Small Changes
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>Unless we have an injury, it doesn’t sound like Devils GM is looking for smaller goalie move. Maybe that changes if we strike out on Saros, Gibson or Markstrom.</div></div>
Like I mentioned in the description I could easily see this being another team, NJD was just the one I picked to get Jones out for a pick.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BleedOrange23</b></div><div>Well I think you answered your own question the deal isn't happening. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but Philly won't just be selling for the sake of it. If the Leafs don't have the picks and don't want to part with any decent prospects then there isn't a deal here to be made.</div></div>
I’ve read a bit more on Frost’s turnaround this season and changed the trade, adding Niemela along with the picks. I think it’s the best the Leafs could do and what I think would be fair value.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Snowhawk18</b></div><div>Honestly if you think anyone is giving the Leafs anything for that pile of garbage you are out of touch with current player values in relation to the league wide cap situation.
Additionally, to think Brodie can rebuild value in the 3+ weeks leading up to the TDL is delusional, the rest of the league has watched his game slip for the last season and a half, he was totally exposed in the playoffs last year… he’s washed. Three plus weeks of play cannot erase those images.</div></div>
It’s not as if Reaves and Timmins deals are in the multiple of millions, they’re deals that could be buried just not for the Leafs in the offseason. I have changed the trade to include retention on Brodie’s salary and dropped the 3rd to a 4th, hopefully making the potential to profit on the deal more achievable.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BleedOrange23</b></div><div>Thats fine there are multiple people stating that Philly wants a 1st, and if you look at some of the deals from last trade deadline it's reasonable. Will he get that? Who knows, but after the two Calgary defensemen walker is easily the best available. Philly has the luxury of not needing to sell anyone. For Frost, he was scratched at the beginning of the year for holding out and Torts wasn't thrilled with his two way game. He and Torts had a heart to heart and he has been a mainstay in the top 6 ever since. He played more minutes than any other center in our last game. O you did offer a 1st for Frost, 2 years from now. Philly wants to be really kickstarting things in 2 years, they want 2024 picks.</div></div>
In order to get the deal done what would you suggest on top of what has been offered? Keep in mind that the 1st is the last pick the Leafs would have in the first two rounds for three years and they aren’t willing to move on any of their top prospects, Knies, Minten or Cowan.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>evelutions2</b></div><div>Alright then, is Martin Jones better than Adin Hill was when he got sent to Vegas? Cause if memory serves correctly, Hill went for a 4th, which considering the differences between the 2, Jones would be lucky to get a 4th.
Guys like Vladar and Jones in all likelihood going to go for a 5th/6th rounder.</div></div>
I believe the goalie market is busier this year though, maybe a 3rd is the ceiling for what Jones could bring for a desperate team. Also Jones has better stats than Vladar this season so I’d say he’s worth more as a rental.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BleedOrange23</b></div><div>I'm not sure where you saw that the top ask for Walker is a 2nd, but it is widely known that they want a 1st for Walker. For Frost, it's unlikely he gets moved. If he would it would have to be a massive overpay, he is playing extremely well rn.</div></div>
I seen Frank Seravalli put up a graphic of all the defensive players who have been traded for a 2nd in previous years and the panel agreed that Walker doesn’t come close to any of them. With regards to Frost, he was a healthy scratch multiple times this season and played bottom 6 minutes, yes he’s playing much better now and that’s why I’ve offered a 1st for him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JK74</b></div><div>Then skip the middle man and find a team that could actually use Brodie. Then send Reaves to the Marlies and poof cap hits disappear. Chicago is the wrong team to be paying for scraps they don't need. Actually I don't see any team paying for scraps they don't need.</div></div>
The reason for a middle man is due to the fact that most teams looking for a player like Brodie can’t afford his cap hit. If the Leafs retained $1m in this deal then it would allow the Blackhawks to retain some more making his Cap Hit more attractive to potential suitors. Reaves and Timmins are included in this deal from the Leafs perspective to reduce allocated money next year and in Reaves case the year after.

Can’t disagree with anything you’ve said I’m just going off the potential to make more off him than what they’ve paid, plus I don’t see Timmins and Reaves as massive cap dumps just the culmination of them and Brodie. I’ll be editing the roster after reading a few comments to align it more with what the general consensus is as I think the deals are not far off what’s possible.

I think Brodie is worth a 2nd that’s why I’m taking the 3rd especially if Toronto retained some of his salary to help the Blackhawks deal him at the deadline. This roster as it stands with the trades has just over $2M left over in Cap space so retaining isn’t a problem.

If Brodie sorts his game out between now and the deadline I think he could bring in a 2nd and 4th, potentially more if the Leafs retain some of his contract maybe up to $1M leaving the Blackhawks in a position where they could retain as well.

The Kampf trade I believe is an interesting idea, I didn’t realise that insurance covered Voracek’s salary. I’d be open to removing the 7th from Arizona and adding a 5th or 6th from Toronto to get the deal through.

To be honest the Blackhawks deal is a salary and roster space dump. I still think a 3rd is fair especially if Brodie is flipped at the deadline.

The trade for Frost is due to him being on a number of trade boards, I wouldn’t be opposed to the 3rd being replaced with a prospect.

I could’ve picked from multiple teams, Carolina was just the team I ended up choosing. For his Cap hit and numbers this year I think a lot of people will be surprised at what he could bring in a trade.
