What I would do
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Burnout</b></div><div>-Norris' contract is clearly below all recent comparables. On long term deal you're lucky if it doesn't start with an 8.
-Fiala would easily look for something starting at 8 too and demand for Fiala will be fine. At least you upped the offer.
-Zaitsev isn't going to have any market of interest without Ottawa eating salary, sending a good peice back or taking back a bad contract. Clearly Dallas wouldn't have any interest in Zaitsev regardless.
-Even the reporting out of Ottawa was that Montreal's interest in White was mostly speculative because Hughes was his agent. And you don't even need to look at the reporting of Montreal to know they have zero interest/ability to take on bad salary without sending at least as much bad salary back. We're on cap friendly after all. The idea that they'd pay a 3rd for White is laughable.</div></div>
Norris' contract can be changed to say 8 million and this would still work, Fiala has been reported to be looking for 7 to 8 million unless its a false report so 7.5 million makes sense and 8 million would still be cap compliant here, Zaitsev sucks I agree but NHL GMs aren't exactly the brightest at times so I can see someone paying for Zaitsev, the Colin White trade is also just an idea. Its the idea of shipping off Colin White the return can be modified need be Montreal needs to shed cap space

Sure it's not a death blow but it sure as hell doesn't help. I think Minnesota could possibly keep him because Guerin is a great GM so he might find a way

I mean the proof is that there were rumours swirling around of him being moved and it was due to them not having the cap space to bring him back. I don't think they'll have a lot to work with.

They would have you seen the buyouts on Suter and Parise? Not to mention they would still have other needs to fill

I changed it I mean I think they could but don't be surprised if they don't due to them having no leverage just saying

Avs Next Year Simple and Effective Offseason
This is solid but Ottawa passes on the Brown trade imo and Bowers isnt rlly good enough for 3rd line center duty

They 100% get a first round pick for him. It's either you give the 2022 first or the 2023 first (maybe with a top-5 protection)</div></div>
Thats fair but I personally see Minnesota trading him due to the fact they cant keep him

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SquidNasty</b></div><div>White trade is a maybe. Habs were apparently discussing a White trade with Ottawa at the deadline so who knows.
The other two trades are just straight up embarrassing. Zaitsev hold negative value even at 50% retained and the Wild won't be trading Fiala for our scraps.</div></div>
I agree that the Zaitsev trade is awful for any team that gets him but have you seen the awful moves made as of late for overhyped defensemen? I can see a team stupidly paying for him and the thing with Minnesota is they have absolutely no choice but to move on from Fiala or completely dismantle their team to keep Fiala. I cant see them keeping him and they have no leverage so they will get screwed over with the return they field

I wouldn't pay for him however NHL GMs fall for the idea of a good player. I can see a team paying for him although I certainly wouldn't

I mean the returns are pretty pointless I feel like its more the idea that he would get traded there should've clarified that

I think the Fiala and Norris contracts are fair. Niederriter might be a slight underpay but its a theorotical scenario. Also for Zaitsev, it can be any team Minnesota will have no choice but to trade him and the lack of leverage will cause a poor return and Montreal probably would since they had interest in him

I doubt a team will offer sheet him and it will leave Minnesota with no leverage. I can see them getting a first but I doubt it

Not really the issue sure however that 5.9 million is cap space that is desperately needed

When he went to Long Island, the players he initially had were not good defensively but he transformed them and I can see the same happening in Winnipeg
