Getting the 2nd overall pick in the Lottery
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>IconicHawk</b></div><div>First Pick: Adam Fantilli, Ok that was a no brainer
Second Pick: Moved down to draft Lukas Dragecevic, Very very questionable move considering he’s an awful defender and a suspect skater</div></div>
The Habs are very short on right-handed defensemen, that's why I chose him.

He'll still return at least that much and probably more with retention.
Same with Anderson. Don't move him just for the sake of moving him. He's a solid player to have and difficult to replace. Slafkovsky is still a kid and will hopefully replace him over time, but give him that time.
No rush or panic in either case. Their contracts aren't hurting us and they are good supports for development of our youth.</div></div>
You're right, no rush but hard to say no to these trades if offered

Picking in the top 10
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>-Kings pass. If they're gonna start cashing in their young forwards, I feel like they use them to get upgrades at the NHL level, not flip them out for a future and an older prospect.
-Edmonton has Campbell & Skinner both signed long-term - why would they target another goalie with term? I could squint and see them targeting a rental this year if they juggle some things, but this just seems like a weird use of their assets - not to mention an odd one for Montreal. I'm sure you could get JP out of Edmonton for a song at this point, and Jake Allen would be more valuable in a tandem with Sam Montembault than Cayden Primeau.
-Hoffman is starting to pull himself out of cap dump territory but he's still in the "traded for FCs/lower prospects at best" zone. 10 points in 24 GP with a $4.5M cap hit doesn't scream out as a guy you pay a pair of 2nds for.
-Anderson is a worse version of Mantha, so right there the Caps pass on this one. I can see the need for Edmundson, but Dvorak doesn't strike me as a guy they would target - they're trying to move Lars Eller because they already have better players ahead of him at center, and Dvorak just takes his place as an overpaid 3C.
-You'd be lucky to get anyone to take Armia off your hands. Wideman is cheap enough I could see someone throwing a 6th or 7th at you for him.
I also think you're giving Monahan way too much and Caufield not enough. Cole's on a 40-45 goal pace so I think you extend him the full 8 years in the $7.5-8M range; the only way I see him signing that low is if you bridge him for 2-3 years, and then you're just gonna pay through the nose for him down the line. Monahan, meanwhile, is a guy you should look at the Andrew Copp or Vincent Trocheck deals for value. I see him getting 4x$5M at most; his injury history makes anything longer than that a bit of a risk in my book.</div></div>
Very good insight

Petry is not being traded to a Canadian team. His family doesn't want out of just Québec but out of Canada as well because of the vaccination restrictions. Mrs Petry's sister cannot cross the border to help with the 4 children because of this.

As was stated a little higher, Petry isn't getting traded to a Canadian team. Mrs Petry wants her sister to help raise her 4 children but because she is unvaccinated, she cannot get across our border, no matter which province. So All Canadian teams are off the market for Petry

Adding a 2nd from which draft ? And I wouldn't do it for the first overall but the second, that's a different story. The idea is that the draft is in Montreal this year and most here hope Hughes will try to make a BIG splash. Will this be it, who knows until it happens, if anything happens.

I wasn't talking about Drouin getting 60 points per season but Kuznetsov. Would reduce the pressure of the Suzuki and Dvorak line. It's not like it's gonna happen anyways but was fun thinking ( writing ) about it

Besides, he's a player who gets 60 points per on ave. Not too shabby and very much needed on the Habs. Making the playoffs this year is gonna be so tough.

The number of the line doesn't matter. Last yr, Danault was up against the best on the other side, he wasn't our 1st line center though.

Well, the way I see it, Dvorak's line will be going up against the opponent's 1st line. Drouin is offense only, that's why he's with Hoffman and Gallagher ( Gally has more upswing on the defensive side ).
