Hold up, that offer is actually pretty solid. I'm personally as high on Jokiharju as I am on Valimaki.

Oh my god no it's not. The Flames are getting screwed here even with Frost in the deal.

Gaud bye
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mhockey91</b></div><div>CBJ would jump all over this trade. They trade spare parts for an elite winger to play with PLD.</div></div>
Yes and then they are worse when Gaudreau, Jones, and Werenski all need extension and Jones is the only RHD on the roster... try again. It’s not just spare parts. Gaudreau is good but not worth us trading what limited prospects and picks we have. Peeke is far more important to Columbus as he and Jones will likely be the only RHD on the roster following next season as Savard is a UFA. Bremstrom is a decent 3rd line RW can hopefully develop into a good depth scorer. Not to mention the 1st when we’ve only used 2 in the last 5 years. (Werenski and PLD)
So if you read what I said Calgary is underpay for Gaudreau the fit isn’t in Columbus. We also don’t exactly need a wing right now. We need a second line center.

Gaud bye
The reason is because he is going to walk in free agency anyways. There was a lot of talk of him wanting to do what Adam fox did before he ever even signed in CGY. There's a very slim chance he stays. While yes, he is a very skilled and talented player, he is very one dimensional and has showed that he can't produce in the playoffs. The dilemna is do you consider selling him high (after his 99 point season) or do you want to keep him till his last yr and sell high at a trade deadline? You cant risk him pulling a Tavares and you can get an absolute haul in return...

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Its a pretty common occurrence with him, I would be asking for Bjorkstrand + Foudy/Texier as the base</div></div>
Bjorkstrand was arguably better than Gaud last season and is not a lock to leave us in two years, as a CBJ fan i would not do those two one for one. Not to mention Gaud and Torts would probably not get along lol.
I dont think this package is "scraps" though. Peeke had to play in the NHL way early due to injuries and had fantastic analytics and looked good in a middle pair role. Bemstrom was a top 50 prospect last season and really heated up towards the end of the year. Then you have Anderson and first. I dont think either team does this but this package is not "scraps" imo

interesting to go way off the board with togersson. but its not like it hasn't been done before Detroit did the same thing with berregren in 2018.

Actually looks lime he meant to add Sergachev to the deal and added him after. But Montreal probably still says No but would do it for the 2 players OR the 2021 1st and one of the 2 players

Mercer hasn't really been a riser for me. I've loved him since I started paying attention to him about a year ago. I have him ranked 9th on my board (probably higher than most but I've seen some scouts with him in the 10-11 range)

Faulk has a full NTC and it's been rumoured for years he doesn't want to play in Canada, he's also essentially a cap dump.

5 fallers and 5 risers
I also think that Holtz will fall. Probably not as low as 15, but i wouldn't be surprised if he was taken outside the top 10.
I hope Holloway will be taken before 25. He's a great offensive, kind of power forward winger. If Habs draft around 13-15, I sincerely hope he's still there. Plus, in a draft where the top players are small, even though Holloway is not huge, his size may be an advantage.
For Bordeleau, he would be an incredible steal at 50. Except his size, he has all the tools to become a top6-middle6 forward in the NHL.
Poirier falling wouldn't be a surprise for anyone I think.
As for the others, I don't know a lot about them. Mercer seems like a legit top 20 pick, and Torgersson seems to get a lot of love from fans.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Subbanator7667</b></div><div>Domi with an extension for Hanafin is decent enough
But then the trade goes wrong, the difference between Gaudreau and Gallagher isnt 2 first round picks + a top 40 pick and a sweetener.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Smokingun71</b></div><div>Good trade for the Flames, not so much for the Habs.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Timmah007</b></div><div>Perfect you copied it. I’d really like to know why you like that deal from flames perspective.</div></div>
I believe they did it as a response to a Flames fan saying no deal. They're just pointing out why the trade was a good one from the Flames perspective. However <a href="/users/Flamedreamer" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@Flamedreamer</a> I think you should've did it for 2020-2021 so Domi's and Demelo's salaries would've been updated. Because they're significantly low.

He's got a high ceiling but he's a one dimensional player. I really liked his scoring ability but the rest of his game is not really great. I see him in the same range as Kaliyev last year but I don't know if he has the same ceiling.
