I have confidence in the Avs, but almost zero in Georgiev. After a confidence booster last night (despite Edmonton sitting their top line), I think I feel a little better.

After giving it thought I think you're right. Not happening. Let's just go get Swayman or Ullmark. Matthew Davis might help too lol

Keeping Drouin
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tupty</b></div><div>I don't like Jarry's contract. He lost the starting job at the end of the season to Ned, who is a UFA. If PIT retains half then maybe you could trade a 2nd, but I don't think they would do that and I think you all have better options in net that don't require draft picks. If Landy comes back, you all almost certainly need to just grit your teeth and move out a contract.</div></div>
Hence the Manson trade (or Girard)

Keeping Drouin
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tupty</b></div><div>Why are the Avs giving up a 1st round pick to make what appears to be a lateral move in net with very marginal cap savings from the swap? That seems like change just for the sake of change with a very high cost.
I also think you should lower your expectations on the return for whoever you all choose as your cap dump. It won't be as bad as it was this past offseason with the cap finally going up, but a 2nd coming back for Manson at his current age and contract alone seems high. He does still have value though, so I don't think it is so dire that you'd need to attach picks to move him. With teams knowing that this is a cap dump, the value of the return will be depressed.</div></div>
Saw a deal similar to the Jarry deal with a 2nd instead of a 1st with no retention. We need something retained somehow. Maybe just add another mid pick instead?

Yeah I just can't see a way that everything else gets done and we keep both of Girard/Manson

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TJTwolf</b></div><div>No to the Jarry deal. It's giving up assets for a lateral move at best. If SJ will do that and aren't on Manson's NTC list then pull the trigger. Could even drop the pick lower and I'd probably say it still works.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rob32sjsharks</b></div><div>I like Mason, but giving up a high 2nd for a 32 year old making 4.5 for a couple more years runs a high risk of regressing, plus we’re likely not in his list.</div></div>
Yeah just used his trade out of Anaheim as a direct comparison. I would do it for a 3rd instead of a 2nd

Avs Devs
Not bad. I personally prefer to keep Manson but hey Marino would be a fine replacement. Yes, Colorado definitely adds at least a 3rd or so. I do have a couple grievances against this lineup tho. For one, I don't think Drouin touches that deal...at least not the term. Maybe he does a bridge deal with that but no way he does that money for 4 years. Secondly, you're assuming a lot goes well with Ritchie taking 3C right away, and idk about Kovalenko at center. Am open to trying him there tho

Help
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Cub19</b></div><div>This team is so frustrating.
Difference between 2022 cup team and this team is secondary scoring.
Bottom six isn't producing. Cogs and parise hasn't scored in idk how long. Wood and kirivanta hasn't either.
Colton and duhaime have been only ones producing.
You can kiss central division good bye. So much for home ice through out the playoffs.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TJTwolf</b></div><div>There was only one goal tonight you could totally put on Georgie.
First was on Girard coughing up the puck and Georgie was left hung out to dry.
Second was the broken stick play but Walker was marking an open patch of ice somewhere in the practice rink.
Third was a PPG with lost coverage by Makar or arguably Nichushkin. Nichushkin let the guy go and expected Makar (rightly imo) to take him and thus set up the box for the PK.
The fourth was totally on Georgie, went straight through him like he was a tea bag there.....perforated!
Fifth was simply a good goal by Dallas.
Sixth was lost coverage again by Mittelstadt/Girard and Manson, can't let guys walk the puck into your crease.
Seventh ENG...can't stop it from the bench!
The D simply need to go back to basics and learn to defend. All well and good being able to attack from the D but you also have to defend as well.
I'd be shocked if they won the cup with this line up and I hate to say it but Kadri really is the missing piece at this point. You always heard his name, most of the time for the right reasons and he was always involved. Mittlestadt is a ghost so far. Thanks for showing up awards go to Colton, Duhaime, MacKinnon, Lehkonen, Drouin and Trenin.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MrLaheySays</b></div><div>Avs defense has been trainwrecked this year and i dont know if its a coaching issue or whatever, but you cant blame a goalie for a team collapse. The amount of games where the Avs are lazy to start the game and let the other team go up 1-0 or 2-0 early is a sign of players not playing 60min. When the goals against are on PP's from taking stupid penalties, youre digging from a hole constantly.
Also, factor in the non stop inconsistency with the roster. Goalies thrive on consistency as they know how the players in front play (style/mentality). no Landeskog, Nichuskin in and out of lineup all year, girard was out, lines shuffled, Lehky out, etc...
Colorado hasnt had a healthy roster in half a decade. Thats the issue. Bednar coaches with zero passion and emotion behind the bench, and their strength and conditioning coach needs to be escorted by the Dutton family to the train station.</div></div>
My emotional hedging is over lol 😂

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TJTwolf</b></div><div>Girard and Walker could both go for all I'm concerned. It's not that they aren't good but the Avs won't be able to afford Walker and Girard will probably give us the best return if we move him (better than the return above as well). They're both also replaceable (in theory) by guys we have in the system (Behrens and Sward on the left and Malinski on the right) and if we want a veteran points scoring D we could pick up Gustafsson pretty cheaply in UFA I'm sure (Landy could have a word with his childhood buddy I'm sure). Colton I like but again if necessary he could be moved and replaced more cheaply and so far I'm not that impressed with Mittlestadt though I guess we have to keep him unless Crosby somehow becomes available.</div></div>
I've actually liked Mitts a lot outside of the last couple games, but yeah
