Something to revisit in the offseason when Hertl is back skating. Really like the player and fit with Boston

If they are sellers
Being a Rangers fan until Seattle got a team, here are my 2 cents.
1. No way Eberle is worth a first. Anyone willing to pay a first for Eberle, even with salary retention can definitely have him. He's having a pretty down year, but leadership and veteran presence is something, and he's not a garbage player, so I think the best Seattle can expect is a 2nd and maybe a junior prospect with salary retention or without retention either drop the prospect or drop the pick to a 3rd with the prospect.
2. Wennberg is not worth a 1st in any scenario. I can even see him being a good fit for the Rangers. A 3rd is probably the fair price, but the Rangers don't have a 3rd this year or next year, so if the Rangers want Wennberg they'll probably have to part with their 2nd round pick. There's a few teams that may be interested in Wennberg for the right price too, especially with salary retention, so that could push the price up to a 2nd, but value is probably a 3rd, maybe a reclemation project that would get waived anyways to make room for Wennberg.
3. Daccord should be someone that is untouchable. He's playing incredible this year, is under 30 and under contract beyond this year for only 1.2 Million. That being said, as far as value for Daccord, if he were actually available, given the performance this year, the contract and the number of teams needing goaltending, I would expect someone would pay a 1st for Daccord. That being said, I still wouldn't take any call for Daccord if I were Seattle. As far as Schultz goes, I think he's a solid trade target for a team, but Toronto isn't that team. He's not the type of defender they need. To the right team he could be worth a 3rd rounder.

Next Year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Finski</b></div><div>I feel that Othmann is a sink or wim case starting next year. If you give him all the right tools in the NHL since his dawn in the league he will swim. Having him sit in the AHL can stunt his skills to an elite AHL level, but may never translate to the NHL.
Buying out Goodrow is another option, but I wouldn't mind sending a 2nd in this upcoming draft, since I do not see the 2nd round being incredibly deep.</div></div>
Othmann can really use some more work on his 5v5 game. Also chytil is another question mark too
Yea, but the rangers could use that 2nd this year for a rental and then you don’t have much to offer to get rid of goodrow. Buy-out is the most logical and isn’t that harmful

At least he has a spot on the right side. Othmann on the other hand has no spot unless cuylle becomes a 4th liner

Ranking by position for each player
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Finski</b></div><div>Mika yes, but Wheeler (while he has not been bad per se in the last 10 games) has not been the force of nature he once was. I like Wheeler, and he brings a very nice dose of very skilled veteran leadership to this NYR team. Wheeler is on this team for 1 reason and that is on this team is to bring a Stanley Cup to NY (so that is why I have classed him as a "filler player").</div></div>
That's true, he's lost quite a bit of speed over the last years, and doesn't score many goals, but he's still an excellent playmaker which shows from time to time.
I was glad that the Rangers got him and not some mid or bottom team. I would like to see him win a cup this year, if the Jets doesn't ofc 😁

You’d want to take Hughes out of the middle of the ice? I would think of all the guys listed here…McDavid and Hughes would be locked into center position.

I don’t mind these lines. I just hate that it has to be goodrow or Bonino centering the 3rd line. I’d rather Wheeler be “center” and go with Kreider-Wheeler-Vesey
Vesey is the only capable 4th liner to move up

Trouba and No Willy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Finski</b></div><div>NYR declines. Trouba has proven that he has one of the greatest assets in the NHL (fear). Players fear him, you know that if Trouba is on the ice you cannot be lazy or have your head down cause if you do you will get leveled. Trouba is also our captain and if we are not in a rebuild we will not move him. My guess is that Trouba stays in NY for a hot minute more. He is not worth his 8M contract, but he is worth 6-7 so at worst it is a 2M overpay at best a 1M.</div></div>
This is exactly why I want Trouba! He messed up Matthews shoulder a few years ago, I know his power. But I understand why New York doesn't want to trade him. If they are looking for cap space in the summer, I could see this being possible, but still unlikely.
