<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Campabee</b></div><div>LMAO, why do you keep trying to make comparisons for players who are at opposite ends of the talent pool. Beauvillier doesn't have Kotkaniemi's talent and doesn't play the same position. KK at 20 is a top 6 center and had potential to be a 1A/1B center. Beauvillier is 4 years older and has hit his ceiling of a middle 6 winger. You are lucky I see the potential inBeauvillier and think he is worth Norlinder + Poehling + 1st that is more than most middle six wingers will ever get. And now that I have been thinking about it and reviewing stats I will adjust my assessment I think you would be lucky to get a 2nd for Beauvillier given his age, stats and contract status. The guy has hit his ceiling he isn't going to suddenly break out and put up 70 or 80 points or score 25+ goals.</div></div>

imagine thinking kotkaniemi is a top 6 center - take a look at those numbers! yikes.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Expecting Kotkaniemi to step into the lineup as a great top six centre this season was maybe a little optimistic. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/GoHabsGo?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">#GoHabsGo</a> <a href="https://t.co/YKXYO6uZA1" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">https://t.co/YKXYO6uZA1</a> <a href="https://t.co/H6IDH5F3J5" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">pic.twitter.com/H6IDH5F3J5</a></p>— JFresh (@JFreshHockey) <a href="https://twitter.com/JFreshHockey/status/1373691284628590592?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">March 21, 2021</a></blockquote>

you are so full of sh*t - Kotkaniemi has not been a strong play driver so far in his NHL career and his pt totals have been mediocre. He is not a top 6 center right now and he likely tops out as a 2C. Montreal rushed him and stifled his development.

- Beauvillier was on pace for 26 goals this season and I just proved to you that Beauvilliers overall impact is better than 87% of NHLers over the last 3 seasons. Do the math you mental midget. He had 35 points in his last 44 games of the season (65 pt pace) in Trotz system

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Anthony Beauvillier looks like a good two-way 2nd line forward. Hope he scores zero goals tonight. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Isles?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">#Isles</a> <a href="https://t.co/GWPyT1Hd6h" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">https://t.co/GWPyT1Hd6h</a> <a href="https://t.co/smK3344hw8" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">pic.twitter.com/smK3344hw8</a></p>— JFresh (@JFreshHockey) <a href="https://twitter.com/JFreshHockey/status/1396937282503028739?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">May 24, 2021</a></blockquote>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Campabee</b></div><div>OH COME ON! That's like me saying only one person on NY makes sense to trade Armia for and that is Barzal! Look I get that you like Beauvillier and he is a great middle 6 forward but you don't get top talent for middle 6 wingers! Think about what you just said! Caufield and Suzuki! Give your head a shake! Now you lost all credibility IMO!</div></div>

middle 6? That's funny. He leads all isles forwards in wins above replacement over the last two seasons, was on pace for 26 goals , and increases the rate his team scores 2x as much as the average forward. HE is currently a high end 2nd liner and would be a 60-65 pt player in an offensive minded system. Armia on the other hand is a low end 3rd liner, he is not very good but will get overpaid based on his playoff performance.

From Bleacher report recent article on Beauvillier

"The left wing is well-rounded offensively. He's strong at creating zone entries, forechecking and cycling the puck. He's a shoot-first forward who can create trouble around the net front. Defensively, he's reliable and responsible, a requirement to survive in a Barry Trotz system. Because of that ability to drive play, Evolving-Hockey ranks his total output in the 87th percentile of all NHLers over the past three seasons". 87TH percentile but he's a middle 6 winger :tearsofjoy

What you and many other habs fans don't understand is that the isles have no interest in trading Beauvillier and they don't want futures. When you don't want to give up a cost controlled top 6 forward, the other team has to overpay to make it worth it. Fair value does not get Beauvillier. The isles don't want the Habs 1st rd picks and B, C prospects. I didn't know it was the isles obligation to help the Habs meet their quota for French Canadien players.
