This is like the 10th time you've posted the same Zegras trade, and every time, you've been told by multiple people, including some from your own fan base, that it's a crap offer.
The level of us not wanting Anderson is to the point that I don't think the Winnipeg first even covers his negative value.

Why wouldn't you just play him at RW? As I recall, he's quite offensively gifted. Seems like he'd be an ideal 3RW instead of playing Palat on his off side

Buddy why you trying to start a fight today?
Trouba has a NMC, and is too old for a player we want as a main piece in a deal. Kakko is a bust, and for a RW we're specifically looking for right shot, and Kakko is a left.

No, but it does free up cap space for the Isles to get younger elsewhere.

Zegras is not coming to MTL please stop
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Blazingbat11</b></div><div>Generally speaking, everyone seems to be giving Dach's injury this past season a pass, simply because it was unrelated to any past injuries, and really was just a weird accident. But no doubt if he gets injured again next season, it's over for him. The reputation will be set.
As for his style of play. for the 60 games Dach has played for MTL, he is a very physical player. Excellent along the boards and can move people and claim space in front of the net. He is great in transition and a great skater for his size. As mentioned in my last comment, because of all of Dach's "tools", everyone tends to agree Dach's "ceiling" is higher than Suzuki's which is why Habs fans (and from Habs managements refusal to trade him for PLD) are all in agreement that he's not for sale. Even in a Zegras trade.</div></div>
That's fine that he isn't for sale, we don't want him, he's a reclamation project at this point, his development was mishandled in Chicago, and while this particular injury may have been an accident that could have happened to anyone (not unlike a broken ankle) the sheer number of man games lost is staggering. Dachs been in the league for 5 full seasons, for a total of 410 possible starts, he's played in 212 games. The reputation is already set, he'd have to have multiple 70+ game seasons to break the reputation at this point. Convince me he's any different than Patrick Laine. His style of play isn't in question, I know he tries to play physical, I'm saying he doesn't have the durability to do it.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>When did any of us, let alone the OP or anyone in this thread, let alone Giggy mention Zegras' health issues or build or play style or some oblique reference to allegedly "sunk cost"?
You have to stop re-characterizing what you hear people say, especially when they don't say it.</div></div>
Really don't know what that ones on about, like you can compare one injury riddled season in a career of 3.5, the rest of which were completely healthy, to a guy who has managed to start just 51.7% of his career games due to injury. Like dude, the numbers are damning.
As to build and play style, yeah, I know Zegras isn't big or tough to play against, my point is he's only worth giving up the incredibly high skill ceiling if we get back someone who is.
And not sure what the whole sunk cost thing he's on about is either, no one today would still take Dach over Zegras in that draft, even after this season.
But then again, I put him on ignore ages ago, and I can't say I'm regretting that decision.

Huge Rumor
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>This isn't a rumor -- it's a continuation of a prior ACGM.</div></div>
Well, yes, it's not a rumour, but it was written about by a <a href="https://phillyhockeynow.com/2024/04/24/philadelphia-flyers-trade-anaheim-ducks-address-team-needs/" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">Philly Hockey Columnist</a>
I question if he's taken leave of his senses as he also speculated that Tippett and Foerster wouldn't be pieces were interested in.
To answer his open ended questions, we can make Gudas the captain for two seasons, he's a perfect stop gap while the youth mature. He has the follow me factor, he has the intensity and emotion, and he's the last one off the ice every night high fiveing the entire team before tossing his stick to a fan. Everything about that tells me he would be a great short term captain.
As to Risto, I like Risto as a pickup, I've taken flack for liking Risto as a pickup, but he's an underwater contract and even in this article referenced as a third pairing defenseman (I know he's 2nd pair and can eat minutes, but I further question why Bailey speculates we would give up a major piece for a pending UFA and a bottom pairing cap dump, when a shiny new RW that fits the age group is sitting right there in great supply, and they're both goal scorers top which is what we need)

I agree with almost your entire assessment, except for the portion about Dach. I think it's been shown he's not durable enough to be an NHL player, let alone the kind of physical player Anaheim is looking for.
6OA + Mallioux, might be in the ballpark. I think Reinbacher and Mallioux is asking too much, you can't strip out a teams prospect pool of an entire position like that, so if it were Reinbacher, it would be a forward or a pick paired with it.
However, if MTLs not willing to part with an impact piece, Anaheim isn't willing to part with Zegras.

