Lots of speculation that Flames claimed him since a dman is about to be moved, then he will slot into the lineup from there

Sharks sell tiers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ItsBreach</b></div><div>i think labanc and hoffman have more value than you think. sj won't be blown away by an offer, but hoffman at 50% (2250000) might fetch a 3rd/4th. he's been ok this year and could provide some offense to a struggling bottom 6 on a playoff team. labanc might be a bit harder, but since he's on an expiring deal, you take what you can get. he's another case of 50% (2362500) might get sj a 5th or 6th rounder, which would only be beneficial to the sharks</div></div>
San Jose only has one retention slot available, so using it on a deal that brings back a 5th or 6th would be a waste. Contenders with tight cap situations will pay a premium to fit a player in before playoffs, and it doesn't even have to be one of the Sharks trade candidates, we could be the third team on other trades too. A player like Hoffman might only be tradeable with retention, but I'm betting that isn't going to be the best return for using that last slot.

my personal realistic deadline
CHI could be thrilled to get anything for a guy they just signed for nothing, but it also wouldn't surprise me if they see Megna as a cheap guy worth having around moving forward.

Yeah, that absolutely works for Columbus. Bean's been quietly decent on the 3rd pair on an awful team.

I wish. GG is never gonna play Jones again I fear. He'll double shift Harpur and Mikkola all night every night for the rest of the season before they give a smallbody a chance unless he's an instant superstar.

I get it, I was just saying it almost tripped me up and that there is a way to show the double retention so expect some comments on being over the cap lol. Wasn't trying to make a huge deal out of it or anything just trying to help out

The insurance he offers in case of an injury in the top 9 during the playoffs is more valuable than any 2024 3rd round pick that will never make the AHL.

I think you’ve hit the main pieces the Blues would look for in a Tarasenko + Barby trade. 1 + 2 and a couple of solid prospects.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Erkadurk347</b></div><div>Take out all the useless pieces in the Jeannot trade. Jeannot alone costs a late first, probably a few more quality pieces too. Ur not very slick by giving Jeannot zero value</div></div>
Jeannot no longer has the value. He had a solid rookie year but this year he has not produced offensively at all and has literally just been a hitter and a fighter. Could go acquire reaves, macEwen or deslauriers for 1/6 his price if that’s what you want. Until Jeannot shows he is still capable of scoring 15-20 goals while bringing solid 2 way play, his value isn’t very high

Your team is literally deteriorating. You are getting a first and two upper teir prospects, along with two other picks, for a guy who doesnt even want to be on your team. If anything its overpay

New York Rangers 2022-23 - Post Draft 1
Nemeth is an afterthought. The team you propose looks similar to mine. Copp: $5.5M is a minimum. The longer he is out there, the more likely he will cost $6M. Copp at $6M is my outside limit. Kakko: $2.25M is more likely the offer to Kappo. Add $750K to your free cap space. It becomes a wash if Andrew costs $6M. Kravtsov and Jones: For me the verdict is not positive until they can show they can play D. If Kravtsov is a flop, you can move Blais to #3RW and bring Will Cuylle up for a look at #3LW. (Brennan Othmann is a possibility as well). If I'm NYR GM, I would have Lundqvist and Jones compete for the #3LD slot. Finally, take a kook at Charlie Lindgren as #2G. You should be able to sign him at $800K, perhaps a tad higher, creating some additional free CAP SPACE. If Charlie is anything like his younger brother, he should fit right into an already tight NYR locker room. We are more of less in the same place.

What will most likely happen
I agree, I think this is close to what you see. I think if they sign Copp, its unlikely they sign Motte unfortunately because I think he gets more on market (2-2.25 AAV). I would also say they need to not sign anyone else over 1 year as next years cap trouble could be bad. I worry about a Miller offer sheet that they can't match.
