Bye bye Joseph
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hawksguy81</b></div><div>Joseph is overpaid by at least $1m per year year for what he does as a player. He has 3 years left, and his actual salary is more than his cap hit. Contracts like that aren't easy to move in this cap environment. And based on his history as a player, last year was right in line with what he produces offensively. I'd argue that last month of the 21/22 season after Sens acquired him was the outlier - not last year. Finally, Hawks don't need him. They probably take him to get the 2nd rounder, but Joseph isn't a player who makes the Hawks better or will be there long term in their rebuild. At best Sens get back one of the Hawks NHL 4th liners like Entwistle or Anderson, who could be sent to the AHL with no cap penalty if they don't make the team.</div></div>

If it was Joseph and a second for future considerations would you consider that? Hawks aren’t gonna be good for at least 3-4 years Jospeh’s contract will be over by then.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mvp13</b></div><div>Why are you paying Pius Suter nearly as much as you are underpaying Pinto?</div></div>
Because Shane had one 20 goal season on the second line basically all year long. He will be playing in the third line this year and if he continues to produce points he will get a better contract. If he takes this deal Pius suter could help him on the third line.

How much do hawks fans want. He’s a decent player with some injury issues and had a down year.

Gonna need more than that in the DeBrincat trade. At least a first and a third liner coming back.

WILD CARD ATLEAST
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tommybarzy</b></div><div>The value isn’t horrible if DeBrincat signs long term, but the islanders are looking to add DeBrincat to their window, which Nelson is a huge part of. He’s a 40g, 70p caliber center who’s only gotten better with age. Trading him goes against Lou’s recent moves aiming at keeping open the islanders current window.
But if you’re deadset on a basis for a nelson-DeBrincat trade, this is a good offer that would make the islanders think.</div></div>
There are four teams I know about on debrincats list which are Detroit New York Dallas and Nashville. I don’t see anyone replacing Debrincats spot in ottawa on any of those teams that they would deal to ottawa. All I see is a pool of picks coming from those teams. I don’t think the islanders except this deal but it’s a good one to think about

Konecny and Laughton for DeBrincat, First off both Konecny and Laughton are worth more than DeBrincat and a 1st and 2nd rounder as there is no way in hell DeBrincat signs long term in Philly. They're not even in on him.</div></div>
