20-21 feeling optimistic
Extremely naive to think Trouba hits UFA. WPG trades him and the he signs long term wherever he is traded. Wings either need to offer sheet or get aggressive and trade.

Proof that they match? You don't win Cups by signing guys who don't want to play for your team long term.

Ehh...Cozens and/or Dach will go before Zegras. You also still have Caufield and Pod in there as well. More than likely one of those two get to 6 overall.

You're basically guaranteed to have one of Turcotte/Zegras. Wings give you the 6 overall pick....

He did. I'm sure Hughes was their pick until Zadina was still sitting there. Hughes fits way more of a need.

It baffles me how the Wings staff could scout both of them for all of 2017 (at the very least) and then pick Zadina over him. Especially knowing they'd have a change at Jack the very next year....

That's outrageous. Where is the overpay? His value may be slightly decreased due to his pending UFA status, but a B prospect and 2nd rounder for a 25 year old, RH top pairing Dman? Ummmmm, no.

I dont understand why people are assuming he hits UFA...not that this trade would be anything close to what it would take to get him, but I do think the Wings need to be aggressive and not just assume he hits UFA next year.

You do realize that DeKeyser and Lucic had about the same amount of points and goals last year right?</div></div>
You're right in the sense that he probably does not waive to go to the AHL but did you just insinuate that there's no difference between 35 and 8 lol. Did you also just refer to Glendening as a serviceable 3C lol.

Maybe enough to compete. I dont want to move pieces out. I agree we need to do something on the blue line but id rather buy myers this offseason and let the forwards develop and see what we have.</div></div>
Myers will be way too expensive and not nearly young enough (30 next year). Yzerman will not be doing that. I am hoping Yzerman realizes that D wins championships and builds the D like he did in Tampa - with aggressive trades and good contracts. This is that. I am fine with the giving up Zadina criticism haha.

That's true, obviously. I would rather not give up Zadina, but I would also love if Stevie somehow gets another 1st to draft Broberg. This draft could set us up for years to come. As long as the trade doesn't involve Mantha, AA or this year's 1st, I would be listening.

Broberg has every chance to be just as good a Dman as Zadina does a winger. This team needs D. End of story. 12 Zadina's don't mean sh*t without Dmen.
