Fair trade 2overall
Its a question of need. Slaf is a rare bread and u guys need a big winger. It cant be that far of… switch the second for a late first or an a- prospect fitting your need (mesar? Kapanen? Farrel? )
Truth is, the cost it would take would be too much for mtl snd what mtl would be willing to offer too low for ducks. Thats why those trade never happen ;)

Is pul that low regarded now? Tought he had a good year in finland... my understanding is oilers would be asking at least 2 rd for him...

Think krug is way better... trading mete for cap management and allow romanov more ice time... i am intrigue by puljarvi (mainly to add size) but agree we could maybe fetch a better return for mete... all in all, the d corp is much better than last year... that being said, since signing krug is unlekely, i am not against seing if mete can grow this year before trading him...

There would be room in this team to give 8 millions to krug... question is at what point is it too much money? Do you think it would be worth it for mtl? Would this team be a contender?

I think that team would maje mtl in the top 10 teams...
Krug would help powerplay and d, romanov stabilise 3 pairing, more size (pul and kovy addition) to the team and a suitable back-up plus improvement from young core... as for pul, he bring size plus finnish connection, its a gamble allowing to maybe let go armia at some point in 1-2-3 years for cap management... if it does not work, well its a risk worth taking i think plus we cannot have two d under 5:9 ...

Agree if one for one... but i do like an extra first rounder and the prospect of giving puljarvi another shot, plus larson solidify our d...but i just realise larson is right d, tought he was left... iso maybe the same kind of trade could be made with calgary and hanifin? That would be better but doubt we fetch a 1st plus hanifin...

Why are the Habs giving up a 4th and 5th round pick to clear less than 200k of Peca's cap hit when they have almost 3 Million in cap space? That doesn't make sense.</div></div>
I actually tought i was saving 400 000 and did not want him to take a place for a younger guy in laval. Just realise that you could bury minimal salary plus 375000, i tought you could bury only 900 000. Good learning on the cba for me :). Ideally i would do the same kind of thing for weise, since my team is tight with cap if the player get bonus and you eant some cap room for a legit left d at the trade deadline and push back zadarov or mete on the third pairing. I also would not trade drouin if i cannot get the top 4 pick... I'd be willing to work on the trade and maybe replace fleury with somthing more interesting... That being said, i think there could be a trade to be made between these two teams and that if mb is creative, he could have a very good team on the ice if kotkianemi progress of 15-20% next year.

Well, if you read the description, i said it was unrealistic. So nothing makes me think it will happen, quite the opposite. If i am edmonton, i would love a d pair of petry and nurse... But i agree petry would be unlikely to waive. The only thing my exercice is demonstrating, is that it would be an interesting avenue to sign a top rd as a ufa and trade petry at his highest value possible. Its a creative avenue to explore and would allow us to get a top 10 draft pick and therefore solidy the current roster but also making us stronger in the future.

Interewting... I dont know him that much.. But some advance stats folk are saying he is very undervalued in toronto and may be one of the most undervaluated d. Maybe with a d the caliber of weber or karlson plus in front of price would also help him? I am a little afraid of his health tough..:

Its been a couple of time you make those kind of comment about lekhonen (and with a little bit of disrespect, no need for it )
Lekhonen has a good d, may have a little more offensive upside but its not proven and time start not to be on his side. He is still rfa... I doubt he get more than 1/1.5 per on a one year contract unless mtl decide to sign him for more and buy some of his free agent years. Then it might be more...
Other than that, what sid you think of the team? Unlikely i know, but i feel edmonton could bite on that petry offer...

I think there is a deal to be made... Julsen is expndable for montreal. No problem changing ikonen for olofson. That being said, i agree that its a bit of a steep price to pay for montreal which is why i tought of cale fleury...
Drouin / julsen / olofson / hall but newjersey swap its 2rd for mtl third rd pick? Then its a maybe for me... We need a pure goal scorer.

Hall to mtl
I would rather trade 2020 pick... But in terms of timing, i doubt any ld draft this summer is ready to take on a top 4 role on a top 5/10 team before 3-4 years, which is then too late for our window with weber and price to my opinion... We may have to take risk to get that top 4 ld faster... I'd be willing to part with julsen and a second round if it would be enough as we have too many rd...
As for the devils, maybe a better prospect than ikonen? Cale fleury? Do you really think the devils with get a better player with a high ceiling like drouin for a ufa to be? Unless the decide to go once again full rebuild but at some point you have to move forward and the devils have been a bad team for long enough for their fan base to accept them trading hall for no immediate return.

