Montreal Weber Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HarterCart79</b></div><div>I agree he doesn't play that contract out, but MTL would never retain salary for the next 7 years, why would they especially when you're handing them Voracek's contract. I don't necessarily hate this idea, but I wouldn't want to take that risk that Weber is still playing at 40 or 41 like a Chara, but not as good. Chara still brings something to the table with his absolute size, and Weber could with his shot, that's not going to go away, but still not enough for me to want to keep him at that age if he refuses to retire. Also don't really want Shaw for 3 years because he's going to be blocking a Farabee, Ratcliffe, Frost if Hayes signs because Frost will be a wing in the NHL then or they'd never have a spot for him.
I'd much rather work a trade with this same package to Nashville for Subban and say Craig Smith. Serviceable RW, 1 year left on his deal, then let the kids come up and take over for good.</div></div>
Weber's contract really isn't that bad at all, even in the later parts of it. He has one of the grandfathered contracts that are now illegal for teams to give out (he signed a 14 year $110mil deal, remember.). If ever Weber declines to a stage where he isn't worth his $7mil cap hit, his actual salary for the last 3 or 4 seasons are just $1mil. Teams seeking to reach to cap floor will take him.

Frost seems to be NHL-ready, but I don´t think that you need to rush him by now.
With Aube-Kubel, we seem to agree. ;)
I don´t see why Talbot should be better - and I like the teaching effect that Elliott could have - but that´s onl a personal thought / feeling.
Here´s my (this morning updated) suggestion:
<a href="https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/227371&post_id=888881">https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/227371&post_id=888881</a></div></div>
No sorrys mate!
Talbot is friend of Hart so he can be his mentor.
They would likely have Frost as NHLer but in 3rd line role with Nolan Patrick as his centerman and Frost would be RW and Konecny on LW.

Speak english, buddy. But to answer with my broken bad german..
Frost bist bereit für NHL.
Aube-Kubel werde empfangen die xt. Ich habe keine idee warum der Autor has nicht kontrakt für Aube-Kubel.
Talbot ist jünger als Elliott und is besser.

NYR 19-20 dream
I think with their talent pool the rebuild can be sped up and I think these signings would make them a certain playoff team again and these kids can learn a lot from players of that calibre.
I have to agree on the Howden trade, that was stupid so I reverted that one, thanks for the input.
But we shouldn't overrate Kakko, as good as he is, he's going to be extremely young in this first year and take some time to adapt if you ask me.

Byram makes more sense
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NickC1988</b></div><div>Do you really think they'll be able to send him anywhere with his NMC? As well as Miller with his NTC? They also get 3 young NHL players on bridge/"prove it" contracts.</div></div>
Callahan has a 16 team list...so there are some options, but it's not nearly as many as people think. I actually did a post a long time ago that boils down how Callahan would approach this 16 team list. IMO...if Callahan wants to win ONE Stanley Cup in his career...probably not far fetched...He can force his way down to 4 teams. example...TOR can be on his list of tradable teams....GOOD LUCK trading him to TOR! It comes down to essentially 4 teams...NYR, NYI, CHI, and he adds 1 more team. Callahan and the #27...with Forsling+ going back should get it done though.

Swapping Michiganders for Manitobans then filling the holes
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Csick123</b></div><div>Its not enough to get that return from Winnipeg</div></div>
I figured, just threw it together fairly quick. I was thinking...
1. Mantha + 2nd = Connor
2. Howard + 1st + 2nd = Helle (need to add from DET?)
3. Helm + 3rd = Copp
4. Bowey + 2nd = Trouba (need to add from DET?)
EDIT: Rasmussen added in as the equalizer.

Marner plus Turcotte Next Kane and Toews
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mhockey91</b></div><div>That looks like a stacked team.
Do you think Kubalik is gonna step into the NHL next season and pull a Kahuun?</div></div>
Kubalik could really be a gem for the Hawks. Been watching the guy slaughter every goalie in the Swiss league in the past year and a half, and he's definitely ready for the NHL. Speed, skill, work ethic, can use his physique... the guy has it all. Once they put him up with Kaner, they'll realize how good he is. I see him having more impact than Kahun to be honest. Give Kubalik some decent TOI in the top six and he'll shine
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>IronCity09</b></div><div>Kubalik will play for Ambri-Piotta in 19-20 - or have there been signs that he could step in the NHL this year?!</div></div>
Paolo Duca (Ambrì's GM) has been pretty straight forward in stating that Kubalik won't be playing for Ambrì Piotta next season

He has a contract in Ambri, but everyone here in Switzerland is expecting him to leave. I thinke he's capable to pull a Kahun if he plays in the top 6. His talents would be wasted on a 3rd or 4th line.

Brayden Point OS
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>IronCity09</b></div><div>In my opinion:
- Toronto won´t give up a 1st-rounder and Kapanen for Gostisbehere
- the offer sheet seems to be okay, but I don´t think Tampa will let go Point anyway - a crowded offense-pipeline like the one of Philadelphia doesn´t need him (Frost even might be NHL-ready in 19-20)
- the deal for Spurgeon is unnecessary and overpayed
- Konecny has earned - and will receive - way more than 2.85 mio per year
- Kapanen and even Hartman will receive more than they get on your roster</div></div>
I don't think that Hagg who was statistically one of the worst defenseman in hockey plus a russian kid who has work ethic issues and couldn't stick on the Flyers after he won the 3C job out of camp and a first rounder that might not play in the NHL for 3-4 years is a huge overpayment for a guy you can make your top-pair D. I know he only has 1 year left, but thats where I was coming from. There's a question with the contract and the cost to retain the player, so the pieces I sent back all kinda have question marks too.

CHICAGO NOW and FUTUR
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>IronCity09</b></div><div>Trading up isn´t an option, I think he will fall to 6th overall because of the other teams needs and especially don´t see the Blackhawks adressing a dman - with the crowded quality of forwards - at 3rd overall.
Colorado will go for a versatile forward (like Cozens) and LA for a "sniper" (like Kaliyev, Turcotte or even Caufield).
It´s hard for a German to stay with the beat of all Northamerican Leagues all year long (I´m proud just missing 2 playoff-games this year of my favorite team, the Bruins), but I recently made a short Mock Draft 2019 (for myself) with short explanations, and there Dach goes 3rd and Byram goes 6th overall - maybe it´s as simple as that. :D</div></div>
It could be that simple. As a CHI fan, I have a different view point. I do agree there's more quality forwards at the top of the draft....AND...I would prefer CHI to draft the best available, BUT with a number of quality forwards...it's possible they could trade down and still get a quality forward. That can't necessarily be the case for Bowen. If a team REALLY want Bowen...there's a sure way to do it. Trade up! Good thoughts! Great convo!

Murphy was their best Defensive defenseman. Something this team lacks, defense. Absolutely not on the Toronto trade. The only way I'd want Marleau is if Kapanen is included, but not with Murphy attached.
Roussel is older, less productive. Let's give them a higher pick and a younger, better player? Nah.
Anisimov isnt fetching a high 2nd.
