY. Good try tough. Edmontons own organisations depthchart for right wing is really suspect. Puljujärvi is the strangest player, Yamamoto is prbably not gonna be what everyone thought, and don´t play good with Draisaitl, Kassian is not a firstline talent, and thatis waht you have.
Is the cap really go up tp 85m$?

realistic - cap clearing and smart trades - feedback please
Nice try, but the proble is that NOBODY need Lucic, nobody wants Lucic. And defenitly not in a four years span. Edmonton is probably locked in to keep him in two more years, THEN trade him in a 50% retained + draftpick deal (the best), or a another bad contract-but I don´t want that for Edmonton. How much is FLorida paying in the end?? I can see Katz put up the money, because he needs to, for keeping the team competitive an McDavid happy, and Lucic is clogging the team up,
I´ve have done soe Edmonton tries, and I had also Jarnmark in my mind, somehow I think he brings stuff Edmonton needs.
And in many armchair GM tries, I see that Benning is the odd man out, and Brown is coming in, but that trade in itself is not wanted by Leaf fans.
I think Benning is a good player when paired with a veteran or Klefbom.
And I don´t think they should put the pressure on a young rookie like Benson to put him up in the top 6, It´s time to create a more healthy culture, fight and earn your spot. But of course, you need to have depth to make that possible... Os it´s a bad circle.. But put Benson on the 4th, to begin with, and let him work himself up.
So talking about that, I think Edmonton needs a 3C (veteran or not, somehow 2 way responsible, and have a hockeybrain), then two middle costly wingers to create a depth in the lines.
Maybe armchair GMs should GM Edmonton? That would meant bringing in Connor Brown, in almost every case, bringing Benning out, and may armchair GMs also like to bring in J.Donskoi, B,, Connoky and sometimes Kapanen.
Maybe a big trade involving Kapanen + Brown for Benning + prospect (maybe Bear, we already have Bouchard) ?
THe annoying thing is that Kicking out Lucic contract in itself would solve 85% of all problems, but at the same time, it´s probably the second worst contract in the leauge (Seabrook only worse), and almost impossible to trade, ´cause the team taking him can´t buy him out - it´s to expensive.
Wow, Was Chiarelli ever bad AND stupid.
