St. Louis also gets rid of Allen and his bad contract.

Can you make that happen right away? So Blues fans can stop including him in trades like he has any value. Blues fans aren't the only ones who do that Wings fans do it as well, but just have more bad contracts than any other team.

Well, i figure i rather have a younger francophone back-up and save 1 million cap hit versus karl alzner. Alzner can be part of a transition phase with the blues and at some point mtl could trade allen by retaning some more salary if need be when they become tight in cap space. After that trade, mtl line up would be very dangerous to my opinion.

14 Mil on goalies.. Yikes. I dont see why MTL would ever add more goalie salary. Also seems like a bit of an overpayment for Tarasenko to me. Susuki, Juulsen and that 1st will be better in the long run.

I think this is to much for MTL to give up. They aren't that close to winning and depth in prospects is a strength they need to keep for now. Tarasenko and edmundson are the two roster positions we need to improve but still doesn't make us a contender.

I'll also state my opinion that Tarasenko isnt the player he used to be. When they signed him to that big contract he was one of the next best goal scorers emerging, he has since flattened out and hasnt kept improving.

The value is there, but still isn't the right time for MTL to give up young assets to make a run. They didnt do it for Ryan O'Reilly, they shouldn't do it for tarasenko

for the cap space of goalie, it is not a big challenge si ce we are dumping alzner who is burried... This deal (alzner versus allen) actually save mtl cap space of about 1 million and i am sure montreal could then retain 1 millions of allen salary and save another 2 million versus keepimg alzner. For subbanator, i kind of agree smile but have to admit this is the best deal i could came up with who was fair and made us close to solid contender (my ideal deal would be a signed and trade panarin and murray a similar package but then agai. Your point would likely still be valid)

Allen has not been good but he’s still better than Niemi. You also wanna saddle us with Alzner who isn’t even in the NHL. So you’re already starting off in the hole then you want us to trade Eddy and Tank for your second tier prospects and a couple of picks?! That’s a hard pass here. If you wanna trade for Tank start with Kotkaniemi then add from there. As “leveled off” as he has become he is still an elite goal scorer in the NHL. Overall just a no from the Blues

Even if the value is there... I can't see St-Louis adding another Bad contract at D when they will free themself from Bouwm next season.
I would try to keep Ylonen or Suzuki and gives Lehko instead.
But for sure adding 2 mid-20's would help Mtl to 1- secure there playoff spot... 2- maybe think becoming a cup contender for the next 3 years

Hi, we would like a 75-80 point player in his prime.

We will give you a 23 year old defenseman still finding his way, a guy we waived and put in the minors 15 months after we signed him for huge money and for huge term, a good prospect, a 400 year old goalie and a couple picks. We will also ask you to give us your goalie and a good defenseman.

awesome face

23 years old d is finding back his shape after an injury i the ahl, but he has proven he will be a top 4 dman in the league already. Julsen will be a very good second pairing rd with mobility and roughness. Suzuki is a a prospect and argualbly the best prospct in the oganisation. Then, ylone is a 35 th draft pcik overall, almost a first round pick and is performing well at the world junior with a 1 point per game and is considered maybe the fastest skater on the tournament. Then, your couple of pick are a 1st likely to be around 20th plus a second. I think you lack a bit of perspective or maybe do not know well the player i have offered. Remember sign and trade pacioretty got mtl suzuki, tatar(who had minus value at the time) and a second rond. I am not saying tarasenko is not worth more, but i feel my offer, altough ,maybe not perfect, is far from deserving your comment. Plus, you have to think that with a bad team, lost of motivation, tarasenko value could decreasea lot in the next two season if he gets less than 65 points which seem to be very likely.