Exactly like dale weise rights? I think bergving is going to mature his team, make it youngers and slowly bring the good youth we have. One thing remain, you want your young guys to compete and for that we need a gap on ld... Totally agree that we will not trade for muzzin type guys who ask a lot, but i think betgevin will consider short term gap if price is low... Again, those two player help for 2 years (maybe 1.5 for richardson cause poehling is closer to nhl ready). Bergvin is not as black and white as you picture him to be... Where i agree with you all is dont touch to poehling, romanov, brook, ylonen, suzuki and primeau. For the rest, they are likely not part of our future exept may e the small left d in college which i always forget the name...

Not too sure where you comments come from? Giving a 3rd and a 4rd to give experience to young kids is nothing. Plus halmarson and richardson fill the gap until poehling and romanov can take bigger responsabilities. You may even hope that richardson helps kk and peohling in learning to take face-off. Finally, the only piece you are giving who hurts a little is cale fleury, but he is third behing julsen brooks in our depth chart and therefore is likely to never make it in mtl. So it cost us a potential #4 or 5 d man to fill a gap, and help the kids be competitive. It is not what i call mortgagi g the future... Then, if julseen career is over, its another story...

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>littlejerryseinfeld</b></div><div>Hi, we would like a 75-80 point player in his prime.
We will give you a 23 year old defenseman still finding his way, a guy we waived and put in the minors 15 months after we signed him for huge money and for huge term, a good prospect, a 400 year old goalie and a couple picks. We will also ask you to give us your goalie and a good defenseman.
:awesome</div></div>
23 years old d is finding back his shape after an injury i the ahl, but he has proven he will be a top 4 dman in the league already. Julsen will be a very good second pairing rd with mobility and roughness. Suzuki is a a prospect and argualbly the best prospct in the oganisation. Then, ylone is a 35 th draft pcik overall, almost a first round pick and is performing well at the world junior with a 1 point per game and is considered maybe the fastest skater on the tournament. Then, your couple of pick are a 1st likely to be around 20th plus a second. I think you lack a bit of perspective or maybe do not know well the player i have offered. Remember sign and trade pacioretty got mtl suzuki, tatar(who had minus value at the time) and a second rond. I am not saying tarasenko is not worth more, but i feel my offer, altough ,maybe not perfect, is far from deserving your comment. Plus, you have to think that with a bad team, lost of motivation, tarasenko value could decreasea lot in the next two season if he gets less than 65 points which seem to be very likely.

for the cap space of goalie, it is not a big challenge si ce we are dumping alzner who is burried... This deal (alzner versus allen) actually save mtl cap space of about 1 million and i am sure montreal could then retain 1 millions of allen salary and save another 2 million versus keepimg alzner. For subbanator, i kind of agree :) but have to admit this is the best deal i could came up with who was fair and made us close to solid contender (my ideal deal would be a signed and trade panarin and murray a similar package but then agai. Your point would likely still be valid)

Well, i figure i rather have a younger francophone back-up and save 1 million cap hit versus karl alzner. Alzner can be part of a transition phase with the blues and at some point mtl could trade allen by retaning some more salary if need be when they become tight in cap space. After that trade, mtl line up would be very dangerous to my opinion.

Colombus trade
Sorry there is no goalie in the deal. Fleury is a 20 years old 3 rd who has play much above is draft rank and who should be a 4-5 d man or a second round pic if u prefer.mike reiley and charles hudon are not of no value, specially hudon who i still thnk has potential to become a 45-50 guy in the league. I strongly doubt compmbus get their ask for a non signed panarin, but then i get that they would likely keep him as their own rental. The only other option would be to include julsen in the discussion but the deal would need to be reshape. Anyway, this sort of deal is not happening but i think adding murray and panarin with make montreal a very damgerous team :)

Well, thats a bit why i feel we can use peohling as a trade chip... I feel danaut is a very good third line player but would not bring back a hge return. I am ok with a center line of domi, kk and then danaut. Therefore poehling bcome my chip to get a good left d (murray).
Then, swapping tatar and a 1 st for a sign and trade for panarin seems fair to me. The rest of the pieces can be useful to colombus but are not a big lost to mtl who have too many of these type of player.
Finally, if i tought we could be effective on the ufa market, that would change my approach but last years did not show us much success...