We're quite happy with our Gudas signing, and we have a Nation alreadin in Lesson, and we have no room for a LHD in Bahl, so this trade doesn't do anything for us at the cost of our only RHD signed for next season.
Thanks, but we pass.

What is Rossis value
Eh? Looked pretty good in his one season, but undersized is always going to be a knock on him, limiting his defensive ability, so he's going to need to produce a lot more than 40 points to justify his spot.
Would probably be better if you could push him to the wing and let him eat on offense.

First rule of assett management, you never sell low, he's still under contract for two more years, and his RFA rights are still intact after that. We have time to pump his tires if we want to trade him.

Capitals make the move for the future and get younger
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Logicalicesports</b></div><div>I agree with what you are saying there.
His value could come back up past that again, But it all depends on him and his work ethic going forward. I don't really follow the ducks so I don't know what his work ethic is like but I have heard some pretty shady stories (all from media so I dont know if they are true) that made it sound like hockey wasn't his main priority for a period of the beginning of this past season</div></div>
I really don't know why the sudden switch from golden child to public enemy number 1 in the media seemingly overnight, my only assumption is that now that Bedard exists he's the media darling, but I would have figured that just lessened the spotlight, not turned him into a lepper. The Seattle broadcast was particularly disgusting when he broke the camera in the penalty box, like he was the first guy who ever did that. The double standard he's being treated with these days is puzzling to be sure.
The end of the day, it was a lost season for him, but when he was on the ice, he towed the line, he worked on his defensive side of the game, he got his coaches praise, and the love of his team mates. He'll be a Duck next season unless we get an offer we can't refuse, and I think he's going to put up over 70 points next season and have a relatively flat +- on the season.

We have, in spades, the kind of pieces that you take with those picks, and the prospects offered already, this isn't adding anything we don't have to our system, while it's subtracting a very big piece from our roster.
If this was Pittsburgh, or Boston, who's pipeline is barren, it would make sense. Anaheim has one of the strongest prospect pools in the league, we don't need more middle of the lineup talent, and certainly not at the cost of a top of the lineup player.
Trades have to work for both teams, this doesn't work for Anaheim, you have to give to get, and all you're giving is spare parts. You don't get to have your cake and eat it too.

We're aware of all the pieces you've offered, we have equivalent pieces already in our system, several of them, we don't need to be adding more, over overpaid bottom 6 pieces. What we do need is a Zegras, or Zegras equivalent piece.

Capitals make the move for the future and get younger
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Logicalicesports</b></div><div>So would you consider him your future star over guys like Carlsson and McTavish? I feel like both of those guys are on his level and if not better. (Carlsson it may be too soon to tell but he seems to be legit) I am interested to see who gets priced out in the future because you will end up have a ton of players making over league average and probably will end up in a position much like the leafs how they are soaking so much money into 5 guys</div></div>
I would counter with our GM isn't an idiot who is going to walk guys to free agency and hand out trade protection, but only time will tell on that. As far as the players, they all bring something different. Verbeek has commented that he wants Carlson and Gauthier to play on the PK next season to make the opposing teams risk adverse for fear of a short handed goal. McTavish has that dog in him and the "follow me" factor, he's probably the next captain, though he's got some time before he's ready. Leo is probably out 1C going forward, and while he was 6'3" while drafted, he's reportedly still growing and should end up around 6'6". That size, vision, it'll be like having a Getzlaf that can actually skate. We've got a bright future ahead, and we can worry about paying guys when their contracts come due.
However if Verbeek was actually interested in moving Zegras, last off-season was the time to do it coming off back to back 60 point seasons.

No impact piece, no Zegras, we don't care how many first round equivalent pieces you throw, we don't care how many late 1st round picks you throw.

Reinbacher + 25 2nd
Slafkovsky
