<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsCanucks</b></div><div>I didn't want to trade any of the picks for this, so everyone stayed at the spot where they landed after the lottery simulation. Catton would be a good choice for San Jose too (I have them both a fair bit higher in my rankings), but I do think Buium could be a big upgrade over the Shark's current LHD prospects.
Demidov would be a great pick at 2; I have him second on my rankings at the moment. I think Lindstrom is a lock for the top 5 though, so he'll probably end up a lot higher than you'd like if you're not sold on him.</div></div>
Yeah that's fair, pretty impossible to account for potential trades.
But I think Mukhamadullin has a similar ceiling to Buium and is essentially NHL ready, then they have Thrun who's shown to be a really solid 2nd pairing guy already in the NHL, then obviously Ferraro who's only 25 and a really great 1st pairing d-man when paired with a puckmoving RHD, and Cagnoni who is more and more impressive every week and could be a really special player. I feel all would be hard done by to be on the 3rd Pairing in the future.
Yeah I could really see Lindstrom go anywhere between 3-12

I wonder if CBJ would take Catton at 4 if Lindstrom is gone due to a need at C. They have Fantilli, but then KJ might not be that 2C and Voronkov isn't a 2C. And they don't have anyone else really

Sharks are super deep at LHD. I think they'd almost definitely trade up to get Parekh or Yakemchuk if they get Celebrini. If they're not able to, the they possibly even prefer Catton or Helenius at 11 over Buium.
I think Chicago likely take Dimidov at 2, but I'm just not super blown away by Lindstrom overall

Flyers decline firmly. They’re pretty high on Ristolainen - I know Toronto made calls and the price was high. They’re not gonna swap him for a terrible contract like Anderson with no incentive

Dach can play on the wing, it's not as if Montreal is some center depth juggernaut.

Savard
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsCanucks</b></div><div>I didn't think it was possible until I saw that Chris Johnston clip with Savard in their top three trade targets. Still unlikely, so you're probably safe on that front, although I don't think it would be that bad for Toronto given the quality of the late 1st rounders this year. Savard would bring some positive value in the playoffs at least.</div></div>
The thing is though is while he is a big boy, we need a defensive-minded RD to carry Rielly's horrible D. Savard was an amazing DFD during his tenure at CBJ, but he's given up on defense and gone full OFD in MTL. Does he turn it around or change his style up in TOR? Too big of a risk, especially for a first rounder. I know it's odd to say Savard is now an OFD, but he has contributed decently offensively but his defensive quality has dropped down significantly.

That's two low 2nd +4th for a 75% retained top 4 Dman.
How dead was the market that Calgary didn't believe they could get more value at TDL?

I don’t think NJD would buy Mikhayev…that final year is when Holtz and Luke are due raises.
But just to play along….
Tofolli (50% retained $2.125m).
Mikheyev (30% retained $1.425m)
2025 1st

February Ranking of Top 32
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsCanucks</b></div><div>Thanks!
Yeah, Connelly would be on my Do Not Draft list if I were a team, but the ranking here is just based on the hockey side of things. What would your comp for him be?
Yakemchuk and Iginla could definitely end up going higher than I have them now, though top 5 would be quite the reach considering the other prospects available.</div></div>
I don’t know where the comp is for Connelly. But i saw plenty of Jack Hughes in his U18 year and he was on his own planet. Completely controlled the pace of the game. I haven’t see enough of Connelly, he seems to play very fast and would need to see him play at the U18s in April to what he looks like when the tempo gets controlled by better opposition/linemates and when he runs into real traffic.
The one thing that strikes me about him that would be a concern, he interacts a lot with the opposing bench. So he might be easily be affected and drawn into stupid plays or situations. But maturity could solve that with time.
This is an exciting time for prospect watching, a couple of guys will shoot up in the next couple of months. Looking forward to seeing that happen.
Great ranking! Thanks for sharing.

February Ranking of Top 32
Don't get me wrong. I love Macklin Celebrini. But as a prospect, future NHL'er... He will be nowhere near Sidney Crosby at any level.
Do we just forget that Sid had 168 points in 62 QMJHL games?
Other than that, Think it's a good analysis and exploration of the draft :)
