Hawks Rebuild Summer 2
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Funksoljah</b></div><div>I still think it's too much. Most fans would balk at a 1st going to Chicago for Murphy, but for some reason seem OK with a high 2nd and a former top 15 pick. Rosen may not be as shiny as Savoie, Ostlund or Kulich, but he has been developing nicely for his draft position. He's really come into his game the 2nd half of the season and Appert even said he felt Rosen was driving play as much or more than Kulich. He's far ahead of Kulich defensively, and he also played most of the season as a 19 year old which many overlook.</div></div>
You’re right. I dont want to lose Rosen but sure want rid of Bryson. Guess it’s different or worse than giving up first. I hope we get a decent 2 D for Power and better 3 left d and a good 4th centre like Acciari

If Orlov signed and played 3rd left id rather sign Gavrikov longer term and cheaper. Thoughts?
Btw. Our face-off percentages bad because of youth. They should steadily improve i hope

Trading kuzy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Funksoljah</b></div><div>A high 2nd seems a bit steep for Oshie to me. Almost 6 million in cap for a middle 6 forward who turns 37 near the beginning of the season. That's a poor use of assets, and he doesn't fit the age structure Buffalo has said they are looking for. If they add a middle 6 forward it would need to be someone younger who is a proven PKer or solid face-off guy (preferably both). He also has that 10 team no trade list.</div></div>
Agree totally.

Bring back the prince that was promised
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NeedTheCleanser</b></div><div>I’m of the opinion that Savoie and Kulich should both be back with Winnipeg and Rochester, respectively.
Peterka had a much better year than Kulich the year before and he kind of disappeared for half the season, I need to see domination from JK.
Plus this log jam is all young skilled guys. Team needs vet middle sixers</div></div>
I think KA going bargain bin projects until team ready. UPL,Jokiharu,Bryson,Olofsson,Greenway,Stillman will develop or be shed when contracts expire. I’m hoping he adds two decent d men but doubt it. He’ll add impact players after next season using prospects and draft picks to get who he wants long term. It’s smart but frustrating. Prospects will be worth much more as trade assets in a year
I’m not a Joker or Bryson fan and would love them gone but doubtful much happens till after next season

Gudas. Severson Dumba. Why settle and we can certainly overpay on anyone sensible. Funny he’s good enough for us and not you. We’ll be fine without him

Pens Retool to get better in all areas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JellyHockeyPens</b></div><div>I think you guys would be surprised how much a good RD would benefit the Sabres. I can almost guarantee with Petry instead of Lybushkin, Jokiharju, or Bryson the Sabres would've made the playoffs. The Sabres don't have much leverage considering Olofsson gets scratched and barely plays for Buff and with the amount of cap space that Buffalo will continue to have, retaining a bit of Olofsson and taking Petry's contract will cause no problems. The draft picks could be swapped around to make the trade work.</div></div>
We’ll sign Mayfield instead. Much cheaper younger and better player thanks

Could see Jost getting that Rousek contract, Rousek probably gets less that a Mill. If I am throwing that much at a goalie, might as well get Valarmov or Anderson. And like the Clifton signing, but think you are off a bit in both years and Avv. And Quinn should be where Greenway is and Kulich should be on Savoie's wing and Greenway on the 4th line. And in No way should Bryson ever hit the ice for the Sabres again.</div></div>
No Bryson saves us about .25 goals a game. Agree on goalies and would prefer Mayfield to Clifton. Thoughts?

Off-season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gretzkyghosts</b></div><div>If does appear that Ryan Johnson will sign elsewhere, that is a shame.
You know Adams sits on a horse shoe, how else could Juri Kulich have fallen to 28th OA.
IMO they will continue to draft the best player available and wait until the second round to get a defenseman.
Simashev appears to be a good option but unlikely to be available in the second round (but there is that horse shoe affect).
Reinbacher could be there for their first round pick and he is playing with R2 now, he 6', is competing against men and doing very well.
Axel Sandin Pellikka may also be available at pick 12, since he is only 5'9" he would not be my first choice.
Tom Willander another big body forward who could play the fourth line if he cannot break into the top 6.
6'2" RHD Dylan MacKinnon would be an excellent choice with the pick we got from LAK.
Have to put my faith in Jerry Forton and Jerahmiah Crowe as they wanted to move up to Kulich.</div></div>
Sorry i misspelled Tom Wilander a right d from Sweden. Sounds really great. Most drafts have Reinbacher and Pellikka before our 13th pick. Last year d men rated low till last minute then Nemec and Jirichek moved way up
Simishev sounds the closest to nhl ready with Reinbacher who’d be my first choice but doubtful he’s available. We won too much but not quite enough
A forward in first seems less than a good d because pipeline so full but we’ll see and nobody dumps young good d prospects unless theyre a disappointment
