Keep ROR Max Skinner Extension

Botterill should lose his job over this trade.</div></div>
Absolutely lol, the trade is horrible. Also I read yesterday (from a reputable journalist) that Botterill was asking three first rounders from Montreal for ROR, which included last year's third overall selection and the 2019 1st rounder at that point seemed like a sure shot top 10 pick (+ an extra 1st rounder for 2020 I'm assuming). I get their divisional rivals but man that's a seriously ridiculous price, especially compared to what he settled for. Overall he just looks like someone that doesn't really know what he's doing.

I don't think you understand that the "projected cap space" is a number that's not set in stone lol. Are you aware that they can trade away players and contracts to increase that projected cap space? They have 4-5 guys at 5M ish that they can and will move to make room for Point.
He should sign for less than what he's worth because it's Tampa, but in Montreal, he would cost 2-3M more than you suggested. Thinking you can pry Point out of TB for 7.2M is pure delusion
The only way I see Point leaving is Tampa not matching an OS worth over 10.5M where they would get 4x 1st rounders as compensation

trading Connor McDavid
Still not enough with Tolvanen. The team that gets the better player almost always wins the trade. Which is why you need to "overpay" to make it closer. McDavid is the player that holds most value in the entire league. Ellis is a stud and Saros/Tolvanen are good prospects, but we're talking about Connor McDavid here, you're not even remotely close.

new habs lol
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Habsfan1011</b></div><div>If he was wanted back, he would come back in a heartbeat. I hear Nashville doesn't want him anymore (he's too $$$), so maybe they'd be interested in getting Weber back 1-for-1. If anything, Subban's the one who regressed, Weber's as good as ever (ever since he came back from his injury, Price has been amazing). But I miss Subban, which is why I want the trade to happen lol.</div></div>
I've been a Subban fan from day #1 and I still really like him as a player. However they traded him for other reasons than "he wasn't good enough". We've all heard things/rumors about what was happening behind closed doors and in the locker room with PK. It does not look good. Just remember his interactions with Gallagher in that game and Gally's post game interview. I really think bridges are burnt between him and the core of this organization, I would be extremely shocked if MB brings him back.

5 years for Point instead of 7 and save 3 first rounders? TB might match but even though Point is an amazing player I don't think he is worth 4 first rounders

You know the player actually needs to sign and accept that offer sheet? Also, TB would match that in a heartbeat and BriseBois would feel like he owes one to Bergevin.

Shaw just had a career year (maintained a 60 pts season pace) and brings a lot to the game that coaches and GMs like, they're not going to be dumping him for a 5th this summer

Future down the middle
We do need a LD, we actually need one badly lol, but if we draft a LD at 15 he's minimum 2 years away, and most likely 3+, from being top 4 ready and that's if he ever becomes a TOP 4 D. Which is why drafting based on immediate needs is not the best way to go about it IMO and also why teams almost always go BPA. Not saying I think they are going to draft Suzuki, but if they think he has the better NHL potential compared to the best LHD available at 15, I'm convinced they would go with him.

Brodin Marleau and Maata Trading Up
I would not take on Marleau for a year for only a 50-55 overall pick that has a <25% of being an NHLer and that would be minimum 2-3 years from now. Just not worth it at all, especially since you're helping Toronto.
